Craig Ervine: We will have a bat. Getting runs on the board will be a good start, the wicket will quicken up as the game goes on. Having played a few games, hopefully we will start off well. No changes for us. We had an incredible week and got some really important and hopefully we can put another good performance tonight.

Zimbabwe have won the toss and have opted to bat

As soon as the anthems are done, the rain has made an appearance again. The groundstaff are coming out. What a frustrating delay this is. The hessian is now being covered on the pitch. This delay should not be for long.

"Is "Hobart in October" a slightly warmer and drier version of "Manchester in March"? One wants to take the games to different States but perhaps Hobart was not an inspired choice at this time of year." It's not looking warmer or drier at the moment that's for sure.

19:29 Local Time, 08:29 GMT, 13:59 IST: Here's our man Telford Vice from the venue: "The entire wicket table remains covered, and by the relaxed look of the groundstaff nothing is going to change anytime soon." Not great news that even as the players patiently sit in their places on their dugouts, waiting for the rain to subside.

Match start delayed due to rain

Shawn: Bavuma should focus on playing himself in with low risk approach, and anchor the innings. Let the big-hitters bat around him and lift the run rate for a rain-impacted game. Will be good for him to find touch without strike rate pressure.

19:50 Local Time, 08:50 GMT, 14:20 IST: More bad news from Telford Vice: "It is indeed raining now, as my hand test has ascertained. Quite heavy drizzle. The groundstaff, who were standing on the covers, are leaving the field. Seems they've decided it isn't going to stop soon." And he adds: "Proper rain now. And no wind, which isn't good news." So there you go. Nothing but waiting and hoping for now.
