Chapter 5: INVESTIGATION II

Recap: investigation

But they knew one thing that no matter what, they will get back as Family and Friends.

It's 6:00 am and the sun has risen.

Shree and Rathode get up to go back as they have to reach HQ on time. They see Arjun who is still sitting there, thinking something. Rathode goes and pats his shoulder in order to get him back to reality and says "Rawate mein aur Shree nikal rahe hain. HQ bhi pahunchna hai toh jaldi jaana padega. Tu bhi apne room chala ja."

Arjun shakes his head in positive "Hmmm.."

Shree stands there and sees how soft his seniors have turned. This was their new side which he had never seen. 

All the three then leave from the site and decide they will meet once Shree collects all the details i.e., tomorrow night. 

This was a short time actually but it was very long for them. 2 days felt like 2 eternity and that was crushing them from inside. They wanted to reach to their team as soon as possible and get them back safely. But that was not possible as they still had to find where have they been kept captivated.

The next day at 11:00 pm 

*At construction site*

All of them reach and sit in their respective places. Shree connects his pen drive to the projector and waits for Arjun and Rathode's permission to start. They nod

Shree starts with his report "Sir iss pendrive mein unke saare call records aur bank details hai."

"Aur unn sab se kya pata chala hai?" asks Arjun

To which Shree replies "bohot kuch sir. (Points at the screen). Yeh hai Rahul Jain ka bank account- professional one. Iss mein aisi koi badi transactions nahin dikh rahi as yeh woh sirf apne hotels ke business ke liye use karta tha. Aur yeh dusra uska personal account hai isme yeh khud har mahine ek badi rakam daalta hai. Aur phir woh ismein se kuch Abhay Nagarajan ke personal account mein daalta hai. Jo phir wahaan raid hone nahin deta. Aur ho bhi jaaye toh Rahul Jain ke bheje paison se hi baat sambhal leta hai."

"Aur yeh badi rakam Rahul Jain ke paas aata kahaan se hoga? Pata lagane ki koshish ki?" asks Rathode

"Woh pata nahin chal paaya sir." replies a dejected Shree. 

Rathode then asks is general "Bank ko kabhi shaq kaise nahin hua?"

To which Arjun replies "Shaq issliye nahin hua kyunki yeh black money jo yeh bank mein daalte hai woh aadha hi dalta hai. Baaki cash woh illegal kaamon mein daalte hain. Aur baaki business badhane mein."

Rathode's doubt gets cleared and proceeds "Hmm. Aur agar kissi ko shaq hua toh yeh minister jaise log unka muh band kar dete hai inhi paison se. Damn it!!" (Disgusted at his own department and system).

Arjun gets from where he is comming "Haan Rathode. Shree baaki teenon ka kuch pata chala??" asking Shree

Shree nods his head in positive and reples "Yes sir. (pointing towards the screen) Yeh hai Robin D'mello ke bank details sirf ek hi account hai. Woh pehle khud account mein paise daalta hai, badi rakam nahin hoti shaayad uske business ke chote-mote profits hote hai aur usmein add on karne ke liye Aashif bhi paise transfer karta hai. Usske baad inn call records (hands a file with call details) se pata chala ki woh paise dalne ke turant baad Aashif ko ek missed call deta hai. Inke baare mein bas itna hi pata chal paaya hai. Lekin haan sir Aashif ke saath saath Peter bhi uske account mein paise daalta hai. Aur Robin phir Peter ko ek missed call de deta hai."

"Aur kuch?" asks an eager Arjun.

"Haan sir yeh paise thode ticket booking ke liye hote hai. Flight booking ya Ship booking." replies Shree. 

Rathode then intervenes and asks "Thode kyu?"

To which Shree replies "Sir maine check kiya hai, booking ke paise utne nahin hote jitne Aashif aur Peter iske account mein daalte hai. Kuch zyaada hi meherbaan ho rahe hai yeh dono usspe."

Arjun who is well aware of such scandal says "Meherbaan honge hi. Drugs aur gold ke smuggling karane mein madad jo karta hai. Shayad Robin human traffickers ke visa aur passport bhi banata hoga."

"Ho sakta hai sir. Lekin humein kaise pata chalega ki kaise bheja hai. Shaayad naam bhi badalvaaya hoga." Shree asks Arjun. 

"Robin ke company ne kitne logon ko baahar bheja hai woh record humein chahiye.Khaaskar uss time ka record dekhna hai jab Aashif Robin ke account mein paise daalta hai. Kyunki ho sakta hai ki paise milne ke baad woh kaam shuru karta hai. Phir hum Aashif ke under kaam karne wale logon ke details ke saath match kar sakte hai jinke parivaar ko woh har mahine paise deta ho." Rathode replies.

Arjun nods in a positive and says "Ho sakta hai Rathode. Aur uske saath saath by water jaane wale consignments bhi dekhne padenge. Shaayad parcels ke through gold ki smuggling hoti hogi. Lekin parcel mein Gold kaise chupaate honge." 

Rathode also has the same question in his mind "Haan checking toh bohot strict hoti hai wahhan. Toh ab humein Robin ke saare by water consignments dekhne padhenge. Unhi kuch parcels mein shayad woh gold chupakar smuggling karta ho. Aur jo inhe yeh consignment dete hai unhe kuch pata hi naa ho.?"

Arjun then states "Nahin Rathode shaayad unhe pata ho aur Peter unke account mein bhi paise daalta ho."

"Ho sakta hai sir. Peter aur Aashif ke account mein paise waise hi jaate hain jaise Rahul ke account mein jaata tha. Woh khud yeh paise jama karte hai. Phir wahan se Aashif Robin ke account mein daalta hai aur baaki sab kuch parivaar ki madad karne ke liye deta hai, charity jaise. Lekin Peter sirf Robin ke account mein hi nahi Riva naam ke fabric industry ke account mein bhi daalta hai. Shaayad inhi kapdon ke andar gold chupaake smuggle karte hai. Aur yeh material by water hi baahar jaate hai. Aur bhejne ki zimmedari bhi Robin ki hoti hai. According to both call and bank details." says Shree who is also trying to draw a conclusion.

Arjun then asks"Aur kuch?"

To which Shree replies "Nahi sir. Sirf itna hi pata chal paaya hai."

Arjun smiles and says "Good job Shree!!"

Shree feels very proud and happy after receiving a compliment from Arjun and thanks him.

Rathode again intervenes "Ab humein Rahul, Aashif aur Peter pe kadi nazar rakhni hogi. Yeh paise jo woh jamaa karte hai yeh aate kahaan se hai? yeh pataa lagana zaroori hai. Arjun tum inn donon pe nazar rakho."

"Sir yeh teenon har mahine ke 15 taarik ko paise jama karte hai. Toh paise shaayad unhe kuch din pehle milte honge." says Shree thinking that it can help in the investigation. 

Rathode also agrees with Shree and says "Ho sakta hai kyunki pehle woh inn paison se chote mote illegal kaam dekhte honge. Aur baaki aise smuggling ke liye use karte honge." 

"Haan." replies nodding his head in positive.

"Toh aaj 2 November hai. Kal se unpe nazar rakhna shuru karte hain. Shree tumhare paas yeh sab aasan karne ke liye koyi gadget hai." states Rathode and asks Shree.

Shree gets excited and says "Hai na sir. aapne hi toh dilwaya hai." with a big grin on his face.

"Toh ab baahar bhi nikaalo." says Rathode sarcastically to control Shree' s excitement.

Arjun has a small smile on his face seeing shree behave like a kid and Rathode controlling him from getting too excited like a big brother. 

Shree gets the gadgets out and tells the duo about them. 

"Sir yeh micro bug hai isse agar hum unn chaaron sivaay uss MLA ke ghar aur office mein lagaate hai toh humein unki saari baatein sunn ne ko milegi. Bohot strong device hai. Aur bohot useful. Phir baahar toh Arjun sir sambhal lenge na?" looks at arjun for assurance

Arjun also replies with confidence "Haan sambhal lunga."

But this confidence is short-lived as Rathode asks both seriously and sarcastically "Kya sambhaal loge Rawate? Teenon pe nazar rakhni hai. Tum apne aap ko teen hisson mein baantoge?"

Arjun glares at him but he even knows that Rathode is speaking the truth. How will he do it?

Arjun then replies "Thik hai toh mein Simran aur Karan se baat kar lunga. woh unn pe nazar rakh paayenge."

Rathode raises his eyebrows and asks Arjun about the new additions "Kon Simran aur Karan?"

Arjun then tells them about how Simran and Karan helped him after his teams death in finding the true culprit. 

Rathode gets convinced and permits him to take their help "Thik hai unhe batado." and adds after a pause "Lekin sab kuch mat bata dena." he says in a serious tone.

To which Arjun also replies glaring at Rathode "Jaanta hoon mein."

Shree thinks "Aree baaba mujhe laga ki inn donon ke beech sab theek ho gaya. Lekin yeh donon toh theek hone ke baad bhi attitude dikha rahe hain."

and prays to God for his well being. 

They all look at their watch. Its 2:30 in the morning. They just want to stay there and no one feels like going to their respective places.

"Coffee ya chai?" Shree asks knowing that today also no one is feeling like going. 

"cutting chai." both reply in union. They then look at each other and smile

"Yes sir" Shree replies with a broad smile and leves towards the pantry.

Rathode then looks at Arjun and says sarcastically "Ek baar yeh mission complete ho jaaye uske baad jo tune mujhe ETF mein itna pareshaan kiya tha un sab ka gin gin ke badla loonga." He smirks.

Arjun also smirks and replies "Haan pareshaan toh sirf maine kiya tha na tune toh bada saath diya." He abruptly stops realising what he just said.

If Roshni was Arjun's wife she was even Sameer's best friend and like a sister. Roshni's death had even shattered him completely. The only difference was Sameer believed the department, though half-heartedly as they said there was no man named Sikandar and Roshni died because of Arjun's way of working and impulse decision. This is the reason he didnt believe Arjun and held him responsible for her death. But he realised that something was off and brought details of sikandar and gave it to Arjun. Arjun knew that none of them were at fault, the situation and sikandar were the culprits but..

Arjun comes and sits next to him. He says "Mera matlab woh nahin tha. Main jaanta hun jitna pyaar mein Roshni se karta tha utna hi pyaar tu bhi uss se karta tha. Teri dost thi woh aur tu bhi uske liye uske bade bhai se kam nahin tha."

A guilty Rathode then replies "Lekin galti toh huvi hai.." He gets interrupted by arjun who says,

"Haan aur woh galti humari department aur Sikandar se hui hai. Tujhse nahin. Tumne toh bas apni duty ki. Jaane dete hai inn sab baaton ko aur mission pe focus karte hain. Aur tu bhi apne aap par aur mujh par taras khaana band kar."

"Haan. Lekin badla toh mein lunga sab kuch thik ho jaane ke baad." says Rathode as he winks at Arjun.

Both have a hearty laugh. From a distance Shree just notices them and smiles. He is happy that his seniors have resolved their issues and have come back together. But a tear drops from his eyes when he misses his team who could also be there to notices this Ram-Bharat milan. Sameer sees him standing there and calls him "Shree!!?"

Shree comes out from his thoughts "Haan sir." places the chai on the table and adds "Cutting chai taiyaar hai." 

Both of them take a sip

"Chai bohot achi bani hai." says Rathode who is relishing the chai.

To which Shree replies "Haan sir Sakshi ki recipe hai."

Rathode smirks and to irritate Arjun he adds "Issliye toh itni achi hai. Saakshi jo bhi karti hai ache se karti hai."

Rathode knows that Sakshi troubles Arjun a lot which annoys him and sometimes she does mistakes which furiates him. 

Arjun then in a strong voice says "Haan sirf baatein karna aata hai usse aur kuch nahin." and smiles.

He remembers how she used to irritate him everytime by talking or giggling during case investigation. He always used to scold her for not being serious enough and she used to say "Arjun jo kaam karne mein mazaa nahin aata ho woh kaam ache se kaise kar paayenge". They all finish the chai and start with the planning to execute their mission. 

Shree asks Rathode for further plan "Sir toh aage kya karna hai??"

"Haan Shree. Humein vesh badalke aur identity chupaake inn sabke ghar aur offices jaana padega bug install karne ke liye. Aur phir records bhi toh laane hai inke office se. " says Rathode who is sure that it will be a success.

Arjun adds "Rathode main simran aur karan Aashif, Peter aur Rahul ka peecha karenge."

"Haan thik hai. Toh mein chaaron ke office jaaunga worker boy bankar aur jo bhi information mile leke aajaunga." Rathode says assigning himself one work.

"Lekin sir aap HQ mein kya bolenge?" Shree questions Rathode as his disappearance can cause a lot of problem.

"Main yeh bol dunga ki security ke liye mujhe thoda information collect karna padega. Aur akele jaane mein hi bhalaayi hai. Waise bhi minister ka mamla hai toh zyaada puch taach bhi nahin hogi." Rathode assures Shree. 

"Theek hai sir. toh mein bhi aaj unke ghar chala jaunga." says Shree who is desperate to reach his friends.

Rathode firmly replies "Nahin Shree aaj nahin."

Arjun also agrees with Sameer and says "Haan shree tumhe HQ mein rehkar Rathode ko saari information deni hai aur upar se wahan pe kisi ko shaq bhi ho sakta hai Samjhe Ya Samjhaun." 

Shree nods positively implying that he understood.

Rathode also adds giving Shree a work "Haan Shree tum kal chale jaana cable ya electricity meter ka bahana karke. Fake Id's bana loge na?"

Shree assures him and says "No problem sir. Ho jaayega."

"Thik hai jab tak humein pata nahin chalta ki yeh paise unnhe de kon raha hai aur kahaan se aa rahe hai hum nahin milenge. Jo bhi baat hogi emergency phone mein hogi." Rathode orders them. 

"Ho sakta hai humaari team bhi wahin ho?" adds Arjun.

Hope glitters in everyone' s eyes.

It's 4:30 now and they decide to leave. Now since they have realized they are close to finding their team. They are a bit relaxed. All leave and go to their respective places to take rest.

Morning at 7:00 Rathode talks to I.G about a day off to find extra information regarding the threat. I.G grants the permission. He later messages Shree and Arjun that step 1 has been cleared. Both look at the message and smile heartily!!
