Looks like this film is more entertaining than LSC according to twitter user reviews. It has mass appeal.
Akki does some good films in between some of the worst films ever made. I think idea works for him.
Release 4 film in a year, at least one is good😆 whereas others do one film in a year even take more time yet there is no guarantee of a good film.
There are negative reviews of this film as well, no wonder there was an embargo on the critics from both films.

Raksha Bandhan Takes A Low Opening
Thursday 11 August 2022 12.00 IST Box Office India Trade Network
Raksha Bandhan has taken a low opening of around 12-15% as the bigger multiplexes record very low collections. This was likely to happen as its a film relying on word of mouth and Laal Singh Chaddha is a bigger film and the first choice in these multiplexes.
Like Laal Singh Chaddha this film also has little for that initial mass and youth audience so again these opening numbers are not totally unexpected. Raksha Bandhan has opened better than Laal Singh Chaddha at many places like Gujarat, UP and Bihar and generally the Hindi belt is better where Akshay Kumar films tend to open better unless they are urban like a Good News or something. But the Hindi belt is not good just better than Laal Singh Chaddha.
If Raksha Bandhan had a single screen market then it could have given Laal Singh Chaddha a good battle on day one as it has opened better in mass markets but the half decent collections are coming from multiplexes only while singles remain poor and its the same story with Laal Singh Chaddha.
The difference between Raksha Bandhan and Laal Singh Chaddha are the expectations and this film is probably more closer to what was expected from it initially than Laal Singh Chaddha so if it can get good response from the Hindi belts and just manage to compete with Laal Singh Chaddha it could come out with decent results. But to do this it will also need public reports and support of family audiences across Delhi / UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, CPCI and Gujarat as this will be the audience of the film.

Every sister is attributed a physicality she is defined by -- fair (Sadia Khateeb), overweight (Deepika Khanna), dusky (Smrithi Srikanth) and tomboy (Sahejmeen Kaur) -- which ensues in jokes about body shaming (Double Decker), complexion shaming (Amavas Ki Raat), gender nonconformity (Chhota Shakeel).
Only the pretty older sister finds favour with Kedarnath.
Unless they fall in the sundar, susheel bracket, brand them freaks or force them to transform, Raksha Bandhan keenly believes.
The big girl must lose weight, the dark-skinned must slap on the bleach, the Sunny Deol fan must drape in saris and channel all her aggression in chopping veggies.
The worst part is that even in redemptive mode, Raksha Bandhan doesn't bother addressing any of it.
UGH
