Everyone sat around the table chattering when Raavi and Rishita came out of the kitchen.
The entire table suddenly grew silent and waited to see what the matter was. But the two looked at each other and smiled.
“Lagta hain aaj saheli hain, sautan nahin.” Krish said under his breath.
Dhara gave him a death stare and he shut up.
“Aaj humne dessert banaya,” Rishita said excitedly.
“Sab ke liye,” Raavi added to which Rishita blushed recalling her pizza incident.
Recovering quickly she quipped, “Maine Strawberry Shortcake banaya. I know Dev and Krish both like it a lot. And Raavi mentioned it’s your favorite too Dhara Bhabhi.”
“Arrey wah, said Dhara. “Main toh bahut pasand karti hoon.” Rishita beamed and placed her cake on the center.
“Aur Raavi tu?”
“Maine Carrot Cake banaya,” She said excitedly.
“Gaumbi aur Rishita dono ki favorite hain. Issmein walnuts aur raisins bhi dalein maine.”
Dhara smiled until she realized what Raavi said. She instantly looked at Shiva whose face fell. But he quickly masked it with indifference.
Rishita and Raavi began serving the dessert along with piping hot tea.
Shiva quickly got up before Raavi got to him and left, almost knocking past Rishita. “Isse kya hua? Har waqt gussa.”
After a few minutes, Dhara pulled Raavi aside. “Raavi, tujhe pata hain na ke Shiva ko walnuts se allergy hain. Woh kuch kahaan nahin lekin usse bahut bura laga.” Dhara was feeling bad but Raavi just smiled, whispered something in her ear and excused herself from the room.
Shiva walked to his room muttering about Chipkali aur Uski Saheli. “Mujhe kya, woh joh chahein banayein, khayein aur khilayein.” But as much as he denied it, he did feel bad. She knows he is allergic to walnuts and doesn’t like carrot cake at all yet that’s what she chose to make. Sabki pasand yaad hain usko, except for his. Of course, why would he matter. She didn’t even bother to give him tea that day. Chipkali kahin ki!
Flinging open the door to their room, he was shocked when he saw the beautiful arrangement kept on the table. In the center was a delicious looking chocolate cake decorated with strawberries.
Shiva couldn’t help but smile when he saw the note attached. Bhootnath ke liye uska favorite chocolate cake.
“Achcha laga?” He turned around to find her smiling with mischievous eyes.
Shiva felt his cheeks heating up. He loved it! But of course, he couldn’t tell her that.
“Tu blush kar raha hain,” she said smirking.
“Aye MaamiKiBehenKiBeti, main blush vush nahin karta. Tujhe dekh kar hamesha ghussa aata hain.”
“Acha, aur cake dekh kar?”
For once, Shiva didn’t know what to say.
“Chocolate cake hain... Kutub Minar nahin ke isse dekh kar khush ho jaun.”
Raavi couldn’t help but laugh. Deciding to give him a pass and not embarrass him further, she stepped into the room and closed the door. Plus she had bigger and better plans.
“Aye Chipkali, neche jaa aur teri saheli ki madat kar.”
“Woh Dev kar lega. Mujhe teri madat karni hain.” She giggled at the look of horror on Shiva’s face.
As Raavi stepped closer, Shiva swallowed hard. But he didn’t protest, instead his eyes followed her as she stepped past him and took a piece of the cake.
Holding it to his lips, she lightly brushed against them until he opened his mouth and took a bite. The cake was just perfect but he couldn’t focus. Not with his heart racing and his blood rushing.
Raavi stood in front of him licking the tip of her fingers slowly. Did the silly girl know what on earth she was doing to him!
Shiva tried to get a grip on himself. He cleared his throat but couldn’t get himself to say anything. Raavi looked up and met his eyes. He could see the humor in them telling him that she was doing this on purpose.
They stared at each other for a few seconds, the air thick with the unresolved passion and tension between them.
After some time Raavi smiled, unlocked the door and left. Even thought she didn’t say anything, she definitely got the last word. Once Shiva was able to gather this thoughts, he decided payback was due and soon!
