Rishita found a place which was a 3 miles hike from their kuldevi temple. It was supposed to have a beautiful view and Rishita thought she could go on a romantic walk with her Dev, and click some pictures for her Facebook. What she didn’t expect was Shiva-Raavi joining them on Dhara bhabhi’s insistence. Even Dev agreed. She begrudgingly had to agree too, but she wanted to make the best of the situation so she tried to distract Dev from time to time so that they would slow down and hopefully put some distance between the couples.
Rishita’s plan worked because when Raavi looked back, she couldn’t see Dev and Rishita following them. She looked at Shiva and said, “Hume wait karna chahiye.”
“Koi zaroorat nahi hai. Unka wait karenge toh kal pahuchenge.”
Shiva didn’t want to come. He was mad at Dev, ever since he chose Rishita during their wedding ceremony. It was Dev’s fault everything got so messed up. If he’d told Raavi, she would’ve backed out, and none of this would have happened. He had told Dev not to give so much attention to Raavi from the beginning. Everyone knew about her intention of becoming a Pandya bahu. It was obvious she would latch onto Dev since he was giving her so much attention.
“Shiva!” Raavi suddenly shouted.
“Kya hua?”
“Woh dekh!” Raavi smiled. “Waha golagappe mil rahe hai. Chal khaate hai.”
“Mujhe nahi khana.” Shiva said.
“Mujhe toh khana hai. Chal na.” This time she didn’t wait for his answer, she just dragged him to the golagappa stall. “Bhaiyya do jagah mein dijiye. Mujhe mirchi thoda kam, aur iske wale mein extra nimbu.”
Shiva was surprised. Raavi remembered how he liked his golgappe. It had been years since they had golgappe together. Dhara bhabhi would take them out for golgappe when they were children. She then proceeded to eat all the golgappes hungrily. Her smile didn’t leave her face and Shiva too, couldn’t help but smile at her. She took extra ten golgappes after Shiva was finished. Shiva was dumbstruck seeing how much this little chipkali could eat.
“Maine kitne dino baad golgappe khay pata hai!” She exclaimed.
“Ab pata chala, tu chipkali nahi, dinosaur hai. Bees golgappe thoos liye!”
“Chup kar. Main at least 50 kha sakti hu but lunch thoda heavy kiya tha na isliye.”
They continued on their hike. It had only been 10 more minutes when Raavi again shouted, “Shiva!”
“Ab kya hua?”
“Ice cream!” She pointed out.
“Ae Mami ke behen ki beti, abhi golagappe thoose na, toh ice cream nahi milega. Bachho ki tarah zid kiye jaa rahi hai.”
“Shiva please Shiva. Tujhe toh pata hai mujhe golagappe khane ke baad ice cream khana pasand hai. Chal na!”
“Nahi!”
“O kanjoos Shiva! Dhara bhabhi ne kya kaha tha yaad hai? “Raavi ka khyal rakhna, pareshaan mat karna usko” Yaad hai na? Agar tune mujhe ice cream nahi khilaya toh main Dhara bhabhi ko bata dungi aur woh teri class legi.”
Shiva knew he was trapped. He had promised his bhabhi and he knew he couldn’t say no to her. So he let her drag him to the ice cream stall. She grabbed the card and started looking at the flavours.
“Itna dekhne ki kya zaroorat. Hum dono ko pata hai tu last me jaakar chocolate cornetto hi lene wali hai.” Shiva said. “Bhaiyya do chocolate cornetto.”
“Tujhe toh cornetto pasand nahi?” Raavi asked, confused.
“Dono tere liye hai.” Shiva said. “Ek khane ke baad, tujhe dusra chahiye hota hai. Tu wapas mujhe khichte hue yahi layegi isliye ek baar mein hi do le liya.”
Raavi felt like she could hug Shiva at this very moment. He not only remembered her favourite flavour, but got her two ice-creams. This was the first time in her marriage when she felt like she got an excellent husband. He handed her two ice creams and she began to lick both of them simultaneously.
“Mujhe jaahil bolti hai aur khud jangli ki tarah khaati hai.”
“Oh please! Sirf tu yaha hai isliye main jaise bhi khau. Warna tujhse better table etiquettes hai mere.”
They continued their journey. Rishita and Dev caught up to them because of Raavi’s golagappe and ice cream stop. Dev didn’t want to lose sight of Shiva-Raavi so he didn’t let Rishita distract him anymore. Their walk was slightly awkward because it seemed the four of them didn’t have much to say to each other.
When they finally reached their destination, both Rishita and Raavi gasped loudly. It gave them a view of the entire city and of the sunset in the horizon. Rishita didn’t waste any time, she took out her camera and started clicking pictures of the view.
“It’s so beautiful Dev!” Rishita exclaimed.
She pulled Dev to her side and started clicking selfies. Then she looked over Raavi who was looking at the horizon. “Raavi, mera mere Dev ke saath ek achha sa picture click kar do.”
Rishita saw Shiva glaring at her but Raavi took the camera from her hand and clicked their picture. She posed with her arms around Dev’s neck and in the next one she was kissing him on the cheek and in the next one she made Dev hug her from the back. Dev looked terribly uncomfortable in the pictures but Rishita didn’t care.
“Bas ho gaya.” Shiva said. “Hume wapas bhi jaana hai. Aur photoshoot karana ho toh next time se ek professional photographer le aana.” Saying this, he turned around to leave, when Rishita stopped him.
“Ek photo toh tumhari aur Raavi ki bhi banti hai. Come on Shiva Raavi. Ek pose. Main khud lungi picture.” Rishita said.
“Mujhe photo khichana pasand nahi.” Shiva said, but Dev started insisting and he dragged Shiva to where Raavi was standing.
They stood there awkwardly for their photo.
“Ohho, itne dur kyu khade ho. Woh tumhari behen nahi hai, biwi hai. Koi romantic pose do.” Rishita said.
Shiva simply glared at her.
Raavi knew how much Shiva hated having his picture taken so she saw it as an opportunity to annoy him. She gave a mischievous smile and held both his arms with both her hands and smiled at the camera. Shiva looked like he was ready to murder her at the spot. Rishita clicked at the exact moment showing Raavi’s mischievous smile and innocent eyes, and Shiva’s anger.
Shiva pushed her away, but a bit too hard. She lost her balance and fell backwards. Rishita clicked their picture exactly when Shiva caught her by the waist and stopped her from falling. She was clutching his shirt tightly and her eyes were closed in fear but Shiva’s eyes fixed on Raavi.
When he left her, she screamed again. “Shiva!”
“Jitni baar tu Shiva Shiva chillati hai na, utni baar Bholenaath ka jaap kar le, toh tujhe Shankar bhagwaan mil jayenge. Jab dekho Shiva Shiva Shiva!”
“Chup kar gadhere! Tere chakkar mein meri heel toot gayi. Ab mai wapas kaise jaungi?”
“Kisne kaha tha heels pehenne ke liye?”
“Meri heel tooti, main chal nahi paa rahi aur tu mujhe hi blame kar raha hai?” Raavi shouted back.
“Toh khaali pair chal.”
Raavi gave him an exasperated look.
“Guys please jhagra mat karo. Par Shiva yaha koi gadi ya auto nahi milegi, aur Raavi chal nahi paa rahi. Hum wapas kaise lotenge?” Dev asked.
Shiva let out an audible sigh. He picked up Raavi and started walking back. Raavi didn’t mind one bit. She was too tired of walking anyway. So she hung on to Shiva as he took her back.
That night, Rishita was looking at the photographs they clicked that day. She couldn’t find one good picture of herself and Dev. Dev wasn’t photogenic at all! Then she came across the two pictures she had clicked of Shiva-Raavi. Both the pictures were amazing! For a couple who were married forcefully, they seemed awfully romantic. Rishita pouted and kept her camera back. It was really unfair!
