Any hopes of an opportunity for the bench players will have to wait until the tour of Ireland later this month, as India will likely retain the XI that earned them a series decider.

Temba Bavuma's left arm was in a sling on Saturday.

If the elbow injury he sustained in Rajkot keeps him out on Sunday, Reeza Hendricks will fill his batting berth and Keshav Maharaj will take over the captaincy.

Kagiso Rabada and Wayne Parnell, who missed the Rajkot game with unspecified niggles, could come back at the expense of Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi.

That would mean Lungi Ngidi - who impressed in his first game in 87 days in Rajkot - could be retained.

What they said:

"As an individual I can look to improve in certain areas. Not too concerned though; looking to take the positives and looking to improve. Let's see what happens in Bangalore." - Rishabh Pant on his form in the series.

"Maybe it's a lack of adaptability on the day that we need to address. Obviously, it's a big game on Sunday, and we need to be more proactive than reactive in these types of situations." - Keshav Maharaj makes a pitch for more mental mobility.

A 5-match Twenty20 international series immediately after a long-drawn IPL might not have been mouth-watering, not after India announced a pretty weakened squad, which was further weakened with injuries. But the first four matches have shown that even a second string Indian side can acquit themselves pretty well, especially at home. Down 0-2 after the first two games, the bowlers have inspired a comeback and it has set-up a decider in Bengaluru.

A small-ground, fast outfield, flat pitch and high altitude has all meant that the Chinnaswamy Stadium is renowned for being a power-hitting contest.

But this ground hasn't hosted an IPL match since 2019, an international T20I since 2019 again, it's raining and raining heavily in the evenings - a regular feature this June in Bengaluru.

The famed subair drainage system might be tested today as well. A spicy end to an ultra-competitive series?

If there is no rain intervention, losing the toss and batting first will be beneficial!

This losing streak will end here, because , all the big players and KL Rahul will be back to team to lead from the front in future games. πŸ˜ƒ
