This video has pointed out certain things which I always felt about Bollywood.

Even after acting for years and having such a strong fan base why is it that tv actors are looked down upon by Bollywood? Only recently some TV actors started to make it big in Bollywood but still they are being looked down upon. The hina khan incident was downright disgusting.

Why is there such a big gap between TV and films whereas in the west both the groups are equally respected and even the transition is much easier.

There are many TV actors who are much better than current lot of actors but still they are not getting a chance or even if they do they end up doing bgrade movies

Thoughts?

Bollywood always respected good actors. But they will not accept any snobbish tv actor unless they have a very good talent or powerful talent.

Hina Khan became popular doing a homely girl role. Most of her fans still call her Akshra. She needs to shed that character image.

Yes they disrespect them

But funny thing movie stars will go to dramas promoting to masses. People can tell u names of top actors of tv more than new stars of bollywood

They look down upon on them. I used to do same

But now i respect them as most of them have earned the roles with struggles. Hardwork  dedication

Didn't get them on platter

I don’t think BW respects anyone for that matter. No business body goes around respecting people for the heck of it. Ones value is equivalent to the success one is able to achieve and be useful to the Industry. All this respect vespect kya hota hai? Even Amitabh Bachchan was kicked to the curb when he went bankrupt. Rajesh Khanna the first Super Star of the Industry was discarded overnight when his movies started flopping. Dharmendra, the macho superstar, koi poochta bhi bahi unko. Dilip Kumar, Dev Aanand, be it anybody- no one has time to go around singing praises or paying attention to the has beens or the people who are not deemed resourceful/useful. That’s how the businesses work!

Yes , they will always have that Bollywood actors are better than telly actors where as the fact is there are some telly actors who are so much better than these so called bolly superstars !! I mean Bollywood’s most popular are Salman Khan , Katrina Kaif , Deepika Padukone 😆 that should say a lot about Bollywood

SRK & Vidya Balan were accepted.

Prachi Desai got good work in the beginning, but she was royally sidelined later on.

SSR had a good run, though he was sidelined too.

Ayushmaan can also be called a TV artist coz he started from Television only & did reality shows. But it took him years of struggle to find success. Same for Yami Gautam.

Btw working in those Bhatt camp movies like Hate Story franchise as leads do not count.😆
Neither does working in supporting roles in big films makes a difference.
Better stay on TV & work in decent roles.

Let's see how Radhika Madan's career goes. She has some potential.

Initially television stars or theatre artists like Om Puri or NSD grads successfully transitioned from their respective platforms to BW.

Most of them were and are hugely popular character artists.

Amongst the lot, Irfan Khan was one success story besides SRK.  Amongst the female artist, Vidya Balan had only Hum Panch to her credit but it was more than enough I guess.  Yami is also successful.

Later on Ekta Kapoor started her soap factory and produced too many actors.  She took interest in over all personality also.

Many of them achieved super stardom because of SM and internet. For eg Hina Khan

Post 2010 actors Shaheer went into a complete transformation for Mahabharat and became a complete package. KSG had his own share of fan girls. Barun Sobti, Aamir Ali, Arjun Bijlani, Sharad Malhotra, Ashish Sharma, Gautam Rode, Shakti Arora   and actresses like Jennifer Winget, Hina, Drashti Dhami, Sanaya Irani, Surbhi Jyoti, Surbhi Chandana, Krystle etc.

All of them could have successfully made good debuts if they werent prevented by BW cartels be it Phs or actors who came for their own benefits.  I feel they were highly insecure by the new crop of TV actors and did everything to prevent them from coming.

SSR did get into the inner circle but he had to pay for his stardom..

Its the insecurity which turns into disrespect.

Since the reality show boom? Yeah. Movie celebs started judging and hosting reality shows participated by TV actors. TV actors licking foot of those judges and hosts, movie celebs getting paid 100X more than the TV celens for the same show... that's how TV celebs degraded themselves.

Agree. I understand when movie stars pay channel to come in fiction show. Where actors has to do job as leads and can't go against channrl

But in reality  shows they act small themselves

It’s almost like a step up considering the stage gets bigger and the stakes are higher. Bollywood has a perception of arrived in life when stars make it to the platform. But once again, folks in Bollywood aspire for Hollywood. So there’s a never ending cycle of aspiration
