Heard a lot of good things about Atal ji but never got around to actually learning about him. Hopefully this movie stayed true to his real life persona and story. Pankaj’s presence already gives me some hope.🤞

Atal Vajpayee is one of those Indian political leaders I respect a lot because of some of his ethics and endeavours.

He is also someone who tried to get peaceful relationships with Pakistan and also did not deny that he made a fault in not officially/publicly holding Modi accountable for what happened in Gujarat in Februar 2002 by removing Modi from his political position (he relented to certain voices in the party).

When the movie gets released online, I'll certainly try to watch it to get to know how Vajpayee is portrayed. I also would like if the movie shows his thinking about the events in Ayodhya in December 1992 when the hardline HIndu nationalist Advani was president of the BJP (to me, Vajpayee seemed to be a much more moderate and sensible member/leader of the BJP)

Thanks for the reminder, BI smiley27

Had loved this tribute to him in August 2018 and still love it.

Here the poem with English translation (it's from a blog, I hope it's correct):

क्या खोया क्या पाया जग में,

मिलते और बिछड़ते मग में,

मुझे किसी से नहीं शिक़ायत,

यद्द्पि छला गया पग पग में।

Kya Khoya Kya Paya Jag Mein

Milte Aur Bichadte Mag Mein

Mujhe Kisi Se Nahin Shikayat

Yadyapi Chal Gaya Pag Pag Mein.

What has lost and earned in the world,

in unification and separation of the world,

I haven't any complaint to anybody,

even if cheated at every step I turned.

Ek Drishti Beeti Par Dalein,

Yadon Ki Potali Tatolein,

Apne Hi Mann Se Kuch Bolein.

Put a sight on the past,

rummage memory fast,

say something from own heart.

Prithvi Lakhon Varsh Purani,

Jivan Ek Anant Kahani,

Par Tan Ki Apni Simaen,

Yadyapi Sau Shardon Ki Vani.

Earth has millions of years glory,

life is an eternal story,

but body has its own limits,

even if voice of hundreds autumn fury.

Itna Kafi Hai Antim Dastak,

Par Khud Darwaza Kholein,

Apne Hi Mann Se Kuch Bolein.

It's enough that in the last knock,

personally open the door,

something from own heart pour.

Janm Marn Ka Avirat Phera,

Jivan Banjaro Ka Dera,

Aaj Yahan Kal Kahan Kooch Hai,

Kaun Janta Kidhar Savera.

Death and birth is a continuous cycle,

life is a nomadic ritual,

today here tomorrow somewhere else departure,

who knows where is morning's call.

Andhiyara Aakash Asimit,

Prano Ke Pankhon Ko Taulein,

Apne Hi Mann Se Kuch Bolein.

Dark sky is unlimited,

weigh the wings of life's start,

say something from own heart

There used to be India Shining Slogan when he was the PM but that time people rejected this and changed the govt

This decade there has total reversal in people's attitude they don't mind price rise unemployment nautanki circus misuse etc

People are happy and enjoying good days

For me Atal Behari Vajpayee is the only politician I really admire

He tried to do his best to bridge the gap between India and Pakistan

Also, that era when he was PM and Kalam was President was the golden era for indian politics...something I don't see we are ever getting back
