The Tara imagining Dhruv while being dressed up as a bride scenes were before the portrait making ceremony.

So the haldi failing makes Rajpurohit invent a ritual where Tara has to feed Senapati bhog, and because Tara goes to Senapati's room to give him the food (the first time she's ever been in his room apparently), Senapati wants to mark the occasion with a portrait!

And that's the portrait that Tara and Dhruv came across in the 21st century.

Tara happy that marriage to Senapati may not be her destiny and asks Kanhaji to expose Senapati's wrong doings as well.
