With men there is always talk of Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Kabir Bedi, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah when it comes to voice, dialogue delivery, voice modulation skills, diction, pronunciation and command over language. They have succeeded as narrators also.

With actresses there is rarely any talk of actresses with good voices, stable voices and great command over language, diction, pronunciation and voice modulation skills.

Which actresses (from any era or even regional industry) you think, have had good voice and language skills and could make great narrators if a female voice had to be used?

My pick would be Rekha as she has mesmerising voice and has dubbed for other films and actresses in 80s and 90s as well. Others would be Vidya Balan, Smita Patil, Lara Dutta, Madhuri Dixit who I feel have good voices, good pronunciation, diction and voice modulation, command over language.

Among newbies I think Sara has a clear voice and her Hindi and English are good.

Which actresses can be remembered for having good, clear, stable voice and good language skills? Or would sound good as narrators?

Rekha and madhuri definitely

Vidya definitely, I like rani too.

but agree with all the ones you listed

Sara has great potential, because she has the modulation off screen, had it in kedarnath...

Sridevi, Kangana, Hema, Tabu, Deepika, Sonam, Kapoor sisters, Rani, Nutan, Waheeda, Shabana, Saira, Sadhana, Raveena, Divya, Neelam, Manisha are better not talked of when it comes to effective and solid voice quality or something that would sound good, effective on radio, podcasts, Audible or as narrators.

Some yesteryear actresses had squeaky voices.

Among older actresses I think Mala Sinha could have made a good AIR news reader. Her language and voice suited it.
