Thank you for this🤗

Everything about the scene was beautiful but reading a poem gives different kind of happiness.

Hey mili, about Katha asking viaan not wait:

I think she understood that he's in love so asked him not to wait to tell that person, to confess.

Thank you soo much for the translation, Columbia! One can always trust you with your writing 💛

The whole poem scene was so stunningly shot. It reminded me of the poetic scenes towards the beginning of the show, with Viaan's monologues about the dark night. 🌌

Hindi is not my first language. I understood the essence of the words. My heartfelt gratitude to you for explaining the poem so beautifully🤗

It's the most beautiful scene of the show till date. I was absurdly touched by Viaan's expressions, his voice and the way he lied face down on the bed. Rarely will we witness seeing a man fall in love in this way on ITV. We usually have the women twirling around in joy. Everything is different about this show. It dares show the sensitive side of men. Men can be giddy in love, and men can cry without thinking that it makes them appear weak.

Did you also explain the chai scene in the previous episode? I felt that Katha forgave Viaan but I did not fully understand her words. I just saw the relief on Viaan's face. Finally he can breathe😊no subtitles from where I am watching the show...

Thanks Columbia for beautifully explaining. I am overwhelmed with last episode. I never imagined love realisation of a man can be this beautiful in ITV. I am yet in disbelief that we are watching an ITV show like this

Adnan is excellent. Without a single dialogue, only poetry and his subtle expressions. Mind blowing. I forgot for a few moments that I am sitting on my couch and watching a show. It was just being played out and I was being completely absorbed and being a part of it.

Aditi was brilliant, how she changed her expressions from happiness to sudden guilt after watching Adi's pictures. She will take some time to accept her feelings. She has to fight herself and then with others. Viaan-Katha has a long way to go before they get into a common point

Special mention to writers, a great poem and dialogues. And appreciation to camera team and director, creative director for choice of colours, shades, light angles to make it so special

My fav lines:

Voh mujhse baat karti hai

Yeh kehke khaas karti hai

Voh Haske dheere se khusiyaar karti hai

Voh dekhti hai meri aur surkh mere halaat karti hai

When she lifted her palms, she remembered Viaan. She smiled and then she saw Adi's pics. It will be hard for her. She would have been content to spend her life with Adi's memories, and being mother/best friend of her son. She did not expect Viaan to happen to her.

The subtleties and grace of this show are unexpected, and most welcome.

Such a beautiful episode...even though we have a mother who is reading her son's diary in secret, who does not confront him but emotionally manipulates him...the son who is unaware or maybe overlooks the mother's manipulations. An introvert at heart, I have spent my life observing people...It always amazes me that people let others manipulate them in the name of 'love'. What kind of love is it where there is no respect, choice or space? I hope the writers deal with the conflict which will brew between mother and son in a mature and sensible way. I have many issues where MamaR is concerned.

Yesterday's episode was so lovely. I have no words to praise it. Itv se itni ummeed hi nahi thi😆 kamaal kar diya makers ne. Maine to unki ab tak ki sari galtiyan maaf kar di kal ka episode dekh kar😆 lekin expectations aur bahut badh gaye ab.

Viaan ki shayri mein sab tha...sab kuch. Angst, guilt, longing, realisation, love. All weaved together beautifully.

Thank u so much dear.🤗

Love you for this.

For me the best line was ...

Jab tak maine jugnu ko nahi dekha tha...

Ek jugnu dikha hei toh aur bhi honge..❤️

And this jugnu brought the light in his life and nights are no more dark nights.

As parents we Indians tend to think of ourselves as ‘owners’ and our kids as our agents (with limited agency of their own even as adults), while the hard truth of parenting is that we are only custodians of our children’s lives until the time that they find their feet. After that we can be guides, but never owners.

Anyone know who is the writer who wrote these lines for the show? I didn’t think such fine writers existed in itv.

@ bold - yes. This is not a translation but an interpretation of the poem, specifically leaning on its structure and how the structure has been used a device to understand Viaan’s feelings. I feel many things are lost in direct translation.

I know the show is directed by Ravi Bhushan, he is known to be extremely sensitive writer too. He wrote a lovely web movie called badnam gali on surrogate mother, it was extremely sensitively written.
Inder Das who is also credited as director is a typical TRP shows director, so I don’t think the poem came from him.
