AU-U19 vs NAM-U19: Match Prediction, Dream11 Team, Fantasy Tips & Pitch Report | U19 World Cup 2024, Australia vs Namibia

Australia will be opening their campaign in the U-19 World Cup against Namibia in South Africa on Monday, January 22. The Aussies will be eager to follow their senior counterparts’ footsteps and bag the ultimate prize in the Rainbow Nation Australia played a warm-up game against India to prepare themselves for the tournament. In that match, Australia were bowling first as they curbed the defending world champions at a humble total of 171 runs. Charlie Anderson produced the best bowling figures for Australia as he dismissed four players in six overs while giving away just 20 runs. In the second half, Australia were off to a dodgy start that saw them lose four wickets at just 53 runs. None of the Aussie batters managed more than 11 runs before rainfall interrupted the game. The match was ultimately abandoned leading to no result.

Australia will play their U-19 World Cup opener against Namibia on January 22 at the Diamond Oval. Namibia played their World Cup warm-up game against the United States. Even their match was abandoned due to rainfall causing a no-result contest. They will now be looking to start their tournament on a winning note as they hope to beat the Aussies in their upcoming game.

Diamond Oval Pitch Report:

The playing surface at Diamond Oval often provides a conducive environment for both seam and spin bowlers, particularly during the early stages with the new ball. Batters can anticipate a consistent bounce, setting the stage for a potentially closely contested, high-scoring encounter. Teams emerging victorious may weigh the option of batting first to establish a commanding total on the scoreboard.
