I don’t know what they spent the 200cr on.  Digitally manipulating Ranbir’s face for the entirety of the movie cannot cost that much.  But yea 70 or 80 crores is not believable either.  

Max to max it would be around 120-130 cr

200 cr makes no sense. Pathaan was made in 250 cr. It's impossible that tjmm and pathan had only 40-50 cr difference

Max 100 crores, not more than that. Or 120 crores. But the way movie is performing, don't think it can break even. But bollywood ka kya. Sab human calculators hain. Ghuma phira ke movie ko hit dikha denge. Showing less budget has become like a strategy now a days with most bollywood movies. 

And 50 crores to Ranbir? Upar se manipulating his face with VFX! Okay 👍

200 doesn’t make sense to us but we don’t know the actual breakdown of the numbers.  

As for Pathan, did SRK get a pay up front or is he only getting shares of profit?  If it’s the latter then no fee for the star can really bring down the budget whereas in case of Ranbir and TJMM it could have really raised the budget.  If we take Ranbir’s 50cr fee off it comes down to 150 🤷🏽‍♀️

SRK did not charge YRF...he makes arrangements that don't touch the budget, if I'm not mistaken.

Red Chillies VFX (the colour department) was involved in the film-work, btw.

Edit: there is an article where Pathaan's budget is more detailed (Wikipedia site, footnote 2), but it's not a reliable source, imo.

Even if you subtract Shah s fees, Pathan still had more vfx shots than tjmm. Plus it was heavily shot in foreign countries. 

So, the difference of just being 50 crs does not add up imho

Plus Vikram Vedha s budget was 175 cr. Hritik is surely a way bigger star than Ranbir. Even war was made in the same range.

Stating 200 cr for TJMM seems fishy to me (does BOI-site have an agenda relative to Luv Ranjan or Ranbir?)

A Hit tag does nothing for a star.

 Yes, ,when a Kabir Singh makes 275 crs,the hero does get films and benefits.. but they too last till the next film. Sanju made 300 + crs. Uri and Simbba  made 250 crs.   Fans continue to fight over these numbers for years. But benefits to the  star varies.

It is just not worth fighting for that touch and go hit films. A few crores more or less makes a difference only to those who invested in the film. Why should fanns fight for producers and distributors..

Well, if you subtract Ranbir’s fees the difference with Pathan becomes 100cr.  It is possible that Bushan rounded up and the budget is around 180 or something, including Ranbir’s fees.  Because in this day and age where everyone talks about budget and recovery (ignoring distribution costs etc) why would he just blurt out a high number like that?  Twice?  That actually hurts public perception.  

Suddenly BOI ,which has always played favorites with Ranbir, has fallen from grace. Oh boy😅😭

Let's say tjmm s budget is 180 cr. Ranbir s fee is 50 cr. So, subtracting that 130 cr for a rom-com? Even if you include the de-aging technique.  When movies like war and Vikram vedha took 170-175 cr with way more vfx shots and action sequences. Plus HR is a bigger star. 

That s not possible. I am sure Bhushan was just bragging. Why? Because he is dumb, riding on a high horse.  😆
