Such a lacklustre episode despite Shahid having awesome songs. On top of it Uttkarsh’s elimination comes as a shocker. 😢 Totally disappointing.

Adya’s Ik Kudi was no great shakes.

Anjana’s Carnatic thillana as a prelude to Tan tanaa was novel, and enjoyable.

Shubhodeep was superb esp in Aaoge jab tum - a very soul-stirring rendition.

Vaibhav sounded hoarse, maybe a cold . He looked so down and out that I feared he was going to get eliminated & got wind of it. His Kaise hua lacked the much needed punch & power which he is capable of.

Uttkarsh - not his best day. Again Kabir Singh proved to be the bummer here. Didn’t suit his voice, he laboured through it somehow.

But despite that, losing Uttkarsh this early is a shocker , while we still have Obom & Adya.
Heck, bottom three belonged to Obom, Adya & Menuka. Though Uttkarsh wasn’t upto his mark today, he couldn’t have scored less than Adya. Uttkarsh should’ve been in the top 6.

Menuka’s exit is justified.

Overall it was like watching a boring movie with a scripted disappointing climax. 😳

Feel like abandoning the show, but Shreya will pull me in.

Wasn’t shocking for me I knew it was coming that’s why I made a post earlier in elimination and discussion thread but everyone said that he won’t be going home this soon so I had a little hope and seeing his reaction after his name was announce that he is the 2nd person to leave show today that he was already prepared for this. He knew it was coming so probably gave up for the first time he was nervoush during performance. He wasn’t this bad when he forget lyrics anyways for me it’s done and I don’t know if I am gonna watch SS too knowing how channel is biased.

I was suspicious with Saturday episode. Utkarsh didn’t get even one mukhda or antara In last Grp singing. Then I read this. utkarsh, Piyush & Ananya were top 3 for me. Since Utkarsh is eliminated this is my goodbye to all. Have fun watching a show which so biased, & with pre decided winner.

Winner is going to be between Ananya & Subhadeep. My prediction as he was Ustaad is getting all classical, semi classical songs. I personally don’t care who wins.

Piyush on Saturday’s episode especially “O Megha RE Megha re “ Suresh Wadker ji’s original rendition was simply outstanding 👌👏👏 Sureshji would be so proud of him.

He was the winner of previous Sur nava dhyas nava winner 2023. Kid is amazing. 👏👏👏

Shahid-Kriti episode. Maybe I’m biased since I like these two a lot and they have good songs etc so I loved the episodes. I LOVED Shreya’s story about her son before they did Parm Sundari.

Adya - she sang Ik Kudi which was fine nothing too much to write home about.

Anjana - Dhan Te Nan was really great the Tamil riff in the beginning especially.

Shubodeep - this is his best performance imo, I agree with Shreya that he sang with so much feel both the songs were sublime. For me he’s a really great singer it he’s so extra with his alaaps and just extra stuff that he does which takes me out of his performances despite being technically brilliant. This performance was outstanding since he just felt it and sang from the heart! Well deserved hit lit

Vaibhav - Kaise Hua is one of my fave songs of recent times and he did great but nothing too extraordinary. I thought he did better with Nagada and Raat Bhar which are his forte.

Utkarsh - Apna Bana Le is one of my absolute FAVE songs and he was fine, I expected more from him tbh. Albert in SRGMP this year did a better job with the song. He did better with Bekhayli imo. The original song he did was cute!

Said this in another topic that it’s shocking to see Utkarsh and Menuka leave this early! Obom and Adya deserved to go before them. Oh well I’m only rooting for Ananya and hope she wins because she’s the only one to win imo

I am surprised that the judges haven’t vetoed Utkarsh’s elimination, I hope he gets to come back as a wildcard (if they still do those!)

My brief run-through of both episodes:

Saturday's episode (Hemant Kumar / Moushumi Chatterjee):
Obom was fine ... nothing great though.

Dipan's first song was good, but I think Shreya and Sanu da's performance of Rhim Jhim Gire Sawan (one of my favorite songs all-time!) overshadowed his rendition. It was fine, but was missing a certain magic.

Menuka had another blank-out and received deserved criticism from the judges, the second song was fine but taal felt a slight problem again.

Piyush -- I might get some flak for this, but I was not as huge of a fan of him as some others on here (although I thought he deserves to be a finalist). This performance changed that ... Megha Re Megha Re was truly outstanding; as the judges said, Suresh Wadkar ji would be very proud of that rendition. He's now definitely a contender in my eyes!

Ananya's performance was great as usual; I especially liked her first song.

Sunday's episode (Shahid Kapoor / Kriti Sanon):
Adya was ok, I guess.

Anjana was actually pretty good, and I liked her version of Dhan Te Nan; it's easy to forget that she's classically trained and quite versatile, so blending some of those aspects with the SMP genre she usually occupies seems to work, at least to an extent.

Subhadeep was brilliant. I wouldn't mind if any of him, Ananya, or Piyush were to win. Aaoge Jab Tum was especially great. I know some were suggesting that other male contestants perhaps should've gotten the song (especially Dipan, given his guru was Ustad Rashid Khan), but Subho's voice seems most suitable for it. His expressiveness and effort really shows with each performance.

Vaibhav was good overall, but Kaise Hua was missing ... something. Nagada was good; it again reflects his ability to entertain taking precedence over his singing. I thought he should've been in the bottom 3, but he should be safe.

Utkarsh seemed resigned to his fate of being eliminated, in my opinion. He definitely could've done more with the two songs he was given -- Apna Bana Le and Bekhayali, while the latter didn't seem like a great fit for his voice. Not a bad performance, but not great relative to the potential he has displayed.

Very disappointing that Utkarsh was eliminated. I thought he was surely a finalist and a very versatile singer -- clearly given little room for error by the judges and channel. I would've wanted Adya, Obom, and probably Vaibhav to finish below him, at the least. Menuka being eliminated was expected.

I don’t think he is coming back because finale is in four weeks. Tbh it wasn’t shocking for me as much as you guys because I kind of knew this was coming seeing past few weeks treatment from channel towards him because same thing happened to Muskaan and Mahima. The only thing that disappointed me is that Obom and Adya are still in the show and this people had to go before them. Tbh I don’t want him to come and I hope he doesn’t come to other reality shows like IGT and SRGMP because channel doesn’t care about talent at all they only care is their profit they will keep the people who will profit them after all it’s all about business. For me show is done and I don’t care who wins or loses.

Can’t digest this. could’ve accepted even Vaibhav’s exit. But uttkarsh, of all people. 😡😔

Going by the general theory, winners/ finalists seldom make it big, the eliminated ones do well. Shirisha is the recent example esp when compared to Arunita. So hoping Uttkarsh gets the right breaks & wishing him all the best. 💕👍.
