Why is it?

I am.not sure I should post this here but here goes..

Lately there has been a spate of shows on tv..showing or implying that boys generally do not have attachment to their parents or are not responsible towards them or don't treat them well...is it because Supreme court has said it that "a daughter will be a daughter all her life while a son is son till he is married " or something in that way... I think two or three shows in Starplus ( I am talking about Anupama and Shaadi mubarak...don't follow these shows but saw some promos and maybe I am wrong, kindly correct me ) and now India waali ma on Sony are based on the same concept...

Why is a boy only responsible for his parents ..? Isn't it also a daughter's duty for her parents and aren't girls also sometimes mistreating parents ? A girl in this show chennamma cannot live with her in laws so she was also a daughter right once ...?

And I can't seem to digest this ...boys also do care ..there are far more scenarios atleast in India that a child whether he or she is taking care and responsibility of the parents and consider it an honour to do so ..

Anyways I don't get this ...I am seeing this whole lot of shows where in the son is I'll treating the parents and that is not sitting well with me...even in this show Rohan is not talking with his dad why ? He got married to a girl without telling his parents ...how ..and what and how ??
