He did buy a new flat in the same building. Dont know bhool gaye ya nahi. 

But buying a new flat for Chitnis' in a way makes sense. That flat is Jahan's. They need a flat of their own. But then... did he forget she is moving to Bangalore? Looks like the flat is in his own worksite. So... may not cost much to him too - fwik builders get some flats too (i may be wrong).
