Prakash is a typical old school woman with internalised misogyny. She had blamed herself for not being good looking when Dharam married Hema and said anyone would choose Hema over her. Her old interview was sad and shared on this forum a decade ago.

I am not surprised she blames Dimple and sees no fault in her straying son and has no issue with Dharam's affairs, second marriage, drinking, flirting with co stars or female fans and guests on TV shows till date.

Hema was fascinated by Dharam's fair complexion. He was one of fittest stars of his time and a very fair skinned man when he was young. Hema once admitted she fell in love at first sight and was fascinated by Dharam's fair complexion.

I feel she was superficial. She was madly in love with Dharam and ignored all red flags and warnings. He too never let any other man come close to her.

Plenty of women back then felt he was a Greek god. Jaya was also fascinated by him and called him greek god. Even some men used to call him handsome. Dilip Kumar had once said kaash mujhe Allah ne Dharmendra jaisa haseen chehra diya hota.

Sunny has been bitter ever since action films era was over and romantic or message films era came up. Deols never had good script sense. They are old school and stuck in 70s and 80s style cinematic sense. They also hated PR, marketing and social media.

Read why I wrote that post. I never said Sunny has no talent. I was responding to someone else who said why could Parkash not divorce Dharam and live with Sunny and Bobby herself? Myviewprem said maybe grown up Sunny and Bobby could have supported their mom.

I just said they were too dependent on Dharam to support their mom divorcing Dharam and they were not the kind to defy their dad or live separately from him.

The discussion was about Dharam's controlling, dominating and patriarchal nature and why Prakash never left him despite affairs and marriage to Hema or how Sunny and Bobby also had Dharam controlling their personal and professional life and Sunny had wanted to marry Dimple but Dharam ensured he married Pooja and most Deol women are kept away from media or tolerate affairs of men, the way Pooja also tolerates Sunny still being in touch with Dimple.

Read whole context before jumping to conclusions. We are not discussing careers here.

I admit I didn’t read each and every post but just skimmed through the last few posts where I got the impression that Sunny is being treated as another star kid with no talent who tried to piggyback on his dad. Btw, Ghayal had no producers because the story was new and different for that time on the top of it being directed by a stark newcomer. Sunny believed in him and decided to produce it himself, though he put his dad’s name to it. It was also said by someone in this thread that because of Sunny’s fights with half the industry, Booby’s chances have been ruined as he never got to work with YRF etc when the truth is Bobby worked with YRF in one of their biggest movies Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. He even had a fight with his most favorite director Rajkumar Santoshi for his brother when he wanted him to take Bobby for Bhagat Singh’s role instead of Ajay and Rajkumar did not oblige. At the peak of his career in the late 90s he started focusing on his brother’s career more than his own and there by failed to cash in on the clout he got after the movies like Border. I have no clue about their personal lives nor am I interested in it but talent wise Sunny has carved his own niche in the industry with his sheer talent and hardwork. He is definitely not the reason for Bobby never making it. He is awkward and extremely shy which prevented him from making friendships. Plus his dad never brought his first wife and kids around the industry ever which made them grow up completely different from the rest of the star kids. Look at this video here how stiff he was here and his interaction with Karan 😆 and how bad his so called winning speech was. No wonder he never shows up at any of the awards.
