I Have This Question For A Long Time.

Hopefully Someone Can Answer My Question.

Why Didn't Maa Saraswati Fight To Protect Herself From Demons?

It Is Because She's A Peaceful Goddess?

She doesn't need to fight because she can mess with the minds of the demons and stop them from attacking her.

In Southern Mythology, when demons attack Sricakrapuram, the abode of Lalita Tripura-Sundari (the utmost warrior form of Parvati; here, her consort if Lord Kameswara) she and Lakshmi take on warrior forms.

Lakshmi becomes Varaahi, Lalita devi's Commander-in-chief. (She wields a sword I think)

Saraswati becomes Mantrini/Dandanaatha, Lalita devi's Prime Minister. (I think she holds an Axe)

Someone more versed in Tripura-sundari devi's legend might be able to elaborate further. :)

Mantrini or Devi Matangi is also known as Laghu Shyama. Devi Saraswati is fair, but Devi Matangi has Green complexion. She is one of the 10 Mahvidyas. She grants knowledge, art, fulfills wishes. She helps in getting Liberation too.

Maha or Magha Navarati is good for her worship.

Nishita, here is a very interesting story for you--

After the creation of the cosmic universe by Brahma, a great pandemonium reigned supreme in the cosmos. But Brahma felt bewildered for he realised that His cosmic universe was bereft of order, conception and configuration. He created the embodiment of wisdom and art. Goddess Saraswati emerged out His mouth.

Then all the celestial bodies including the sun, the moon and the stars were created and organized under strict orders. The oceans sprang up and the seasons started changing periodically. Ecstatic Brahma named the Goddess Vagdevi, the goddess of speech and sound. In this way, Brahma created the Universe equipped with the eternal source of wisdom provided by  Saraswati.

In the Devi Mahatmya, Goddess Saraswati is one of female trinity i.e. Tridevis comprising Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati. In the process of creation, maintenance and destruction of the Universe, all the three goddesses also played pivotal roles. Maha Saraswati is depicted as eight-armed sitting on a white lotus flower. There She is wielding in Her hands the bell, trident, plowshare, conch, pestle, discus, bow and arrow. All these suggest that Maha Saraswati was not merely the goddess of knowledge and arts, she is a warrior too.

Saraswati married Brahma after she helped him form the universe. After getting married, however, life was not perfect for the couple. Saraswati was late for a ritual, so Brahma created another wife, Gayatri, so he could perform the ritual on time. When Saraswati found out, she was devastated and angry. She cursed Brahma so humans would never worship him again, even though he is the creator of the universe.

As the embodiment of knowledge and wisdom, Saraswati is fittingly associated with education, writing, speech, and other related disciplines. She is also esteemed for bringing music to mankind. According to tradition, she created the Sanskrit language  and even taught Ganesh to use a pen and write. Because Saraswati is knowledge, which in itself is pure, she is usually depicted as a young girl in white clothing. She's often depicted riding on a swan; sometimes she's accompanied by a peacock. She may even have a crescent on her forehead, a representation of the moon she helped form.Saraswati is called the mother of the Vedas and the keeper of Brahma’s creative intelligence.

3rd part of Durga Saptashati ie, Uttam charaitra, is dedicated to Goddess Maha Saraswati, with 8 hands.

Here Maa Durga kills Shumbh, Nishumbh. Goddess Kali kills Raktabeeja. Chamunda kills Chanda & Munda.

Other Deva's Shakti too helps in killing Asuras.

Devi Brhmani, Brhma's shakti arrives sitting on swan. She kills Asuras by sprinkling water from a Kamandal in her hand.

Devi Aindri- Indra's Shakti, Varahi, Narsimhi, Vaishnavi etc are part of Maa Durga's Army.

Devi Brhmani is one of the Ashta Matrikas.
