I think about this everyday and now I have came to this realization that if it weren't for religion, we humans will find another reason for disputes...we have this natural mentality of us versus them😆....If not for religion, am pretty sure we would fighting over national / state boundaries, color of skin, race, ethnicity, difference in political ideologies and may be socio economic differences, caste within a religion....you name it. Religion just makes it more easy ...end of the day we will fight..Religion in itself is beautiful and is like an anchor to rely on when faced with difficulties of life... but the problem arises when one tries to impose it on others or thinks theirs is superior.. 😆
it's the group mentality...a need to survive...like: together we are stronger... and yes, a reason would be found that has nothing to do with survival but more with 'marking as enemy'.
Labeling/marking/ compartmentalise etc. is a quasi need of our mind...that's why languages had been born e.g. and - by agenda-driven use - gender stereotypes, tools to distract from the real issues etc....
Nevertheless, knowing it...and learning how to keep reasoning simple = focusing on the base, one can change things...at least in the own close environment...and one can create awareness to not fall in the trap to get manipulated (I think...).
