Emon over-confident /Ankita - Great perfo - Page 2

u know its really sad that the judges have put ankita on some sort of pedestal..i agree with the ones who say that eomn shud not be picked on for "being" over confident cos in that then i feel ankita is too...sometimes i feel she over-performs..her performances(rather than her singing) tends to over shadow those singers who can sing wayyy better than her but may not be able to perform as good as her...its indian idol,a singing competition,we r looking for some1 who can sing well NOT perform well!!!! im not performances dont matter, they do but i think the emphasis shud be more on the singing!!!! singers like deepali n puja have powerful voices but their performances r not top-rated.y is it that the performances stand out n not the singing!!!! i feel at times that anu malik is listeing with his eyes n not his ears cos the only thing he always points out is the person's confidence level or how good their performance is...thats really pathetic!!! bravo to shabana azmi for giving him a dose of his own medicine...he needed that for demoralising the contestants, they r humans too n r prone to make mistakes, y be so harsh??? instead as a judge he shud be giving constructive crticism like javed akhtar n alisha rather than put the contestants down!!! i think he seriously needs to be given some lessons on "how to judge n crticise"!!!

I think that neither Emon nor Ankita are over confident 😊 .. They both have the right level of confidence req for II3 😃

I am sick and tired of it being reiterated again and again that this is a singing competition. If this is a singing competition, and has nothing to do with looks, performance, confidence, x-factor etc then I would rather they showcase just the voice of these contestants. Have them sing behind a curtain, assign them numbers, ask the public to vote, and then in the big finale ultimately reveal the singer whom the public has chosen. This competition isn't named "Saregama" or "Voice of India", its Idol, and Idol encapsulates so much more than just singing in tune and having a unique voice. Its about the ability to reach people, inspire them, make them aspire to be like you, essentially take them to the next level. At this point we can all establish that the remaining people can sing in key and that is the basic criterion. What will grant them the edge is the way they carry themselves as the competition proceeds, the songs they select, the clothes they choose to wear, how they choose to represent their personalities, what genre emerges as their genre of preference...

We are talking about demoralising contestants, I am demoralized as a fan of Ankita visiting this site and having to defend her in every 2nd forum. Whats the point of having 3 reality shows that all are looking for the same thing? Because one of them aims to be different and thats Idol which has created, not da most popular playback singer around, but a bona fide popstar out of Abhijeet Sawant, and the life of the popstar entails all the aforementioned criteria. Abhijeet isn't just selling his voice, he has to sell concert tickets, he can use Music Videos as a medium to reach people, he fronts his videos himself rather than having his song voiced-over by some actors or models, and thats what makes him different from the next playback singing sensation. So people, Singing is the major chunk of what is required here but for the love of God and humanity, its not the only thing, THERE'S SO MUCH MORE THAT YOU NEED TO BE AN IDOL
