Chapter 04

Malhar went to the PS but throughout the time he was thinking about the case while driving. He calmed his features after entering his cabin as he dialed kalyani's number. Kalyani was going to college by rickshaw and she answered the call being a little nervous.

"Hello. Main Acp Malhar Rane bol raha hoon"

"Ji maine number save kar liya tha, aap bataiye mujhe kya karna hain." She tried to sound as normal as possible.

He asked her to keep an eye on the cleaners AKA terrorists and let him know what they are doing so that he can figure out what they are upto.

Kalyani throughout the day tried to follow their instincts and made sure they don't suspect her also.

She then called him after the classes got over and informed him that they are mostly roaming around the chemistry lab only and how they are frequently visiting the lab every now and then.

" Par chemistry lab mein koyi cctv camera nehi hain?" Asked Malhar.

" No Mr.Rane. Kuch din pehle hi camera kharab ho gaya and ab samajh aaraha hain ki kis wajah se kharab hua tha. Also no one cared about repairing it as the practical classes of the students are now off."

"Toh fir abhi chemistry lab mein koyi nehi jata?"

"Nehi abhi toh bas wo log cleaning ke bahane chaabi apne paas rakhte hain."

" Then we should actually somehow fit a cctv camera there to monitor them thoroughly. I don't think it would be a smart move to actually set a camera there so openly kyunki fir toh wo shift kar lenge wahan se. Ms. Kalyani, Kya aap mujhe isme help karengi? Can you set a camera in the lab? Warna agar kisi bhi tarha unn terrorists ko bhanak bhi lagi camera ya humare shak ke bareme toh wo alert ho jayenge aur abhi hum ek bhi galti afford nehi kar sakhte."

"Par Aaj toh chutti ho gayi hain. Abhi jaungi toh unka mujhe dekhke ke chances zyada hain."

"Theek hain then kal main aapko ek camera doonga aap wo laga dena. Par kal lagayenge kab?"

" Cleaning hour mein. College start hone se pehle. Jab cleaners doosra floor clean karenge tab."

"Okay"

They both didn't know how to end the conversation and cut the phone abruptly after the "okay".

The next day Malhar was standing outside her college early in the morning 30 minutes before she had told him to come because of his habit of coming early when no student was there. He called Kalyani to ask where she was and she answered it like "Hello Mr. Rane main aarahi hu. Aap fikar mat kariye." She said while panting.

Malhar was confused and asked "aise kyun baat kar rahi hain aap Ms. Kalyani? Aur aapne hi toh mujhe ye time bola tha"

" Par mujhe dhyaan nehi raha ki itni subha rickshaw nehi milti."

"Toh aap kaise aarahi hain?"

"Chalke, paidal. Aur koyi option hi nehi tha mere paas."

"Aap mujhe apna location bataiye main aata hu abhi."

"Nehi aapko khamakha takleef uthane ki zaroorat nehi hain, main aati hu na abhi"

"Aapke aate aate suraj sar ke upar hoga, aap mujhe bataiye Kahan hain main jeep keke aata hu.

Kalyani sent him her location and stood there still panting and feeling tired.

Malhar came swiftly and let her in. She for the first time in her life rode the jeep and she was mesmerised to see how lively it feels when the jeep goes through the valleys and highway.

"Don't know kaise hoga ye case solved..." Malhar said while looking straightly whole driving.

"Haan mujhe bhi kaafi tension ho rahi hain..."

"Aapko agar darr lag raha hain toh you still can back off. No one will force you literally!"

"Mujhe apni jaan ki nehi balki sabki fikar ho rahi hain. Aapko bhi pata hain kitne log jude hain iss case se. Kitne masoom jaan khetre mein hain kyunki ye atankwadi khula ghoom rahe hain."

"Haan baat to aap theek hi keh rahi hain but ye aapka nehi mera farz hain. Aap toh apni zindagi apni tarah se jee sakhti hain. Inn sab mein padhne ki kya zaroorat hain?" Malhar said as he expects Kalyani to be like any other girl of these days who would give more importance to her own things obviously.

"Mr. Rane, just because you get paid for it doesn't mean it's only your duty to help people, to contribute in rescuing lives. Main bhi iss desh ki nagrik hoon, moreover main ek insaan hoon. Mera bhi equally farz banta hain ki jab bhi desh ke logo ke kaam aasakhu, khushi se apna yogdaan du" Kalyani said with some adamance in her to help as she wants to prove how responsible she is towards her country.

Malhar was highly impressed and amazed by her ethics. He thought today's students don't know the value of motherland and don't know what sacrifices should be made just to protect the county. These thoughts of a person are enough to make a space in his eyes.

Malhar admired this quality of her and kept driving.

And and and... suddenly a bump came and before he could realise he had pressed the break and the cctv camera came in the front as miserably as they both did. They somehow managed to stay uninjured but the camera had to sacrifice his life because of Malhar being a whimsical.

"Aap theek hain Ms . Kalyani?" Malhar almost panicked.

"Ji main theek hu" said Kalyani still in shock about what just happened.

"Aap toh Acp haina? Aap aise gadi chalate hain?!" Kalyani blabbered a little loudly without thinking much.

"Wo a..aa...actually sorry, aisa pehle kabhi nehi hua but pata nehi aaj kaise mera dhyaan hi hatt gaya..." Malhar said with a confused naive face.

"Haan par Mr. Rane kuch gira tha aapke break lagane ke baad"

"Oh damnitttt! Ye camera hi toot gaya!" Malhar was evidently irritated with the incident.

"Agar camera hi nehi rahega fir aaj karenge kya?!! Wait Mr. Rane, abhi bhi wakt hain, abhi tak cleaners wo floor clean karke official rooms ke taraf clean kar rahe honge. 10 minute mein naya kharidke chalte hain"

"Are you sure humare paas time hain?"

"Haan haan bohot time hain don't worry"

They went to the nearby shop and said at the exact time "ek cctv camera dikhana zara"

There was a teenager boy in the counter who looked at them with a little irritated expression as he was sleepily browsing facebook till the second they came in. 

He showed some and they started choosing.

"Ye wala hi liya tha maine first time." Malhar said showing a medium size camera."

"Nehi Mr.Rane ye toh thoda bada hain, easily unn logo ko dikhate jayega. Wo wala lete hain. Sabse chota wala."

" Nehi Ms. Kalyani ye bhi to theek hi hain. Thode chote bade se kya farak padhta hain, iss camera se wider range dikhega"

" Arreh itne se chemistry lab mein wider range mein dekhna kya hain aapko?"

"Par Ms.Kalyani..."

"Arreh Mr. Rane.."

"Ms. Kalyani..."

"Mr. Rane!!!"

"Arreh aap log apna Mr. Mrs. ka jhamela apne ghar pe jaake kariye!! Mera time waste mat kariye aur jaldi kharidke jaiye" Shouted the boy who was the shopkeeper.

They both looked at the shopkeeper with big eyes and then looked at each other and got embaraced.

After a second they both said exactly together in a slightly louder tone to the shopkeeper

"Hum Mr. Aur Mrs. Lagte hain aapko?!!"

And they got even more embaraced. And instantly looked away.

"Arreh jo bhi ho aap log, Subha subha dimaag mat kharab karo. Ek toh ye malik aap jaise customers ke wajah se subha subha baitha deta hain dukan mein"

"Main jeep mein baithti hu aap leke aaiye" said Kalyani and went to the jeep.

Malhar asked the shopkeeper to give the smaller cctv camera the boy smiled in a sly way.

"Dekha sir Aap police wale ho ya no bhi ho, hukum toh humesha madam ka hi chalta hain"

Malhar looked at him with an annlyed look as he grabbed the cctv and left the shop without wasting any other second.

Malhar got into the jeep and fastly started driving to the college.

"Aap mujhe sirf kalyani bhi toh bol sakhte hain" said Kalyani in a slight low tone.

"Toh tum bhi toh Mr. Rane ke alawa kuch bol sakhti ho."

"Haan toh fir Acp sir bolti hu aaj se"

"Maine kab bola Acp sir bulao."

"Toh aap to acp hi hain! Sir nehi bulaungi to kya naam se bulao aapko?!"

"Haan toh maine kab mana kiya" Malhar said casually.

"Jo mann ho bulao KALYANI" Malhar put more force in saying kalyani to tease her where he himself doesn't know why he is teasing her.

" Toh 'Mr. Rane' se kya problem hain?"

"Dekha nehi shop mein kya problem hain?!"

" Par main aapko naam se nehi bula sakhti. Malhar sir bulau?"

"Arreh kalyani sir bolne ko kisne bola?!"

"Arreh to kya bulau?!!" Kalyani said almost screamingly as stopped the car behind the college.

"Jaldi jao warna aaj ka din hi barbaad ho jayega" Malhar said hurrying her as she was leaving with the camera.

He stood their for almost 10 minutes until she called him to say " haan maine perfectly camera fit kar diya hain. Aap check kar lijiye."

" Haan main abhi police station jaake monitor karta hoon." He said as they end the call and Kalyani gets to be the first one to be present in the class.
