Background music drowns Dev's voice

Do any of you also have this feeling, like I have, that the background music of the Kaajjal serial often drowns Dev's voice, so we have to strain to catch his words?

I don't mean just in this last episode of the fight on the cliff (that music was indeed loud but it had to be, I think, for they were angry scenes etc) ... but even sometimes in soft romantic scenes, we find that because Apurva Agnihotri has a softer lower pitched voice level the music sometimes drowns out his voice. In some scenes where he is thinking in his mind also, he tends to speak fast in his low voice, against background music, so again there is difficulty to hear some sentences clearly.

On the other hand Surveen's voice is naturally more shrill so it is audible above the music.

If all of you feel this to be correct perhaps we should write to the producers and tell them to balance the right levels for his voice?

It's just my view. I'd love to know what everyone thinks.

mansi i completely agree with u on this point.
u know first of all today almost all dailysoaps hv the same type of loud and irritating background music every now and then and then apu's voice is low pitched so it becomes all the more difficult to listen the exact words.now i think dubbing is done separately and the music is added during editing,so thats the reason this problem arises,i think the only way out is they should soften the music a bit,bec u can't change apu's voice modulation, and why u need such dhadanm dhudum music every now and then 😡 ,as it is the impact is created with their superb performances 😳 .

Yes you are right Jyoti. I have been involved in the shooting/editing of many TV commercials in my advertising days, and the problem is actually as you say at the technical level.

The thing is they have to find the balance between Apu, Surveen and the music ... two of these three are coming out right, whereas the lower and faster speaking level of Apu alone is getting the hit.

I am sure if many people have the same feeling, the producers will welcome this feedback so they can correct it. Perhaps Hema Di has the contact info for Sandip Sikand so we can tell them on behalf of the IF forum that many members feel this way so can they correct the problem?

(Especially all of us Apu fans want to haer him more than we want to haer the rest of the cast!😉)

mansi actually u hv taken up a very good point, the problem mostly arises either when he is talking to himself in a soft tone and in the background something like"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"goes on 😆or when he is having a fight with his family and he is talking very fast and in the background something like "dhadam dhudum didhadhag didhadang"goes on 😆 😆 ,and what we do, go on increasing our tv.volume 😕 .so first of all they need to cut off all those unwanted sounds(i won't call it a music);even if u r showing a tense situation or some anticlmax either they can hv a good background music director who can provide a soothing effect in such situation without those terrible sounds and if they hv no option but to continue with those sounds then unfortunately they will hv to ask apu to pitch his voice a bit higher or in other words to improve his dialogue delivery or else find a good technician to adjust both of them;those sounds and our apu's soft voice😳

I just called and spoke to Sandip's technical guy in charge of Kaajjal, and explained to him the technical problem. He agrees there is a defect there. He has promised to see its corrected.

Actually no I did not ask. I was speaking more technical jargon with him! I doubt he knows too mmuch about the storyline! (He however did understand the technical problem ... and in fact its quite a common problem, and quite easy to fix also.)

But if there's a next time I have to make a similar phone call, I will try to ask him about the next episodes also! So that we can do more detective work and figure out the storyline!

yes we r expert in doing CIDgiri😆

on a more serious note,i think the serial is becoming like a roopkatha😕,with all these mani and sandook and babas,i mean they should start concentrating more on the love story of dev and kaju, bec thats what the story is all about and thats what the audience wants to see.a bit of amishas and dhruvs r ok for the story to move forward but in the last few episodes it seems like that amisha😡is hogging most of the limelight

Oh you are so correct Jyoti about this Ameesha getting more air time than Dev-Kaajjal.

Yesterday we were all expecting to see so much of Dev-Kaajjal, and instead we are being rudely interrupted by Ameesha-Veer in between every two seconds, showing their fight ... and only showing Dev-Kaajal shouting at each oter but without being able to listen to what they are saying because they are just showing a fight from the distance!

Remember how happy we all were that Dev is dragging Kaajjal to the cliff so he will be alone with her without Ameesha? And what do we get... every two seconds we see Ameesha's teeth!
