Bringing up Abhishek’s failed theatrical career in this context is not the win everyone thing it is 🙄.  Ash is not making an argument against nepotism or all star kids.  She’s talking about two people specifically.  Alia Bhatt and how Karan Johar helps her.  She’s right, opportunities have always fallen into Alia’s lap.  Not to mention the highly aggressive marketing and PR movements that started right after Highway and still continues.  

Alia has the talent so it’s justified that she’s getting incredible opportunities is not a fair argument either.  Where was her talent with Sadak2 or even with Brahmstra?  Alia is talented, but she’s not talented enough where she can rise above a bad or mediocre script.  Hence she has an unbelievably unfair advantage by having all the great stories fall into her lap.  And Ash isn’t alone in saying this.  Rhea Kapoor made some cracks about Alia on KWK as well.  How bad has Alia’s special privileges had gotten that even other industry people started making snide remarks about it, some to Kjo’s face?  

Alia never had major hits until Raazi it is her jojopa who made her movies before Raazi look like successes. So everything about her is carefully curated. There is nothing wrong in what Aishwarya said but it is not wrong to use privilege either!. Who in their right mind will reject a shortcut to success?!

It’s not just about a nepo kid getting opportunities but also how cunning and shrewd these papa beti duo are… not only they go and hound the directors with an good script but if someone gets a hold of a good script first kjo goes and pressurizes them to give ti to alia and alia lowers her fee as an added incentive to the producer… like in dear zindagi kat was the first choice of director and alia Ans kjo made sure alia got it…

Having a mentor who is the owner of one of the biggest production houses in india, who is willing to go to any lengths to get movies and scripts for you, and then run a massive PR campaign and image washing strategies for your in his popular show… is an unfair advantage…

Also this papa beti duo are not only like this in professional life but in personal too… didn’t kjo say on kwk that they were even calling Vicky on his wedding and pestering him why he didn’t invite them..
