Why does Vicky Kaushal always play the outsider card?

I mean his father has been a prominent action/stunt director in Bollywood for over 40 years and his father knew lots of influential people in showbiz! Like Anurag Kashyap used to visit his house and have dinner…that’s how he managed to nab the job of the assistant director of Gangs of Wasseypur! so when will he drop the pretence? 

The outsider tag suits people like Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon more actually, not someone like Vicky who had industry connections unlike the former two.

I think it's not so black and white.

Firstly, there are some insiders like like Kareena, Alia, Esha, Varun, Arjun etc  who are children of prominent actors/directors/producers and have insane connections. They are the ones with most privilege.

And there are non-powerful nepo types like Rekha, Shahid, Rani, Vicky etc. who didn't have strong connections or backing despite being "insiders" when they started, so they associate their struggles with that of the outsiders.

There are also power outsiders like Kiara, Deepika, Ritesh, Katrina etc. who are either children/relatives of prominent people or friends/partners of industry folks, so they get a slight upper hand than other outsiders.

Lastly, there are complete outsiders like Kangana, Kartik, Sushant, Taapsee, Mrunal etc who had literally no connection so they had to start from scratch and struggle.

Sabko audience se sympathy chahiye.

But he said he had no idea where the auditions were. Did he lied?

He should rather play the nepo-card. Tab shayad producer log uske big budget films mein paisa daale.
