Flop written all over this. Whether it’s June or august. 

I understand …they must need extra time to make important creative decisions like 

- add an item song with and mandatory love track with deepika

- invite the whole industry to do cameos in it

- write more self congratulatory dialogues like “desh ka sawal baccho pe nahin chod sakte”

- write a cheap sequence or two with low brow jokes for “the youth”

- make references to his old films and again , congratulate self

THAT should have been already in the script! It's like looking for Easter Eggs in a Garden...some one sees at the first glance, for others you have to have closer looks.

It only annoyed me in Billu, otherwise I take references with a wink. In Pathaan, there had been a lot of non-SRK movie references, btw. (but it wasn't a RCE production 😉)

Imo, quite often, the "self congratulate" is spiced with self-mockery (like in Happy New Year) which I like. It's like not taking hero and loverboy avatars too serious. Things that import to SRK he mostly shows through his eyes or body language or by speaking up.
