Dishari: "As much as this hurt to see the covers coming on again with South Africa seconds away from a victory, but Zimbabwe have not been able to bowl Muzarabani and Jongwe in these slippery wet conditions. They already lost Ngarava bowling in the rainy condition. Hope it is not too serious to miss the rest of the world cup. Either way seems unfair for the teams - cricket should be played indoors?" Agree
Called off! Rain and South Africa - a story for the ages. Rain wins again.
The rain has come down hard and the umpires are calling on for the covers. Is rain going to rob South Africa at a World Cup again? The cut-off time is in eight minutes. South Africa are ahead as far as the five-over DLS target is concerned. So, essentially, if the rain relents, they just need to come out, not even face a ball; just get the ground ready and get ready to bowl; doesn't matter if it rains after that
Dru: "After winning the toss Zim should have bowled. When there is rain around chasing is much easier. A big opportunity missed."
The match called off.
There is no result. Both teams have to play a minimum of 5 overs to get a result and it is simply impossible under the conditions.
Zimbabwe already lost a bowler. They can't risk losing one more.
They both share a point each.
Cheers..
Nobody won Madhu. They shared a point each.
Cheers..
bechare south africa walo ka kismat hi phuti hai
this always happens to them in a wc
rain or bad luck will always ruin their chances somehow
What? They already declared Zim won the match by 12 runs [ how they calculated I don't know!!]Originally posted by: Savera84

OK.. Congos cancelled and
now good night!
Thank you, Raji, for this friendly support throughout this rain washed match. π€
Poor South Africans. Rain always plays a role in ruining their chance to advance. I think it all started in Australia years ago.Originally posted by: RandomWaliLadki

South Africa, World Cup and rain; we have seen that story before and it has reached a stage where the South African supporters will be like "Why always us?", but that's nature and there's very little anyone can do. This result is a huge dent for their semi-final hopes as it will leave them in a must-win situation in the rest of the games. Zimbabwe will take a point happily as it ensures they start their Super 12s without a defeat. That's all for today. Tomorrow we have the defending champions seeking to bounce back against Sri Lanka. Do join us for that. Until next time, goodbye and stay safe..
yeah there was a game where they needed 23 off 12 and had a chance to win it till there was rain and it reduced to 22 off 1. This D/L method makes no sense sometimesOriginally posted by: Savera84
