Since, the Hollywood forum is pretty dead, we are in the middle of the season RRR is in the Oscar conversation and I am bored, is there anybody interested in discussing the Oscar baits or the award season ðŸ˜†

Here are the films currently with the best odds for the Best Picture nomination

  • The Fabelmans (Steven Spielberg)
  • Everything, Everywhere all at Once (The Daniels)
  • The Banshees of Inisherin (Martin McDonagh)
  • Top Gun: Maverick (Joseph Kosinski)
  • Women Talking (Sarah Polley)
  • Tar (Todd Field)
  • Babylon (Damien Chazelle)
  • The Woman King (Gina Prince-Bythewood)
  • Elvis (Baz Luhrman)
  • Glass Onion (Rian Johnson)

And Best International Film

  • Close (Belgium)
  • Holy Spider (Denmark)
  • Saint Omer (France)
  • Decision to Leave (South Korea)
  • All Quiet on the Western Front (Germany)

Not a fan of Elvis movie, but Tar was amazing. Even Banshees of Inisherin is great. A perfect blend of humor and tragedy. Collin Farell did a great work. I wish these 2 movies to win big.

Did most of these movies even get a theatrical release?

It is on Netflix but I still hesitate to watch it.

What was your impression, Bleue? (if you don't mind to tell...even as pm)

In my country, quite none of the movies has yet released (some will release in 2023 only). Two are on amazon Prime but stil as payed movie. The only other movie for free is the Woman King (did someone here watch it?).

So, although I would like to participate but with just Maverik already watched it's a bit 'meager' as personal movie-experience...

In which country?

In the US, everything except Glass Onion has had a theatrical release. And even that has a one week theatre release before moving to Netflix.

Elvis, Top.Gun and Everything, everywhere all at once are the big grossers here and have all had releases in India. I think the woman king also had a release in India.  The rest probably a mix of streaming and February releases.

Babylon and Women Talking have not been released yet.

Banshees is a very depressing movie. But yeah wonderful performances by all four main members.

I like Tar but I would lose it if Cate Blanchett upsets Michelle Yeoh ðŸ˜†
