Well said Vijay.  Donation shouldn't be an obligation. It should be felt as caring and sharing when needed, not as giving.

After Pat Cummins Donates 37 Lakh, haters bash Kohli without knowing how much he’s done already. Looking at the contributions made by the Australians, people are upset at the captain of Team India, Virat Kohli, for not making such donations.  Many have evidently forgotten the kind of massive contribution Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma had made for the very same cause.

The ongoing covid lockdown is working on our nerves. More than 1 year we are staying away from the outside world. That is impacted on our state of mind. This IPL is a big relief .

By playing in this adverse situation, the players are contributing immensely. They are risking their lives and staying away from their families in these difficult times itself is a big donation.

We can't count everything in numbers and it will be difficult to say whether it is good or bad, it is good for now. Let us spend a few hours away from disease and suffering.

IPL is a big relief for millions.

Well said points by Vijay sir, Madhu, Raji and Suyash. They covered it all👏 and I agree with der povs👍🏼

Like Suyash said we dont know who donated n who didnt as they keep it private n not share to world, like few days ago Brett Lee donated money but only few mentioned this in news.

So in the end I just wanna say that BCCI took a right decision for not cancelling/postponing IPL. So many ppl associated with IPL has a job due to this, so many ppl at home r glued to IPL matches and this IPL matches have brought some happiness in our life.

Thanks Madhu for this topic👍🏼

Hope is a powerful thing. It inspires us to do the impossible and helps us carry on during difficult times. And hope can come in many shapes and forms. It may be through our favorite music, or a good book, or even by watching the  sports playing with good spirit.

From where we sit, in the apparent security of our homes, we feel more connected intuitively with the world, by watching the IPL.

We all have had experiences when fate hands us a wake-up call , in the form of pandemic: we have lost someone, faced a serious illness, felt our identity crumble, experienced a reversal of fortune or even when we have been betrayed at the time of our tragedy. On the human level, it takes courage to love, to risk and to remain open to life in the face of uncertainty and constant change.

We want to gather our loved ones around us now, find our true purpose and express the joy of being alive. We somehow feel more connected to life, while watching the IPL matches with family.

Friends please watch this....

A video of an ambulance driver dancing with a baraat while donning a PPE kit in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani outside the Sushila Tiwari Medical College has gone viral on social media.

I dont know if it should continue or not, but I feel that player participation should be voluntary. I doubt if that is so? With such huge stakes and millions that they buy players for, I dont think the players have a choice to sit at home if they are not feeling safe in the give scenario. They have families and loved ones, so I think - if it is by choice that they are playing, then all good - IPL should continue. But if it is being forced upon one and all, I think it should rather be called off. It is the same situation as in a job or say if you teach somewhere. Till the time the Govt. imposed a lockdown, the individual offices or schools could not call in their employees. When the lockdown was removed, all these decisions were left to an individual. And how can one sit home if their employer is asking them to report? Or you loose your job? So risk your life and go out.

@ smallwonder, The organisers assured the players that anyone who wants to return can return at any time. But BCCI has assured them of their safety and well-being.

“All of us are seeing, discussing with each other. We completely understand that the situation is grim. BCCI like any other organization is completely with the people of the country in these difficult times. But we have a job to do and also have a responsibility towards our cricketers and the sport. We are trying to do that job to the best of our abilities. Please understand that IPL also brings in a lot of joy for the entire country. We will continue the league as of now”, declared one of the top BCCI official via SMS to Inside Sport.

Apart from Cummins and Lee, Indian cricketers like Harbhajan Singh and Aakash Chopra have also supported the country in this noble cause with their needful donations to help in this tough fight against Covid-19.

It's not the question that IPL is responsible for spreading the virus or not, it's about our morality as a society, community. Feroz Shah Kotla is 500 meters away from LNJ hospital (where one person is dying in every 4 minutes). All these players tweeted #indiaagainstpropoganda. Well this is what actually propaganda is, we failed as a society, and our superstars failed humanity. 80% of cricket earning comes from india, and BCCI makes full use of this power, well today those 80% are the ones who are dying. When sunil chetri says that " guys I am on your team" and gives his social media for amplifying, that's what we need. Everybody failed india Today, all our institution. And a sport that we loved even that failed us today. Not speaking is as sinful as speaking something wrong, supporting  wrong government to save their image. I don't care if IPL continues or not, but I do know the difference between real and fake superstars.

Today's news of 2 KKR players tested covid positive and the match getting postponed is the right decision. There are rumours floating that some people are not taking this Bio Bubble seriously.

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/ipl/top-stories/ipl-2021-three-csk-members-test-positive-then-negative-bcci-needs-to-take-a-hard-call-on-ipl/articleshow/82369242.cms

Even 3 players of CSK first tested positive and negative in the followup is bound to make the players jittery.
