I have recieved such racist comment from my pure vegetarian batchmates in school particularly from baniya community.
Does he not like fish ? Also he’s running for something ?
.
What did he exactly say? It's not clear
Is it racist or xenophobic?
But as someone said, it is not uncommon for vegetarians in India to make weird comments on non-vegetarians.
How is it racist to talk about eating habits?

The French are rude. Bengalis love fish. Marwaris are stingy af. Punjabis love drinking. Gujjus own all motels. Stereotypes in my opinion tend to largely be true and exist for a reason.
Rahi baat illegal immigrants ki, sure call it xenophobia but the average Indian probably isn’t going to want an illegal Rohingya migrant living next door to them.
