Amitabh's daughter to make her debut

Shweta Nanda, daughter of Amitabh Bachchan, is all set to make her debut but on television. Shweta won't be acting in soaps but will host on a television show.

She will be hosting NDTV Profit's new weekly show called 'NextGEN'. The show will be in 12-part series that will feature 12 people below the age of 40 from various fields including art, literature, sports, films, fashion and business. It will focus on what drives to their professions and their goals.

Calling this as a great opportunity, Shweta feels that the show deals with a cross-section of people, their feelings and their great struggles. She also adds that the youth of today are more comfortable with themselves and they bring out the same in you.

Amitabh Bachchan had a successful career as a host but Shweta says that it would be unfair to compare her with her father. His blessings are enough for her she adds.

If it isnt unfair for someone to have a fabulous dream launch just because their parents are famous actors then it shouldnt be unfair to compare them to their parents.

When you have such high-profile parent(s) and you enter the same field as them inevitably you will have a lot of expectation because you are that person(s) child. And you have the advantage of getting the best opportunities because you have such parents so you cannot expect best opportunities without people having such high expectations from you if you get what I mean. You will get a lot of popularity or viewers for your show just because you are so-and-so's child etc so you cannot shrink from that by saying it would be unfair to compare with your father.

However, it might be unfair to compare her to her father in the sense that he was already a well-established Bollywood actor by the time he did KBC. Nevertheless people will make comparisons.

I think she has already started it. And is very successful at it.

Parents might be famous but it takes YOU to make it big. look what happened tp Kumar Garav, Kholi's son who cameith Ayesha Julka, Fardeen Khan etc.

And to top that she has her grandfather's writing skills. And she not only host it but also writes her script for it.

Now go ahead and say that Amitabh must be writing it adn putting her name to it...But the thing is appreciate her rather than pulling her down just becasue she is Amitabh's daughter.

Not what I meant and I did anticipate that people might interpret me wrongly.

I'm not pulling her down and nor am I saying that just cos she's AB's daughter that alone is enough because it's not (as can be seen from Akshaye Khanna, Esha Deol etc).

What I am saying is that being AB's daughter gives her a lot of advantages (just like it might be advantageous/ helpful to someone who wants to become an accountant or something if they know people in that line) but it will also come with disadvantages cos there'll be high expectations. Therefore, you cannot expect the advantages without accepting the advantages.

E.g. you cannot be famous model or celebrity without having to accept that the press and public will follow you around and restrict your privacy because the two come together.

Hence, there was so much media coverage and attention given to Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. Why? Because of their parent(s) and many people (though not all) wanted to watch the film to see Rishi Kapoor's son and Anil Kapoor's daughter film and see their acting and they will compare Ranbir Kapoor with his dad. That is why some people watched the film and which is why they received so much attention which many other newcomers may not or did not receive. We know that they are newcomers etc and will make mistakes which is acceptable but we will still compare them etc

Yup thats true.....you get the things easily and then it is up to you to take advatage of it.

If she was a newcomer than she would be working hard Door to door to get teh job but as she is famous people come t her with the proposal of the show.

I meant that boy who came with Ayesha Julka....Oh I loved Ayesha Julka but then again she spoiled her career for that boy as she thoht he would marry her. HE is Some Mr. Kohli's son who always made the multistarrers.

You get easy first deals when you are star sons and daughters but then yo have ot mak eit own yourself if you are able to. Look Esha Deol still struggling while Kareena made it good for herself as she had something in her. SAme is withAbhsishek. He is now doing great.

but anyways talkative and rude people make a great host for TV 😛 😆
