Shahrukh Khan hosted the Filmfare Awards last Saturday evening at the Yash Raj Studios in Andheri, Mumbai. The actor was at his best as he cracked everyone with his mind-blowing sense of humor.
It started with SRK declaring that he has made a resolution that he would never do a Big B movie remake again as 'The Original is Original'. SRK then, surprised everyone as he addressed Aby's baby as 'AbhiDhoom Bachchan' as he invited the actor on the stage to receive his Best Supporting Actor award for KANK. SRK sure made it more interesting for the curious viewers, as he questioned Abhishek on how did he do this role and how did he prepare for 'Dhoom:2', the question came with a dash of sarcasm as Abhishek has already been criticized for his performance in the movie. Aby's baby replied, "I was not in the film," as papa Big B sat on the edge of the seat and gave his usual stern look. SRK didn't stop there as he asked, "You do a film like 'Dhoom:2' and then, you turn around and this very intense and very amazing film called 'Guru', so how do you do this?" to which our 'quite-defensive-n-little-witty' Abhishek replied, "It's very simple, for one film you eat and for the other you don't let your fianc eat."
Jaya Bachchan, who received the Lifetime achievement awards, literally had Ash in tears, well, we meant emotionally as she was all praises for her to be daughter-in-law; "Ash has the right values and I welcome her to our family," expressed Jaya.
Hrithik and Shahrukh put up a funny act which had SRK dressed as 'Krrish' hanging from a rope. King Khan mocked Hrithik with "I should have told Hrithik to bring me down, when his first movie 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' released, he very nearly got my career down". SRK further added, "I am a very desperate guy and this is one way of being on the top."
Shahrukh's gags had the entire Bollywood laugh out loud, so while the Oscars had Ellen de Genres, we had our King Khan but, it's still a 'Question of a Question', did the Filmfare awards match up to the Oscars?
