I think I've asked this question before, but what the heck? Asking again and hoping for more responses.

Lemme know what you guys think.

Dibakar is a maverick, but Shoojit is more consistent IMO.

Dibakar's good is very good ( Khosla Ka Ghosla, Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar) but his bad is unbearable (Oye lucky, Byombkesh Bakshi).

Shoojit on the other hand is damn good and a brilliant storyteller in almost every movie ( Piku/October is the best, worst was Gulabo Sitabo).

Thoughts???

I would have said Dibakar a few years ago. But he lost his mojo pretty quickly. I blame Karan. So Shoojit.

I like Dibakar's Byomkesh though ðŸ˜†

You know when Ross/Chandler were arm wrestling and someone said their both really strong. But Joey popped in and said "or perhaps equally weak"

Thats my thought on these 2. I think I only really like 1 film from each. (Vicky Donor and OLLO)

I'd take this montage from Oye Lucky over anything Shoojit has made apart from Piku.

Shoojit, he is more versatile  yahaan, piku, sardar udham, vicky donor, madras cafe, october, all are diverse  and he has more hits than misses

with madras cafe, october, yahaan are avg to good

piku, vicky donor, sardar udham are great and sardar udham was recent

only miss is gulabo sitabo

dibakar is more one tone and has many more misses with his first being his best (khosla ka ghosla)

lucky is good but not great after that

titli, love dhoka are also fine but give me anurag kashyap b team vibes and anurag itself is  b-c now

they need to keep away from kjo, ekta types

"the better director"??? Why even ask THAT? They both made good/entertaining/watch-worthy movies...and keeping away from Dharma and  Balaji? Well, Shoojit anyways didn't make a movie with them (if I'm not mistaken)...and the two Dibakar made with them, I haven't watched (out of no-interest)

As a whatever box office result doesn't determine my perception of a movie I watch, I just would say: anytime a new movie from them, I would watch...(if I've the time).
