I agree. Female contestants used to win only when there was no public voting and we had contests like Sa re ga ma or Meri Awaaz suno won by Shreya and Sunidhi.

IDK why female contestants get less votes and why even women viewers do not support women.

In fiction also on IF itself I have seen women sort of bashing female actors and characters more while going a bit less harsh on male actors and characters.

Women supporting women is kind of rare in fandoms perhaps...

Women go gaga over singers with good looks and vote for them rather than talent😆

I feel so sad whenever I see a talented female audition for indian idol, because I know she's just wasting her time and wont win.😭 Perhaps they know that already too, and only come to get fame.

I think Arunita only came 2nd last year and was popular due to being linked with PD. Otherwise I found her more deserving than him, even Sayli.

I don't understand how females manage to win SRGMP though. Perhaps their votes are rigged😆

Ques: Do female audience support female stars?

Ans: Not directly, but indirectly.

b/cos

In a movie starring Taapsee or Kangana ...

The CINEMA female fanbase will usually not be that high

As compared to a movie starring Tiger ...

that's complemented with a Disha, Kiara or Tara 👍🏼

I had said this in another thread you will find women rarely support another women. So same with female fans supporting actress.

My that post was never hating women but stating a harsh reality.

Women are the gatekeepers of Patriarchy. But I would never say that women lack power, money or to make decisions. We'd rather spend our precious time and money on more important things. Movies just don't figure in the list of priorities. That said, I would always prefer to see a scrumptious hero in a well-written film. Though I do want the heroine to have a proper arc and be an equal to the hero rather than an easily replaceable flowerpot.

Let us address a movie starring Taapsee - Shabaash Mithu

Ques: Was it a well scripted woman centric movie ?

Ans: Yes

Ques: On a Budget of 48 crore... Why were collections only about 3 crore ?

Ques: Would this not be the type of movie female audiences should want to watch ?

The typical characteristics of heroism often bordering on fantasy and escapism is mostly attributed to the male heroes in cinema and very little to female which is why we as audience are more comfortable with the popular male hero portrayal that enthralls us. The star aura of male stars which is a result of their fictional characters translates to real life admiration as well.
