Who can pull off the role of sita?

Sai pallavi is charming elegant and so naturally graceful......she makes you smile when she smiles and she's always pleasant.....idk why I feel she'll be the best choice for the role of sita 

In my opinion Kareena is most unfit for role of sita with her loud personality and most importantly lacks that groundedness. But more than other things its her voice that is too sexy not soothing types something that can portray calm

Even Amrita Rao  would be a good choice 

Shradha kapoor might be a dark horse  

Vidya Balan might be a good experiment as she can act the best of the current lot I'm sure. Plus she has a good hindi...

The problem is unfortunately I don't see any of current lot actresses, item number specialising bollywood girls,   be able to pull off graceful characters like sita

I have admited to never being an Aishwarya Rai fan but given her command over devanagri hindi and classical dancing and of course the way she carries herself has so much more elegance she would be a good choice for sita compared to current lot of actresses...but even she has her short comings.....but anyway it's very unlikely she will be considered 

Sai pallavi is my best bet....I truly feel she deserves this chance

None of the listed actresses can play her 

Events of Ramayana took place when Ma Sita was in her 20s, somehow I get the feeling that all these actresses will reduce her to a wife like Deepika in Padmavat couldn't shine even though she had the titular role

Spot on exactly why I can't stop thinking sai pallavi is a great bet....

even I don't want it to be like Deepika's padmavat....weak actor or character I'm not sure... it ruined the essence of rani padmavat that I had heard of in stories.....but I don't want to get into that it's an endless debate

I don't mind a new face but there's hardly any new face(not nepo kid) launched anymore!!!...

Why do old women have to play the role of Sita. 

 This is as yuck as Amir Khan  and Madhavaram and the third guy playing 20 year old freshers in 3 idiots. 

Vidya Balan and Kareena for God sakes are old enough to play Sita's mother in law. 

Other actors are also old. 

Says a lot about the Indian movie industry north and south that cannot get a good looking decent acting 20 year old to play the role of Sita. 

Have you seen Marvel's Spiderman. Spiderman is a teenager played by an age appropriate actor. Imagine Robert Downey Junior (Iron Man)  playing Spiderman's role and hanging out in highschool

That is how vidya balan will look as Sita. 

So what if she is good looking and a great actress. How can she play a 14 year old Sita in her swayamvar or a 27 year old when Ravana kidnaps her. For that matter any of the actresses above. 

I wish I could say that there are few options in the age group of 20 to 30 who can pull of this character in terms of their acting skills in acting and not an eye sore to look at. But truth is these days in bollywood the actresses don't know acting. Bollywood movies are getting unbearable by the day in their macho-ism

Also if the actress is too young how can she emote out with the maturity of 40 year old?

Although I do agree even for Vidya ...she wouldn't be my first choice.....it's Just there is not much options to choose from

The onlyyyy reason you don't see deepika padukone in that list is she alrady ruined one Rani Padmavati for me cannot give her another role of such importance to ruin.

Amrita is definitely an option but she might seem aa bit old for some parts of the plot

I like deepika she performed the role gracefully and had to endure death threats 

I would prefer someone new, young & who can act well. I don't think someone like that is available in BW. So auditioning for a fresh face maybe?

The ones in this list are way past the age of playing a teenager.

About deepika, I don't think she can act in these kinda magnum opus dramas....it's her PR that hypes her  up, she's more suited for cocktail, yjhd, CE. 

It's the exact things like the death threat, supporting jnu students and shit like that that she does in the name of PR/promotions before movies release that I would rather her not do sita....lest the movie will be remembered for all wrong reasons 

Let me not deviate from topic onto deepika

Amrita has that poise and looks relatively young too and a clean image too would love to see her again

Exactly!!! Thank you for agreeing the list is the best of what I could th in nk off from the current actresses 

They still audition? When was the last time a fresh face was launched with a decent debut vehicle? anushka sharma?..... I'm not counting those look alikes salman khan launched...it's not fair
