These are all grey areas, not just for celebs but for regular people and most specifically the Governments. There is always a huge debate between source of greater revenues vs the public hazard and strain it puts on public health infrastructure. It honestly makes little sense to corner celebs in this regard. All of us witnessed how the taxation alcohol became a significant source of revenue for Governments during the times of Covid! If one wants a solution to these problems, they will come through policy interventions. Yeh celebs toh bas chote mote players hai iss mein. They are trolled because people can troll them easily.

Though I despise such adverts, are people such trashy loonies that they need celebrities to tell them that it's not okay to spit in public?

Banning gutka will achieve nothing because unhygienic scums will still chew paan and spit.
