Sometimes my mind doesn’t work after watching a film n I don’t able to understand that how did so many ppl agree to make a film on that particular story. Means they were all lying to each other without thinking that finally Public will watch the film. Yes M talking about #Baaghi3

Baaghi 3 has a decent advance and it is pretty much on the lines as the last Baaghi franchise film Baaghi 2. Not only are the collections on a similar line but where they are coming from are pretty similar as well. Baaghi 2 had an advance in the 7 crore nett range and it remains to be seen where Baaghi 3 finishes with the most important final day left.

The advance collections of Baaghi 3 and Baaghi 2 will be the same but there will be a difference in tickets sold as Baaghi 3 is likely to sell 25% less tickets than Baaghi 2 but as ticket rates are higher the collections will go a similar level.

A good result would have been if the film could have reached the tickets sold of the last film but the difference is coming on the Friday as Baaghi 2 was Good Friday and for Baaghi 3 it is a normal Saturday. The results for Saturday and Sunday are very similar in terms of tickets sold. 

The franchise is one of those on the day ones as it is mass audiences that come for the film. Baaghi 1 had no advance but did a near 12 crore nett day while Baaghi 2 had a good advance but no way did that advance suggest a 25 crore nett first day collection. It will be the same story here as current rather than advance will determine where the first day will go. It is the best advance of the year but that is not much of a target as no film has had an even decent advance.

Story: Fiercely protective of his elder brother Vikram (Riteish Deshmukh), Ronnie (Tiger Shroff) goes after a dreaded terrorist group in Syria to save him. Can he bring back his brother alive?

Review: Rippling muscles, six-pack abs and a chiseled face. Meet Ronnie - the handsome hunk whose only job is to magically appear from thin air whenever his elder brother Vikram is in trouble. He will bash up the bad guys to a pulp and go back to minding his own business. But in a sudden twist, Vikram is kidnapped by a terrorist group called Jaish-e-Lashkar in Syria and Ronnie sets off on a rescue mission.

Director Ahmed Khan throws in every trick in the book to make ‘Baaghi 3’ an action entertainer with elements that highlight his leading man’s brute force and deadly machismo. Tiger Shroff, who is clearly one of Bollywood’s most bankable action stars, delivers a knockout blow in the high-octane action scenes. His perfect body and attitude make all the stylized action look real. However, he falls short in emotional scenes and comedy. Shraddha Kapoor looks glam and brings in some good comic relief in the first half. But her character isn’t very crucial to the story and hence she doesn’t have much scope to perform. Riteish Deshmukh, on the other hand, has an important role, but there is no explanation about why he acts like a slow man-child and why he needs to be constantly protected. It is baffling to see him recruited as a police officer despite being so vulnerable and his performance is inconsistent too. In fact, there are quite a few such loose ends in the story that make it far less convincing.

While the Syrian setting brings in a terrifying feel, most villains are far too caricaturish to be taken seriously, barring the main villain Abu Jalal (Jameel Khoury). He looks the part and his performance is chilling. The dialogues by Farhad Samji are laced with low-brow humour, especially in the first half and adequately filmy in the second half. The film’s music is quite average but thankfully, there aren’t too many songs. While the action design (Ahmed Khan) is impressive, the same cannot be said for the shaky camerawork and weak CGI.

There are ample of slo-mo shots, deafening explosions and lethal punches in ‘Baaghi 3’. But none of it can rise beyond a weak script that doesn’t go for the kill. Knock yourself out only if you’re a diehard Tiger Shroff fan.

Massy action movies are always critic-proof and will depend on their target demographic's WOM. Let' see how this one plays out. Hoping it kicks serious ass!

Baaghi 3 opened pretty well with occupancy of around 30-35% but this is well short of the last film in the franchise which opened at 55% apprx. It is the best opening of the year but the expectations were of a better opening. The expectations were always going to be tough to hit as advance sales slowed down considerably yesterday at multiplexes. 

The occupancy is better at mass centres like Agra and Ajmer but the collections should have been stronger in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Even cities in East Punjab could have been better. Baaghi 2 did not have a huge start in Mumbai city or Delhi city but still the collections were still good or very good. Here they can be called average only in the metros.

The film has been affected by this corona virus news but it cant be said by how much. That will only be known when the final collections come out as the ratios of circuits should be pretty much similar to Baaghi 2 but there are margins then it will probably be because of this virus threat.

Despite these external factors it will be still probably come out with a good first day number but when these things happen a lot depends on the news breaks which can easily slow collections like it happened with the advance on Thursday. The industry has not seen a good Friday for a long time and this film should have been that 20 crore nett plus opener though now the film will probably have to settle for a less.
