I would say Smita is slightly better performer than Anamika and Anamika is disputably better singer than Smita!!

Most playback singers these days are performer also.

Yes the marketability factor is very important. Good Voice, Good Face, Good Body, Good Dancing skills, Good Acting and Good Communication skills are all strong selling points. Sometimes modern songs do not need a perfect voice so long as the singer is able to sing in tune, Basically a Pretty Face with a reasonably good voice is all that is required for a performance.

But for playback singing , I think a very good voice is preferred by most MDs.
