Reading about the reaction of Sonakshi's father, the wedding isn't something he is even aware of. So, maybe, Zaheer is not well received as future son-in-law...

More than likely he just wanted to throw the media off. He’s an actor, he knows how to lie to the media . Still, saying kids these days don’t ask their parents and do what they want sounded like a dig
