It’s sad though that one has to do all of this to win and can’t do it on the basis of merit alone.

10 million is not a lot for an Oscar campaign. You need to campaign, but there needs to be some inherent interest and reasonable quality. I mean Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar mounted even more expensive campaigns for a single nomination and didn't even qualify.

50 crore/10 million = 80 crore/x

Therefore, x = 16 million?

Unrelated but Kendrick Lamar was completely robbed of his win, and wasn't even nominated.

Well the closest film to international recognition sans huge campaign was Mother India, and rarely will a film ever unite a nation like that one did. It's basically India's far better version of what Gone With the Wind was for American awards.

Yay..!!!!!!!

how cute are they with their traditional clothes and excited faces 🥹🥹🥹

It had merit coz it was recieved with applause wherever screened …which is why the campaign took it up a notch higher and gave it the platform it deserved

No one will pour in 80 crores for campaigning any random movie..

What a slap on Bollywood’s face. This is what they deserve after all the mindless politics and throat-shoving they do with their little gang

10 million is 80 Cr. I disregarded Voldy's number 😆

Standard Oscar spending is north of 20 million

I’m assuming that’s a typo Marooni and you meant to type MM Keeravani.  Yes he was the one who won and accepted the award.
