As much as SaiRat is dil ka sukoon, I am getting really disturbed by the amount of mental torture and harassment that Sai is subjected to every day. The breakdown of such a strong girl, by constantly abusing her values, her marriage, her family, her status, her financial situation, her studies, her future plans - it's heartbreaking, to say the least. She is a young 18/19 year old girl, living in a house full of criminals - who are being whitewashed, by the way - who are advising her on morals, values, and the meaning of family. Why is this mental harassment being normalized in a show that's on the top of the TRP charts? This is a way to give a strong social message about mental health by showing its importance in a top show - but no, instead Sai is constantly being mentally abused, and also threatened for physical abuse by so-called elders of the family - and they are going to change once Samrat comes back, because of course they will believe the man and not the woman. I am not able to even enjoy the SaiRat scenes like before because of the vindictive and systematic harassment perpetrated especially by Patralekha (whose actress claims that she is not a villain because she cries, and who gets sad background music to boot) - who is lying through her teeth about her feelings, her relationship and her values to keep herself white in the eyes of the people who only see Sai as black. Today was the limit - after Sai has said sorry to her mother - who is also an unbelievable bitch by the way - and to the family - she still has the bloody balls to say "tumhari koi galti nahi hai na" - ridiculous.

Why does Sai have to put up with this crap? Why whitewash these people? What kind of message do the makers want to give? Why do this and normalize this behaviour as the values of a "joint family"? I have read that Ninad will slowly learn to appreciate and accept Sai - but at the end of the day, he is a criminal, which Sai knows about. And Sonali's little character development is thrown down the drain the next day. Is she seriously ok with her son, and even sometimes her daughter-in-law, also being subjected to such abuse? Why not seriously have Virat and Sai actually move out then, and live alone?

Not to even touch upon the sexual harassment that Patralekha is constantly perpetrating, by standing outside the room of her ex-God-only-knows-what-but-definitely-not-lover plus brother-in-law, listening to his talks with his wife, his opening his heart to his best friend, and touching him against his expressed consent. All of which is being justified as love. Khair chhodo.

I just wish the show could be used to build awareness about mental health and give a strong message. It's not the same kind of society as it was even when KD came out. People are more aware, and this show is reaching a larger audience. TRP audience ka pata nahi, but I am sure if this continues, the online audience will start drying up more, and even SaiRat won't be able to save them then.

Sorry - I usually never make posts, but today seeing Sai breakdown really hit me hard. I work with young girls and boys in an NGO for children, and I understand how the smallest thing affects their self esteem and causes mental trauma, especially for children who have lost a parent / parents at a young age. I found today's round of harassment too triggering.
