Dear friends

My New Arshi SS THE CRASHING WAVES is a revival of my unfinished FF "The Unexpected Kiss".

It is the story ofArnav Singh Raizada who is supposed to get married to his childhood friend unexpectedly falls in love with a simple chirpy girl.

He falls madly in love with her.His love becomes fatal to her.How?

Chapter 1

Arnav Singh Raizada,the eldest son of Thakur Prathap Singh Raizada and Neelam Singh Raizada,was walking restlessly in his office expecting the call of his dear friend Aman. Arnav whowas called ASR was the ultimate boss of  AR fashions which wasone of the leading business firms in India which had its branches abroad.He hadthree siblings.Anjaly,his eldest sister,Aakash and Akshay, his youngerbrothers.Anjaly was married to Rakesh.Aakash was helping Arnav in his businessand Akshay was doing his MBA in England.

Every employee in AR wasafraid of Arnav.His anger had no boundaries.It was only his sister who couldunderstand him well.

Arnav's mobile rang. Hetook it and answered quickly:Aman is everything ok?

Aman:not ok

Arnav:What?

Aman:They are not readyto sell it off.

Arnav:You told that theyare in need of money.

Aman:But his daughter isnot willing to sign in the document?

Arnav:Daughter?Hepromised us that he would hand over the papers to us today.

Aman:But Arnav,this girlis very adamant.

Arnav:Who is that idiot?

Aman:She is not an idiotArnav.She would kill me if I go there  again.

Arnav:You fool...Don'tyou have shame to be afraid of a girl?Anyway let me come there.I'm startingwithin a few minutes and would reach there by evening.

Aman:It's going to be arainy day Arnav.It'll be difficult to drive in the village once it rains.Roadswould be muddy.

Arnav:I'll manage.

As Arnav was coming downthe stairs of his mansion he saw Lavanya coming his way.Lavanya was his childhood friend.Every one hoped that they would get married in future.Arnav's eyes softened when he saw her.He said:Lavanya,When did you come?I'm going to the village,you know,where I'm interested to buy some property adjoining my ancestral home.

Lavanya:I do..shall I accompany you?

Arnav:No,the climate isnot good..next time..ok?He touched her cheeks lightly and left.

Anjaly came there andsaid:Arnav,when will you be back?

Arnav:Don't know di..itdepends.

Lavanya,a softspoken,matured girl,was his childhood friend.Arnav was never angry with her,healways respected her but Lavanya always had a feeling that he never loved her because he never showed such an interest in her.She was waiting for him to propose to her.Both their families were  in close bond with each other.

Arnav, found Lavanya very understanding,matured andrespectful.

Once Aman askedArnav:Yaar,I hope that Lavanya is not the right match for you.You need a more vibrant,smart girl whom I would like to see having a tit for tat withyou..I mean with whom you fall in love unconditionally.

Arnav:Your filmy dialogues suit you well,not me.Your emotional dramas with your girlfriend are giving me indigestion.

Aman:Myself and Poojaare not formal like you and your friend.

Arnav drove from Lucknowto his ancestral home in Gorakhpur.It required minimum 4 and half hrs to reachthe place roadways.He was furious as the deal was a failure.He very much wishedto buy the land adjoining his ancestral property to make it a family resort.Hisancestral home land comprised of a vast area of land with a huge mansion builtin ancient style in the centre,It was a typical feudal style building,It waswell maintained by him. Arnav's parents and paternal grand parents breathedtheir last in that building.There were care takers and Arnav visited it once ina month.

Adoining it was a vastarea of land owned by Arnav's father's friend,Ramchand.There was a small housein that compound and it was given for rent. Ramchand promised that the landwould be sold to Arnav at the earliest possible.Ramchand lived in Delhi withhis family.He was in need of money to invest in his new business.

Arnav was thinking:Whois that foolish girl to take chances with me?

He reached there in theevening.It started to rain heavily and Arnav found it difficult to drive.Amanwas waiting for him in his family home with two other staff members ofArnav.Arnav was driving very slowly.He reached the area full of trees.He parkedhis car a little away and ran to the trees.He stood there waiting for the rainto subside.He was talking to Aman,at that timehe saw  a girl,fully wet,running to the trees nearby.He hid behind the big tree and watched.She stoodunder the trees looked around and made sure that there was no one near by .Shedidn't look at the car parked a little away.She took out the half saree andsqueezed the water from it.He could see a small blouse revealing herbeautifully shaped breasts and the thin skirt revealing her beautifulfigure.Her long hair was wet and when she tried to wipe away water from herface he saw her hands full of bangles.The bangles were making a clinking sound.Then she raised her skirt a little and squeezed the water out of it.He saw avery beautiful Payal .His eyes were moving from her top to bottom.He couldn'thelp staring at her.Suddenly she felt someone looking at her.She turned andshockingly saw him staring at her.Arnav saw the most beautiful face with themost beautiful eyes he has ever seen in his life and she saw the most handsomeman with a mesmerizing eyes staring at her.They stood still for some momentsand when his eyes moved over her body  she realized that she was standingin front of him without the dupatta.With a little cry she draped her half sareeover her and ran away from there.

He closed his eyes andtried to forget what happened but a pair of beautiful eyes,lips and a beautifulfigure snatched his sleep,his peace of mind away from him that moment onwards.

She was dancing in therain with many other girls and children and one of the children took mud in hishands and threw it at her.She became angry and took the mud in her hands andthrew it at that child.But instead it fell on some one else.

CHAPTER2

Arnavstood there looking at the figure running away.He stood there for a few moreminutes and then walked to the car.He got inside,took his phone and calledAman.

Aman:Whatyaar,why did you cut the phone  when I called you a few minutes back?

Arnav:Nothing...Iwas ...held up in rain..suddenly her face came to his mind...

Aman:Youspeak as though you got a  hit on the head.

Arnav:I'llbe there within a few minutes.

Arnavdrove slowly to the Raizada mansion which was named Yamuna',her grandmother'sname.The rain was somehow subsided but it was getting dark and still there waslight showers.When he neared the turning to his home,he saw a group of childrenplaying in the mud,a group of girls standing together and some ladiescollecting water in huge vessels.A girl came running into that group and to hissurprise he realized that it was the same girl.She came with a pot and began todance in the rain.Other girls also joined along with the children.Suddenly theysaw Arnav's car.The children  ran towards it.They were throwing mud ateach other.Arnav sat inside the car.He was too furious to see that the road tohis mansion was made too muddy and the tyres of the car got stuck in the mud.Hegot out and at that moment one child threw mud at the girl and she took ahandful of mud and threw back at the boy.The boy escaped its way and itstraight went to Arnav.He was  shocked to see his dress totally spoiledand he couldn't control his anger .The girl also shocked to see who it was.Theystood staring at each other.Before he opened his mouth to shout at her,she fledfrom there.The children and the other girls were afraid to see a furious Arnavand they also fled from there.One of the women came forward and said:This isRaizada babu,Sorry beta,they didn't know who you are.He didn't reply.

Arnavwalked towards his mansion .Aman couldn't control his laughter when he saw himand heard what happened.He laughed till his stomach ached.After changing,Arnavcame to the huge living room  and he was served with hot tea by hisservant.

Arnav:Now,tellme about this idiot girl.

Aman:Sheis very beautiful,very lovely with a musical voice ...

Arnavshouted:Aman,it's not joke...

Aman:Youare the only young man who doesn't want to talk about girls and the girls areready to die for you.

Arnav:Talkbusiness you fool...What is her problem?

Aman:I'llshow you her house,you go there and find yourself.

Arnav:Youare not ready to tell?

Aman:No...

Arnav:Ithink you are infatuated by her

Amansaid under his breath:We'll see who will be infatuated?

Arnav:Whatare you murmuring?

Aman:Nothing..

Arnav:Youare a gone case..Now tell me..we're going now..

Aman:Now..inthis weather and at night?

Arnav:Therain has stopped.Come ..

ThusAman was forced to go with Arnav to the girl's house.

Teaser to part 3

Arnavstood there forgetting the surroundings.The house was fully lighted withsmall diyas and he saw her smiling happy face,verybeautiful,singing a bhajan in a  magical voice.The smell of agarbathis,jasmine flowers and her presence evoked a feeling in him which he neverexperienced before.Aman keenly observed him and was very happy to see hisfriend staring at the girl.

PART 3

On the way Amansaid:Ramchand uncle has given the task to his best friend Shashi Gupta whom youknow.This girl is his daughter.As you know Ramchand uncle has four sons.He verymuch loved this girl as his own daughter and he gave the small house in thehuge compound in her name.An elderly couple is residing in the house now wholooked after Shashi's children and worked in the estates.They have no otherhome".

By this time theyreached Shashi's house.Eventhough Arnav was familiar with the area he neverwent to any of the houses nearby.So he was not that familiar with all thepeople eventhough they knew that he was the grandson of the feudal lord.

Arnav:Is this girlyoung,married?

Aman:As I told you sheis young but married..I don't know..she is uneducated I think so..anyway shelooks horrible.

Arnav:You told meearlier that she is beautiful

Aman:That was a joke

Arnav:Is there anythingwrong with you?

He saw the housedecorated with Diyas.The smell of agarbathis and jasmine flowers had created atotally spiritual as well as romantic atmosphere.Then to his surprise he sawthe girl he met on his way lighting the diyas,singing a bhajan in a magicalvoice.He stared at her.He could hear the clinking sound of bangles.She cameoutside with diyas and saw him.They stood staring at each other.

Arnav couldn'ttake his eyes away.Aman looked at them and realized that they are attracted toeach other.He smiled and cleared his throat.Arnav suddenly realized where hewas .Then he saw Shashi Gupta coming from outside.He came forward and greetedthem.

Gupta:Please comeinside.

Arnav:No,I just came toremind you that I want the deal to happen tomorrow itself.

Shashi:But I don't thinkthat is possible Mr.Raizada.My daughter is not ready to sign.You know the housegiven to her is in the centre of the compound.

Arnav:Please call yourdaughter.I'll talk.

Shashi called:Khushibeti,come here.And to Arnav's shock he saw the same girl coming towards them.

Arnav gave a killer lookto Aman but Aman showed an innocent face.

Khushi:Yes papa..

Shashi:Beti,this isMr.Raizada,he wants to talk to you about the property.

Khushi rolled her eyesand looked at him.

Khushi:Mr.Raizada?

Arnav:Yes I'm.

Khushi:I'll never signin the document,my baba has no other home.They will be homeless.

Arnav:See MissGupta,don't be childish

Khushi:I'm not a child.

Arnav gave her a lookwhich made her wish to be invisible.

Khushi:Bye,Mr,Raizada,Idon't want to talk about it.Pappa I'm sorry.She went from there,her Payalmaking a tinkling sound.

Aman gave Arnav achallenging look.

Arnav:Ok,bye Mr.Guptaand went abruptly from there.

Arnav:Aman,you have toconsult a psychiatrist and an eye specialist.You told that the girl is horribleto look at and she is married.

Aman:You don't think so?

Arnav:Don't actinnocent.

Aman:What are you goingto do?

Arnav looked at Aman andafter a few seconds he said:The deal can wait.

Aman:What?

Arnav:I mean..let metalk to her tomorrow..I'll return to Lucknow only after making sure of thedeal..

Aman:Till then..?

Arnav:I'll stayhere.Aman saw a glow in Arnav's eyes which was ,he knew,dangerous.

Aman:Don't do any harmto the girl

Arnav:Why did you thinkso?

Aman:I know you betterthan anyone else.

Arnav stood for a secondand said:I want to see her again.

Aman:Arnav...?

Arnav:I'll make her sayyes.And Aman..don't say anything about the girl to Di.

They looked at eachother.Aman smiled and left.

It was half past eightat night,Aman had already left with the other staff because he had to reach theoffice the next day.Arnav,four care takers and the housekeeper were there.Arnavdecided to  walk in the pleasant night.The villagers were sitting ingroups here and there.He reached Ramchand's compound and stood outside .The door of the house opened and he saw Khushi coming out with two tiffin carriers.she washed it in the pipe outsideand gave it to the old lady standing at the door.She came outside the compoundand when she was going to turn to her house,she saw him.The night was beautiful,shewas beautiful...he looked at her with an expression which made her standstill.He came near her ,bent his head a little,looked into her eyes andsaid:You are beautiful

They stood still lookingat each other.His eyes moved to her parted lips.Something urged her to turn andrun.She stepped backwards and fled from there.

By the time she reachedher room she was panting.Her hands went to her cheeks.She was thinking:Mygod...What did he say?Her cheeks were red..she was blushing...at the same timeshe felt angry..How dare he?He smelt very good.The perfume was haunting her.

Shewas intelligent;She continued thinking:He is playing with me..he wants theland,so he is trying to be soft with me..I won't give up..

Arnavstood in the large open verandah of his mansion enjoying the cool breeze,thefragrance of jasmine and other flowers in the surroundings..He ran his handsthrough his hair and then his chest..He was disturbed,very disturbed.It wasvery unlikely of him.And he realized shockingly that the face that disturbed his sleep was not that of Lavanya.In fact she never evoked such a feeling in him ever.He stared at the darkness outside thinking of Khushi

Arnav woke up in the morning hearing the mobile ring.It was Lavanya's call.Sheenquired if everything was fine and when would he be coming back?Arnav told herthat it would take a couple of days to settle everything. Arnav felt bad to lieto her.But for some reason unknown to him,he didn't want to tell her aboutKhushi.

Lavanyaalways felt that she didn't understand him well even though she knew him fromchildhood..He never kissed her,except a few smacks on her cheeks.He was neverpassionate like the characters she read in books or watched in movies but theywere comfortable with each other.He was always very gentle with her.He neverpraised her looks or attire.

...

Arnavdecided to go for a morning walk.He started after freshening and having a cupof coffee.He could see fog filled atmosphere.He walked in the direction ofhills .There was a temple near the hills.Many women and children were comingfrom there.He searched for someone and was disappointed to find that she wasnot among the group.As he walked further he heard the sound of bangles andanklets from behind.He turned and saw her coming,looking his way.She suddenlylooked away and walked past him.He called her but she didn't stop.He was tooangry.He waited near the hills from where he could see the exit of thetemple.He saw her coming out after some time.He hurried to her side andsaid:Why didn't you stop when I called?

Khushi:Whyshould I?

Arnav:MissGupta I want to talk to you.She looked at him and said:If it is aboutproperty,I've nothing more to say.

Hesaid:It's not about property.

Khushi:Then..?

Arnavlooked deep into her eyes,then to her lips. He thought:She was pretty,extremelypretty.She was totally embarrassed and found his approach questionable.

Khushigathered courage and asked:Why are you looking at me like that?

Arnavwhispered which embarrassed her further:Like what?

Shefled from there.Arnav smiled and told himself.If I'm Arnav you'll sign thedocument.But for some reason ,unknown, he didn't want the deal to happenfast.He decided to see her again.

Whenhe entered the gates of his villa he saw the cars of Anjaly and Aakash parkedoutside.And surprising him someone came rushing towards him.It was his youngerbrother Akshay from London.

Arnav:What..?Howare you here?Who arranged the tickets?

Akshay:Itwas a secret between me,Aaakash Bhai and Aman Bhai

Akshay,aneasy going,handsome boy had almost completed his MBA.

Arnav:Whereis Jeejaji Di?

Anjali:He'llcome with nani and mami tomorrow.What about the deal chote?

Arnav:We'lltalk about it later.

Akshay:Wesaw a beautiful girl bhaiyya,when we were just turning to our mansion.

Aakash:Shewas very beautiful with full of bangles on both hands.

Arnav'sheart beat increased.He realized who it was.

Akshay:Haveyou met such a girl here bhai?

Arnav:No...No..andall of us are going back to Lucknow tomorrow.

Anjaly:No..notat all..we are going to celebrate the birthday of Di here.

Anjaliinvited the neighbours for her birthday...Arnav followed the sound of theanklets...All were enjoying the party...Lavanya was searching for Arnav...Thedoor closed.Khushi couldn't open it.

Arnav is already hooked. He thinks he is in charge, but his feelings are in charge now.

CHAPTER 4

Manyneighbours visited Anjali and Nani the next day.The brothers along withAnjali's husband Rakesh decided to celebrate Anjali's birthday.Some of theneighbours were invited including Shashi Gupta's family.Garima,Khushi's mother came to meet Nani.Lavanya and her family also reached from Lucknow.

There were nearly 40 to 50 people including the parents of Rakesh and Aman. Aman teased Arnav regarding the deal. Arnav asked him to keep quiet.

Arnav was impatiently waiting to see a face.It was getting dark.His wait was over and he saw Shashi gupta coming with his wife.But there was no sign of her.He feltdisappointed.Nani received them and asked:Where is your daughter?

Garima:She didn't come.

Nani:Iwant to see her.Please ask her to come.

Garima:We called her but she didn't come.

Shashi:She  is a bit annoyed about the deal

Nani;Deal?Whatdeal?

Arnavwas embarrassed and avoided the topic by telling Nani that he would explain itlater.

Hethought:So she is hesitant to meet me.

Anjalycame and asked the same:Please aunty.we'll leave tomorrow.I want to see yourdaughter.

Garimarang Khushi and asked her to come:Please beti,come naniji wants to meet you.

Anjaly:It'salmost 5 years that I met her.

Anjalytook the phone from her and talked to Khushi.

Thusafter a few moments Arnav saw her coming through the gates of themansion,breathtakingly beautiful in a red saree.

Aakashand Akshay together:My god..who is that?

Akshay:It'sthe girl we met in the morning.

Arnavfelt disturbed.

Aman:WhyYaar ..you seem irritated.

Lavanyacame and stood near him.She stood very near to him clutching his hands.

Allwere staring at Khushi.

Nani:Sheis very beautiful

Akshay:Yes..yes..nani

Naniglared at him.He hid behind Aakash.

Shecame and stood beside her mother.

Anjalyand nani hugged her.Khushi looked at Arnav and then to Lavanya.She saw himstaring at her and she didn't want to look away.The party started and all wereso immersed in the celebration except Akshay who was so obsessedwith Khushi.He was waiting for an opportunity to talk to her.Khushi was withAnjaly,nani and her mother.She felt the eyes of Arnav over her.He couldn't listen to what Lavanya was saying.The song Bairi Piya of Berose Guys was playing...Arnav excused Lavanya,took his mobile and moved to a corner away from the crowd.His eyes searched her,,the song was creating a sensual feeling,he couldn't see heranywhere there.He started to walk slowly through the guests,his eyeswandering.He heard Anjaly talking to Lavanya:The girl is really pretty.

Lavanya:Herhands are full of  bangles

Anjaly:Itsuits her beautiful hands and did you see her Payal?Very unique

Nani:It'sa traditional piece,very rarely scene nowadays

As Arnav was walking through the big hall he saw her movingwith some of the ladies through the steps.He was observing her.Aman's eyes werefollowing him.Pooja was with him.She said:Aman,see I think your boss friend isinfatuated with that girl.He didn't take his eyes from her the moment shestepped in.Aman closed her mouth with his hands and said:Hush...please.Shepushed his hands away and said:I've never seen him looking like that toLavanya.

Aman:Oh my God,Pooja keep quiet.I'm also afraid of the samething.

Pooja:Why should you be afraid?

Aman:You don't know him.If he desires something he will getit.

Pooja:So Lavanya?

Aman:Sure,there is a chance of heart break.

Arnav followed her.She was enjoying the paintings and flowerarrangement in the corridors.

The mansion had two blocks,one main building and a smallblock. She was chatting with the ladies and Arnav was mesmerized when hesaw  her laughing her heart out enjoying at a joke shared by one of theladies. He stood there watching her and came to his sense when he heard the sound of a message dropped to his mobile.He saw Aman's message: You rogue..Please don't stare at her like that..come back.

Arnav messaged back:Shut up..idiot.

By that time she was lost from sight.He saw the other ladies going through the side steps to the hall.But she was not with them.Arnavcontinued to walk.He looked in the whole building.She was not there.He openedthe window of a room upstairs and then she saw her going to the other blockalone.There were a few workers in the garden cutting the grass,she was talkingto them and then he saw her  taking a dove from the long verandah andcarrying it in her hands.It flew away from her and she ran through the verandahto get it.The workers were also staring at the beautiful figure and he feltvery annoyed and angry.He hurried to the other block and when the workers sawhim ,they began to get immersed in their work.She was no where there.But he heard the sound of anklets from inside.He followed it.He heard her runningsteps moving through the staircaseand he rushed to that side. That area of thebuilding was not used for a long time even though it was well maintained. Hesaw her getting inside a room and he followed. He stood in the doorway and sawher sitting on a slab inside the room carrying the dove.It was a beautifulpicture.He took his mobile and clicked it and kept the mobile in hispocket..She suddenly looked up and saw him standing at the door.She jumped upwalked towards him and tried to get out but he didn't move. He stood therelooking at her.He slowly got inside.She asked with fear:Why are you here?Hedidn't answer.Instead he stared at her..She pushed him with all herstrength and ran but he was quicker.He slammed the door and she tried to openit.He grabbed her shoulder  and asked her to stop.

Khushi:Open the door,I want to go.

Arnav:I will if you give me the word that you will sign the document

Khushi:No...never,

Arnav:Then we will be here together

Khushi:No..open the door,I'll scream

Arnav laughed:No one will hear..there is no one in thisbuilding

Khushi started to cry:Why are you doing this to me?

Arnav was moved by her tears.He tried to touch her cheeks buthe pushed him away.She tried to open the door again.

Arnav :Stop,I'll open it...After a few seconds he opened itand they got outside.She shrieked at him and said:I'll not ever sign thedocument and I'm going to tell everyone that you are misbehaving with me.Arnavwas too angry.He caught her by the waist which she didn't expect ,took her tothe room nearby,pressed her on the wall .He pulled her to his arms and as he was going to press hislips on hers he heard Lavanya calling his name.He almost touched her lips butwas startled to hear her voice.Both Arnav and Khushi were shocked.Arnav quicklywent down and saw Lavanya coming up.Before going down he told khushi:"Telleveryone  this also if you don't mind."

Lavanya asked :Arnav,where were you?Everyone is asking foryou,what are you doing here? He had to go with Lavanya reluctantly.

Khushi sat on the floor leaning on the wall.She was still inshock.She couldn't believe that all this happened to her.A man tried to kiss her...A man hugged her..she was so angry..how could he?She sat there for some time and then slowly went down to the main block where the celebrations were going on.She decided to go home but Anjaly saw herand asked:Where were you dear?Come let's dance

Khushi:No..Madam please

Anjaly:Madam...?No..no..just call me Di...

Akshay came forward and introduced himself.

Khushi's eyes were searching and searching.

Akshay led her to a chair and he sat nearby.Aakash also camethere and they together began to chat with her.She couldn't respondproperly,her eyes searching for him and then she saw her standing near a pillarwatching her.She quickly looked away.She heard Anjaly introducing Lavanya toevery one: Arnav's would be.Khushi saw Lavanya giving a light kiss on hischeeks but his eyes were staring at her.She stood up abruptly surprising Akshayand Aakash,said a curt bye and hurried to her home.She ran to her room,flungherself on the bed and cried her heart out.She didn't even know why shecried.But she couldn't control herself.

CHAPTER5

Arnav was totallyupset as he saw Khushi leaving.Akshay and Aakash were calling her but shedidn't respond.Anjaly,Nani and Garima wondered why she left abruptly.

Nani asked aboutKhushi to Garima. It's  then Arnav realized that she is studying in a college in the city..She stayed with her uncle in Lucknow and attended her classes.Her last semester exam was going to happen after 3 months. But she very much liked thevillage life.

The next day everyone left  for  Lucknow except Arnav.Akshay wanted to stay backbut Arnav didn't allow him. Aman talked to Arnav before he left.

Aman:Arnav,don'tspoil the life of the girl.. Lavanya is there even though I feel that she is not a match for you.

Arnav:Aman,you are late...get ready.

Aman sighed andsaid:I don't want to see you also heart broken.

Arnav stared at him.

Arnav was all alone with servants in the mansion.His desire to see her intensified.But it madehim angry also.He couldn't sleep that night.He realized that he is driftingaway from his usual state and decided to be free from the thoughts of her.Hecalled Ramanand,the real owner of the property he was going to buy andrequested him to come to the village.Arnav decidedto settle as early aspossible. He thought:I won't think about her,I won't meet her.

But "what ismeant to be always finds a way"

Ramanand came andunderstood the situation.He talked to Khushi and promised that he would makethe arrangements  for accommodating the old people comfortably some wherein the village itself.Thus Ramanand could make Khushi agree to the deal.Theproperty transaction was over and Arnav decided to start the work of the resortvery soon. Arnav left the village and reached Lucknow. Khushi and Arnav neverwanted to meet  again because both of them knew that they were falling foreach other.But the truth was that they could never forget each other.

Arnav continued with his normal routine in work but not a single day passed without her thoughts.The thoughts were killing him.The same was the case with Khushi.Shecouldn't concentrate in studies.Arnav knew that she was in Lucknow with heruncle and also knew the  college she was studying.Akshay had Khushi'snumber and it was through him that he came to have her updated knowledge.Arnavwas not happy about the friendship of Khushi and Akshay.

In the weekendArnav went to the village with Aman and his men to start the work of theresort.His eyes were searching for her but couldn't find her anywherethere.Anjaly and Nani were with him for Pooja before  starting theconstruction work. Shashi Gupta and Garima  also came.While talking Garima mentioned that Khushi was returning to Lucknow that evening.At once Anjali mentioned:Let her come with us.We're going today evening.Arnav didn't hear this talk between Garima and Anjali.

Khushi was not ready to go with them.But Anjaly called and asked her to get ready.She toldNani later:Nani,she'll be a good match for Aakash.Let her visit our home,firstwe'll take her there and then to college.

Nani:That's a goodidea.

As they startedfrom the mansion only Anjaly told Arnav to pick Khushi from her home.He was craving to meet her.Arnav:Why should we take the girl with us?It's unnecessary ,

Anjaly:Chote,she'sa good girl from a good family.She'll be a good match for Aakash.

Arnav was shocked.He couldn't accept it .Aman who was sitting on the front seat looked at him..Ashe neared her house they saw her parents waiting on the front side.Then to their utter shock they saw Khushi in a very latest attire,her hair and dress verysophiscated but modest.Arnav was spellbound and forgot the surroundings.

Anjaly:My God,what a make over...

Aman:Totally different...He chuckled.

Nani:The dress suits her..As she was placing her bags,Arnav came out from the car to help her.They looked at each other andcolour rose to her cheeks.Arnav couldn't help.He said:Beautiful and looked at her lips.She blushed and quickly went inside the car.Arnav throughout thejourney was restless and often looked through the mirror at her.Aman said under his breath:Concentrate on driving.

Khushi was takento Raizada house.

Theyreached the Raizada house in the evening.They were received with cheers byAkshay and Aakash.Akshay and Aakash praised her make over and soon were chatting as they they had known each other for a long time.Aman found Arnav very angry and disturbed.

Aman:Arnav,It'snot good for you,You please either stick on to Lavanya or open your heart to this girl.Both won't go together and it's not good for a gentleman.And Nani andAnjaly want Aakash to marry the girl.

Arnavstared at Aman and said::Aakash won't marry her.

Aman:This possessiveness itself is dangerous.If she iswilling?

Arnav:Never...I say never..Aman was shocked to see his bloodred eyes and clenched fists.

Aman:Arnav...?

Arnav left abruptly to his room.

Anjaly called Garima and sought the permission for Khushi tocome at weekends in Raizada house.Garima didn't approve but due to nani'spromise that she would take care of her,Garima allowed reluctantly.

Nani:It's getting dark,Khushi beti is to be dropped at heruncle's house.

Rakesh,Anjaly's husband came at that moment after work.

Anjaly:I'll go with her.

Nani:Rakesh has just come after his work know?Arnav is goingto drop Aman.She  can go with them.

Aman didn't want that to happen.He told:It's better Di tocome with her.Her uncle might be annoyed to find her dropped by us.

Akshay:I'll drop her.

Nani glared at him and said:No...Arnav will drop her.

Aman thought:Nani has no idea that she is  giving the key to the thief himself.

Arnav came from his room  changed into casuals andsaid:Aman,come let's go.

Nan:Chote,Please drop Khushi in her uncle's house.

Arnav :Me,no..I'll arrange a taxi for her. Khushi understood that he was simply acting as though he is not interested.

Anjaly:Don't be so rude..Khushi come,we're going.

Thus Arnav and Aman on the front seat and Anjaly and Khushiin the back seat started off.Arnav dropped Aman on the way who gave a warninglook to Arnav before he left.As they neared Khushi's uncle's house,shetold:I'll get down here.There's a five minutes walk to the house.It's a narrowturning.Vehicles won't go through that.

Anjaly:I'll come with you.

Arnav:No,Di..you sit in the car,It's night,I'll go withher.Khushi's heart began to beat wildly.

Khushi took her bags and began to walk.She heard him say:Letme, and took one bag in his hands.They started to walk together.As they wereout of sight of Anjaly,he asked her to stop.They were away from the streetlights.He called her name for the first time:Khushi..I want to talk to you.

Khushi:About?

Arnav:I don't like you mingling too much with my brothers.

Khushi:They are my friends

Arnav:But still I don't like you being too friendly withthem.

Khushi was angry:What authority do you have to talk to melike that?

Arnav:You perfectly know why I said so.

Khushi:I don't know.

Arnav said in a low dangerous tone:I'll make you understand.

She snatched the bag from him and said:Go away and don't talkto me anymore.You are going to marry  your childhood friend andmisbehaving with me.You are nobody to me and I'm nobody to you.

Then she ran away from there to her uncle's house

Arnav was shivering with anger. He returned to the carfurious.Anjaly asked him the reason and he said:Why should we give importanceto this girl?She is not a match to our family.

Anjaly:What's wrong with her?

Arnav:I'll find a more suitable girl for him.

Anjaly:Then Akshay is there.

Arnav shouted:Stop Di...

Anjaly:Chote...

After some time he said:Sorry di..I'm tired.That's why.

Arnav and Khushi had asleepless night.

The next day was a Sunday. Aman, Pooja and Lavanya  camein the morning.The whole Raizada family along with them was enjoying the dayexcept Arnav.He was very moody.He didn't know the mobile number of Khushi.Hedesperately wanted to hear her voice.He decided to get her number.It was atthat moment Nani said:Arnav,Your marriage date is to be fixed,I'm going to callpanditji tomorrow.Lavanya hugged Anjaly.They all were happy.

Arnav:No..Eh..Nani..please, I'm now concentrating onexpanding my business to other parts of the country.It can wait.

Aman observed Arnav and said:Please Arnav,don't be botheredwith business,we all are there to take care know?

Anjaly:Exactly.She looked at Lavanya,hugged her and said:It'shigh time that she should come to our house as our bahu.

Arnav suddenly raised his voice which shocked everyone:I toldyou know,it can wait.

There was total silence.No one could even open theirmouth.They were in utter shock.

Arnav took his car key and left abruptly.He didn't returnthat day.And didn't answer anyone's calls.

Lavanya cried and nani was too angry with Arnav.That was asad day for all.Lavanya's parents came and talked to Nani.They said:Let us talkto him.Please don't pressurize him.Marriage is not something to happen withpressure.Let him take his own time.What is the hurry?Anyway they are meant foreach other.Why should we unnecessarily worry?

But Lavanya understood something was wrong.Aman was also shockedto see Arnav's reaction.He thought:So Arnav is serious about that girl.I wantto talk to him.

Arnavcame back the next day by afternoon.He spent the previous night in his farmhouse.Her beautiful face,her mindblowing smile were killing him.He could sleeponly after having drinks.When he woke up,he found that,it was nearly noon.Itwas Monday,he had to go to office.Nani stopped him from going to hisroom.Anjaly clutched his hand.Nani:Chote,we want an answer.Why did you say noto marriage?

Anjaly:Youinsulted Lavanya

Arnav:Don't be dramatic over what happened.I'll let you know when I want to marry.In fact I never promised marriage to Lavanya.

Nani:Yourway of talking is not right chote.

Arnav:Ifall of you are not giving me peace of mind,better I change my stay to somewhereelse.

Naniraised her voice:Chote...

Hewent to his room and after some time left for office.Anjaly called Rakesh andinformed what happened.He promised that he would talk to Arnav.

Whenhe reached office he saw Aakash,Aman and Akshay sitting together andtalking.They stood up when they saw him.He went to his cabin straight and theyfollowed.He immediately assigned them tasks without giving them an opportunityto talk. Akshay was in the training period.After a few minutes Akshay came tohis office to check for some files in the adjoining room.Arnav saw Akshaykeeping his mobile on the table and going to the room.He suddenly took themobile and checked Khushi's number.He replaced the mobile and went back to thework he was doing.

WhenAkshay left he informed his doorkeeper that he was not to be disturbed for sometime.He typed Khushi's number with a thudding heart.She answered it after 3rings.

Arnav:Hello,

Khushi:Hello,MayI know who is speaking?

Arnav:Thisis me.Arnav

Khushiwas shocked:She said after a minute in an unfriendly tone:What do you want?

Arnav:You...Imean I want to meet you

Khushi:Forwhat purpose?

Arnav:I'lltell that when I meet you

Khushi:No..Iwon't come.

Arnav:Ok,thenI'll come to your college tomorrow.

Khushiwas alarmed:No..no ..never

Arnav:Thenbe a good girl and come to the mall tomorrow evening.

Khushi:Notmall.my uncle won't allow me to go alone there..I'll come to the temple.Shenamed the temple.

Arnav:Ok,perfect...Khushi...He whispered:You are beautiful.

Khushi cut the call and her hands went to her thuddingheart.She thought:My God..the way he said I'm beautiful...she closed her eyesand ears but the voice was haunting her.

She decided to put an end to it.The next day she went to thetemple and her eyes searched for him.There were many people moving here andthere and some of them stared at her.She was looking very pretty in a lightorange colour  saree.Then as she was searching him,she saw Anjaly,Nani andLavanya getting down from their car.Khushi was happy that Anjaly agreed to cometo the temple along with La and Nani.She thanked god for Arnav being late.Nanihugged her and together they went inside.As the Pooja progressed,she stoodbehind them and often glanced back to see whether he was coming.Then after afew minutes,she saw him coming towards the temple.She closed her eyes andprayed.

After the prayer,as they were coming down the steps in frontof the temple Anjaly exclaimed:Chote,how are you here?

It was Arnav's turn to get the shock.It took a few momentsfor him to respond:Eh...I ..heard that all of you are here.So as it is on theway home from the office,I just dropped in.Lavanya went near him and huggedhim.Arnav patted her shoulder and looked at Khushi.Khushi looked away.

Nani:This is a rare moment.Arnav in the temple..

 Arnav was too angry at Khushi because he was sure thatit was she who called them there.

Anjaly:Nani,just a second,let me and Lavanya  go and getthe Prasad .Khushi,please help nani to get inside the car.

Khushi:Ok,Di,

Nani:Khushi beti,please give the Pooja Thali to Arnav andtake my hand.While Khushi was handing over the Thali to him he placed his handsover her.She was shocked but it sent waves through her body ..She helped nani toget in.

Khushi said bye to all and left.Anjaly,nani and Lavanya leftin their car.

Khushi expected Arnav's call.But he didn't call for the next fewdays.  Arnav sent Akshay and Aakash  for Mumbai for one month fordealing with their investment there.

Khushi came to Raizada house on every Saturday.That Saturdayalso she came.Arnav decided to work from home.She spent some time with them and as she was leaving,he came and said:I'm going that way,I'll drop you.Khushisaid:No..thank you..I'll go by cab.

Nani:He's like your big brother...Please go with him.Arnavwas shocked.

Khushi controlled bursting out laughing:Big brother?My god...

A very reluctant Khushi left with him.After a few moments shesaid:Drop me near the cab stand.I'll go on my own.

He didn't reply.She was talking on.But he didn't utter asingle word.She saw him going away from the town and then she askeddesperately:Where are you taking me?

He drove on and at last reached a villa away from the townwhich was like a dream world.He parked the car and asked her to get down.Shedidn't obey.

Arnav:If you don't get down,I'll carry you from the car.

Khushi was afraid and suddenly burst into tears.Arnav wastensed and told her in a soothing tone:I'm not going to harm you.I just want totalk to you.He took her hands and led her inside.He said:The interiordecoration of this building is going on.It's not complete.

Khushi:I want to go

Arnav led her to the poolside and asked her to be seated .Shelooked at him with fear but saw his eyes very considerate.

Khushi:You are playing with me.My mamma always says that richand handsome men marry a rich and sophiscated woman but play with other girls.

Khushi cried when she heard Arnav's roaring voice:Stop youfool.What do you think of me ..a rapist?

She couldn't control her crying.Arnav went near her,looked ather and suddenly hugged her very tightly.He kissed her cheeks ,moved the hairlocks from her forehead and said:Look at me Khushi...look.She looked at himthrough her tears.He continued:See Khushi,I've never behaved with a girl as Ido now.Lavanya is my best friend.I never gave her any word of marriage,It's ourfamilies who decided it.Soon I'll make her understand that I can't marry her.

Khushi was in his arms,she could hear his heart beat,his kisson her cheeks aroused her.She was listening to him,half conscious.

Arnav:Promise me Khushi that you won't marry anyone else.

Khushi suddenly realized the situation.She pushed himaway.She said:No...Lavanya loves you.She already consider you  as herhusband.I'll never snatch the happiness of another girl.I want to see herhappy.

Arnav shook her:So you don't have any concern for me?

Khushi gathered courage and said:No...not at all and then sheran outside.She saw a man coming in a cab near the gate.The man got down.Sheasked him to stop.The man who came in the cab was going to the nearby house.Hestared at her and then he saw Arnav coming out of the building calling hername.She left in the cab.That night Aman received that man's call.

Aman asked him:Are you sure it was not Lavanya?

The man:Yes sir,it was a very beautiful girl,not Lavanyamadam.

Aman:Please,don't discuss this with anyone else.

Aman met Arnav:Where were you?

Arnav:Eh..I went to see how far the interior of the newbuilding is over.

Aman:Alone?

Arnav:Yeah...

Aman:So you have started telling lies to me.

Arnav stood up and said:What do you want to say?

Aman:You are playing with fire.It's a matter of two families.

Arnav started calling Khushi daily.Khushi didn't respond tohis calls and messages.One day Nani called Arnav and told:Arnav,I think we canforward the proposal of  Aakash to Khushi's parents.What about going totheir house this weekend?

Arnav:No..nani we will find another girl for Aakash.She isnot his type.

Anjaly:He ,I think,likes her.Anyway,you are not interested inmarriage at the moment.So we can think about his marriage.

Arnav:Don't you have anything else to discuss?he went awayfrom there.

Nani:Anjaly,there is something wrong.I see this change in himafter the coming of this girl. Anyway,I'm going to get Aakash engaged toKhushi.

Khushi and Lavanya were enjoying chatting by walking  inthe lawn. Suddenly the wind started and from the  trees on two  sides a branch came down where Khushi and Lavanya were standing.Arnavshouted:Khushi..be careful and he ran forward astonishing Lavanya.

 Arnav was desperate as Khushi was not answering his calls and messages .She stopped coming to the Raizada house with the excuse that she had project work.He was thinking of a way to meet her.

He heard from Anjaly that she left for village as she had no regular classes due to projects.He decided to go there with the excuse of monitoring the construction work of the resort.He reached there one night.He sent her message that he was at his mansion and wanted to meet her.She didn't reply.

The next day early morning he visited the site.On the way he met Shashi.He invited Arnav to his house.It was Khushi who opened the door.She couldn't believe that he was there.She stared at him and at once turned and went inside.He spent sometime talking with Shashi and Garima and as he was leaving Shashi told him:Beta,Khushi is completing her degree within a few months.If she is given some training in your firm,it would be an experience for her in future.Khushi who was standing inside was shocked to hear this.

Arnav was too happy at the unexpected chance.He said:I was looking for  a lady office assistant who can coordinate the work between me and my lady customers.As your daughter is now completing her course in business and accounts,I think she can help me .

Garima:Khushi...how can she?She is studying and not at all experienced.

Arnav:Please don't bother about it.My secretary Aman will give her training.She can reside with her uncle or in staff quarters.If you are interested,please inform me.If  she feels that she can't continue,she can quit at anytime.

Shashi:.We'll inform you.

After half an hour,as he expected,she called him.

Arnav laughed and said:So you know my number.How many days I'm calling you?

Khushi:You won't get what you want.I'm not going to work with you.

Arnav:But your  family put forward  the idea.

Khushi:Mr.Raizada,I'm trying my level best to avoid unpleasant situations but you are always afterme.

Arnav:Mr.Raizada..?You'll call me Arnav.

Khushi:No...

Arnav:Shall I come there and make you call so?

Khushi:What I have done to you ?Why are you behaving like this to me?

Arnav whispered:You come here,then I'll tell you the reason.

Khushi cut the call and was breathing heavily.

Khushi thought:Things are turning to a dangerous situation.Her parents trusted him as they thought that he was already engaged.

He called her again and said:I'll wait for you today evening in my mansion.

Khushi:I'll never come there as you are alone.

Arnav:So you don't trust me?

Khushi:No

Arnav:I think you don't trust yourself.Then I'll wait for you under the trees where we met first.

 Colour rose to her cheeks and she was silent.

Arnav:I think you are recalling that moments.I'm leaving today evening.I'll wait foryou there.If you have at least a concern for me,you'll come.Khushi..I came all this long way just to see you and talk to you.Please come.Come know?

Khushi said:No.

Arnav was now too angry.He exploded"Don't check my patience Khushi".

Khushi:you  are cheating Lavanya.

Arnav:I'm not her husband.

Khushi:May be,but she loves you.

Arnav:Ijust want to hear one word from you.She listened.

He asked:Do I mean anything to you?

Khushi didn't answer but he realised that she was crying.

ArnavSingh Raizada reached Raizada mansion at night with a strong decision.Khushikumari Gupta realized the truth that she loved him and wanted him desperately.But she firmly decided not to meet him again.She told her parents that she didn't like to work but wanted to complete her studies first.But Arnav had other plans for her.

Arnav tried to contact Khushi but she was not answering and after two days he found that the number didn't exist.He was at a rage.He was thinking of a way to meether.

Aakashand Akshay came back from Mumbai.Anjaly's second wedding anniversary wasnearby.He decided to celebrate it in the village mansion.He invited most of hisrelatives and friends without her knowing.He specially invited Shashi andfamily.It was only when they called Anjaly that she came to know about thegrand celebration he has organized for her.All were surprised as they knew thathe didn't like celebrations.

Amanunderstood his intention.He asked:Why a sudden interest in celebration and thattoo in the ancestral home?

Arnav:I'vegiven you lot of assignments.Are they complete?

Aman:Don't change the topic. I saw you going through the photos of Khushi in yourmobile.

Arnav:Youare spying on me.

Aman:Idon't want to see your life spoiled and you spoiling the life of two girls.

Arnav:Shutup.

Atthat moment Lavanya came there.Aman left after a few moments.

Lavanya:Arnav,shallI ask you something?

Arnav:Yes?

Lavanya:Doyou like me?

Arnav:Yes,sure

Lavanya:Ithink that I don't understand you nowadays.You're not calling me and not coming to our house.

Arnav:I'm sorry but I'm busy with the resort work you know?Be there for Di's wedding anniversary ok,he patted her cheeks and as he was going to leave she hugged him and said:Arnav,you never kissed me till date.

Arnav stiffened.He shrugged himself off and said:Lavanya,I'm already late.I'll talk to you later.He left.

Lavanya realized that he didn't love her.She had doubts but now she was some what sure but didn't want to accept it.

Thevillage mansion was fully decorated and the Raizada family reached there twodays before the celebrations.Arnav reached only on that day morning.He had onlyone intention.Lavanya and family also reached there.She took extra care incostumes and accessories and was looking extremely beautiful.

Thecelebrations started and Arnav's eyes were craving for one person.At last hesaw her coming with her parents.He heard Anjaly's comments about Khushi toNani:She was not ready to come ,I specially invited her.See nani,how beautifulshe is in that dress?

Akshayand Aakash went and greeted them.Her eyes met Arnav and quickly she lookedaway.He saw her blushing.She was talking to all and she and Lavanya walked inthe lawn talking to each other.It was a windy day and suddenly a small branchcame off from one of the trees nearby.Arnav shouted:Khushi,be careful.BothKhushi and Lavanya could move away and the branch fell on the ground. ButLavanya ,Aakash and Aman were shocked to hear Arnav's response.He was runningforward calling Khushi's name.Aman's hands went to his head.He said tohimself:Done..the cat is  out.

Aakashto Aman:Why Bhai is calling Khushi?

Aman:Thebranch was coming straight on her.

Aakash:Oh..maybe.

Lavanyawas looking at Arnav and Khushi with an expression which disturbed Khushi.Shesuddenly said: Lavanya, let me check where my parents are.She immediately leftfrom there.Arnav realized the situation and asked:Lavanya,are you ok?

Shesaid:Ok.

Arnavwalked away from there .He wanted to talk to her. 

PART 8

Aakash: Aman,I've adoubt.Why Bhai shouted Khushi's name?There is some thing wrong,and he is notinterested to marry also.

Aman decided to talk toAakash.He briefly mentioned about Arnav's infatuation to Khushi.

Aakash:But I don't thinkthat it is infatuation,bhai had met many beautiful girls earlier.He so far wasnot  involved with anyone.But if he is really concerned,then Lavanya wouldhave a heart break.

Arnav:That is why I'mafraid of.

Aakash:But I can't blamebhai,he,as far as I know,never gave a word to La.It was only a family decision.And I always felt that they are very formal.

Aman:I know,but Arnav should speak out,we should make him do so.

Aakash:I'm with you.

Aman:So as a first step,call Khushi and dance with her.Anyway the dance floor is ready.All are in a mood of dancing.

Aakash:No,She won'tcome.We'll make all ladies dance first.Let me see whether she joins.

Aakash took the mike and announced that the music is going to be played and he requested all the ladies and gentlemen to dance.Lavanya was not in a mood to dance,so also Khushi.Butall the other young girls and Anjali were thrilled and urged every one todance.Even nani tried .Anjaly dragged Khushi and Lavanya to the centre and soonall were dancing to the music.Arnav couldn't take his eyes away from her.He tookhis mobile and clicked pics.Khushi was so immersed in dancing and was notaware that many eyes were on her.Lavanya who was dancing saw in between Arnavlooking at Khushi with so much admiration that she couldn't control her tears.She moved away from there.All these were watched by Aman and Aakash.Khushiwhile dancing suddenly saw him staring at her.She stopped and looked around.Shecouldn't see Lavanya anywhere.She started searching for her.All the guests wereso immersed in the party,music and dance.Khushi was calling Lavanya's name andwas searching and searching.She searched in the rooms and she couldn't findher.As she was trying to get out of a room,she saw Arnav standing at thedoorway.He came in.She had no way to escape.

Khushi:Please go,don't come near me.

Arnav:Why?

 As she was going to run ,he caught her and gave her a bone breaking hug.He kissed her full on the mouth.She couldn't breathe.

As Arnav was going to kiss her neck, they heard Aman's voice calling Arnav.They were shocked andafter a few moments she fled from there.Aman saw Khushi running away and Arnavfollowing her.

Aman:Arnav,all arelooking for you.Both friends looked at each other for some time and then Amanbroke the silence by showing Arnav a photograph.

Aman said:Your eyes inthe photo reveals the truth.

Arnav:Tonight I'll tell Lavanya the truth.She'll understand.

Aman:Good.

Khushi was standing in a small room under the steps closing her eyes panting.Her whole body was shivering.She was kissed by him.Her hands went to her lips.She stood there for some seconds and then joined the crowd.She saw Lavanya looking at her.

Lavanya came forward andsaid:Khushi,I want to talk to you.

PART 9

Khushi'sphone buzzed.She saw Arnav's call.She cut the call but he called again and again.She moved away from the crowd and answered the call.He shouted at her:How dare you to cut my call?Then softened his tone:Khushi..I want to meet you.I'min the other block.Please do come.

Khushi:No..I'm already embarrassed at the way you were looking at me and giving me attention in front of others and how dare you to ki..kiss me?

Arnav:What's wrong in that?

Khushi:What'syour right?Who am I to you?

Arnav:Youdon't understand it still...?You are everything to me.

His husky voice was sending waves through her body.She cut the call and closed her eyes .

Arnav decided to talk to Lavanya.He called her aside and said:Lavanya I want to talkto you.

Lavanya:Regarding?

Lavanyaunderstood what he was going to tell.Suddenly she grabbed his hand and led himto the crowd.While walking fast she said: Arnav.we will talk later..let usenjoy the evening.Arnav was too annoyed and  he couldn't disclose thetruth to her that night.Lavanya soon joined the crowd and in between she sawhim staring at Khushi which disheartened and disappointed her.

Lavanyadecided to talk to Khushi.She called Khushi and both went inside a room.

Lavanya:Iwant to talk to you.

Khushi:About?

Lavanya:I'mcoming straight to the point.Me and Arnav know each other since childhood.Icannot think of a life without him.But he is somewhat attracted to you.

Khushistarted to talk but Lavanya cut her words.

Lavanya:Idon't blame you.It happens...please don't explain.But I want my Arnav back.Onlyyou can help me.

Khushiwas in tears.She could say only this much:I Promise that I will keep away fromhim. I promise...She couldn't remain there for long.She took a few stepsbackwards and ran from there.

Lavanya had a smile on her face.

 Anjalysaid something in Nani's ears.They called Garima and Shashi aside and said:Weare interested in an alliance with your family.We are asking for Khushi's handfor Aakash.It was their turn to be shocked.Shashi:We are too happy but oureconomic and social  status are different.

Nani:Pleasedon't bother about it.If Aakash and Khushi agree,I think we'll be at your homefor formal proposal.

Whilesaying goodbye she didn't even look at him which disappointed and disheartenedhim.Both couldn't sleep and Khushi saw his messages throughout. She cried thewhole night while he was awake the whole night waiting for her replies.

Thenext day her parents told her about the proposal. She couldn't even believethat it was happening and her mind was in a turmoil.But she had to keep thepromise given to Lavanya.She told them that she would give a reply after aday.She thought:I will never marry Aakash,because I cannot cheat him but toescape from the situation it would be better to say yes.After thinking for alot of time she agreed to the proposal.Her parents passed the happy news to raizada house.

In Raizada house Aakash was facing a difficult situation.He knew that his brother liked Khushi.He was going to say No' but before that he called Aman anddiscussed the matter.Aman:Aakash,I know Arnav.Don't worry,if he really lovesthe girl he would make her his own or if it is a pass time,he would learn to forgether by respecting her as his brother's would be.Thus Aakash decided to give ita test.He also didn't want to marry her.He decided to keep a respectfuldistance from her.He felt the situation very awkward.He decided to have an opentalk with her.

Arnav couldn't even believe what he heard.After office,whenhe came home Nani said:Chote,do you know,both Aakash and Khushi agreed tomarry.

Arnav:What...?

Nani:Yes..and if you are not ready then he is all ready formarriage.

Anjaly:We want both the engagement on the same day Chote.

Arnav:Did aakash agree?

Anjaly:Ha...why shouldn't he?

Arnav:And Kh...that girl?

Nani:Ha...why?

Arnav felt the whole building revolving around him.He stormedinto his room,shut it and sat on the couch closing his eyes.He sat there for sometimeand took his mobile and pressed her number.He sent her a message:Did you agreefor marrying Aakash?He got the reply after sometime.Till then he walkedrestlessly in the room.

The reply was "yes".He couldn't believe,he calledher and asked her to talk.She said:I've nothing to discuss.Please don't call meagain.She cut the phone and burst into tears. He didn't know what to do.He wasgetting mad.He drove off to his Villa which was under construction.Aman saw himlater there at late night.

Arnav was tough with employees and kept aloof from Aman.

Khushicalled Aakash:Aakash,I want to talk to you.

Aakash:Me too.They met in a cafe. .Khushi told Aakash that shedoesn't like to marry him but was not ready to disclose the reason.Aakash alsosaid that his condition was also the same.

They laughed and became good friends that moment onwards.Theydecided to tell their family.

Lavanya realised with pain that Arnav'behavior towards herbecame too formal and he was totally withdrawn.Shewas depressed and was feeling hatred towards Khushi.But as she was verymatured,she thought:How could I blame her?She was not clinging on to him.Sheaccepted my request to keep away from him.But how far I can do that?If she getsmarried to Aakash,the possibilities of both getting close would be increasing.How far he can be loyal to me?She heard Anjaly's voice breaking her thoughts.

There was a get together in Raizada mansion and after the dinner while Khushi was entering their car with her mothe,the door was shut by their driver without seeing Khushi's hands inbetween and her fingers got injured.She screamed with pain and Arnav who wasstanding upstairs looking at her leaving ran downstairs and to the carporch.Garima and Anjaly brought her to the living room.Lavanya brought firstaid box and they together did the first aid.Arnav forgot everything andtold:Khushi,are you ok?Do you want to go to hospital?Khushi couldn't controlher tears.His concern brought back memories .All thought that she was cryingdue to pain.Arnav wanted to take her in his arms and console her.He waslost.Lavanya was silently watching him,so also Aakash.Aman was out of station.

Nani:Please don't go today.It's a bad omen.

Anjaly:Yes,please

Shashi:No..please nani...I have to reach there today.Thusthey left after 1 hr.

Arnav was very tensed and worried.Anjaly,nani,Lavanya and herparents were chatting.

Nani said to Lavanya's parents:Please attend evening poojaalso.

In the evening, when Lavanya went to Arnav's room she heardhim saying:Khushi,are you ok?How is your hand?Answer me dammit.I know why youare avoiding me?He looked back as he heard someone entering.He saw Lavanya standing there listening.He slowly switched off the mobile and looked at her.

Arnav:Hai...

WhenLavanya left he again tried to call her but her phone was switched off.

Thenext morning Arnav woke up when he heard continuous knock on his bedroomdoor.It was Anjaly:She was so tensed.She said:Chote,Shashi uncle ishospitalized.He had a minor attack.

Arnav:Whotold you?

Anjaly:Khushicalled me.Aakash has already left in the early morning along with Akshay.

Arnavwanted to reach her side as quickly as possible.He was thinking:Why didn't shecall me?Am I  a stranger to her?

Arnav:Whydidn't you inform me then Di?

Anjaly:Iknocked on the door.You didn't answer.

Heremembered that he slept late last night.

Anjaly:I'malso coming with you.

Arnav:No..wethree will manage.He called Aman and said that he and his siblings won't becoming to office that day.

Arnavtried to call Khushi but she didn't answer his calls.He called Aakash and heardthat Shashi  is out of danger.He reached there by lunch time.He met Akshay who was getting inside the car infront of the hospital.He asked:How isMr.Shasi?Akshay:He is ok now.

Arnav:whereis Aakash?

Akshay:Hewent to get food for Khushi and to drop Garimaji at home.

Arnavwent to meet Khushi and his father.His heart was thudding.He saw her sitting ona chair outside the room.He stood there watching her.She looked very paleand  her eyes were swollen. She ,after a few minutes,saw him standingthere looking at her. She slowly rose from her seat,walked slowly and then ranto him.She hugged him and cried.He was so touched .He hugged her back.She feltsafe and secure in his arms.He realized how desperately he missed her,lovedher.She sobbed and said :I wanted you on my side.I wanted to see you .Hesaid:It's ok Khushi,now I'm here know?Don't cry.He kissed her forehead and thenasked:why didn't you call me then?Khushi:I thought that I lost papa.I can'tbear it Arnavji.She was still hugging him.Aakash was watching this touchingscene by hiding behind the door to the corridor.He wiped away tears from hiseyes. Arnav held her close to him and said:Khushi..I'll take care of you.

It wasthen Khushi became aware of what she was doing.She shrugged herself off,lookedat him wide eyed,stepped back and turned and ran to the room where her fatherwas lying.Before Arnav could stop her she was gone.

EventhoughShashi was out of danger,he needed better treatment and a surgery..It requireda huge amount.The doctor advised for a better treatment in the city.EventhoughKhushi's father had savings, they needed money for future.

Arnavcouldn't talk to her further.He asked Aman to make arrangements for shiftingthem to Lucknow ,arranging accommodation and admitting Shashi in the besthospital.

Arnavcame back to Lucknow and he couldn't forget the way she hugged him.He wanted toput an end to all the drama and decided to talk to her once she came toLucknow.

Lavanyacame to know that Arnav went to village to meet Khushi.

Amanmet him at his home at night..Both of them were sitting in the balcony of hisroom looking at the crowd moving outside the gates of Raizada house.

Amanasked:Arnav,what is your decision regarding your marriage?

Arnav:I'lltell you later.

Aman:Pleasecome to a decision fast.Other wise it will spoil the life  and name ofthree families.I know that you don't love Lavanya and you are not going to behappy with her.I also hope that your love towards Khushi is not infatuation.

Arnav:Aman,you know me well.If I wanted anything so desperately I would get it.

Aman:Lavanya?

Arnav:Ican't cheat her.

Aman:ButI don't think that she would easily accept it.

Arnav:I'lltell her ,I'll make her and her family understand but Khushi is not ready to doanything that hurts Lavanya.

Aman:Thatis why she agreed to marry Aakash..

Arnav:DoesAakash know the truth?

Aman:Ithink so.

Khushiand her parents started to reside in one of the  villas arranged byArnav.Anjaly and Nani went to meet them.Shashi was taken to the hospital andthe date of the surgery was fixed.

Lavanyawent to meet Khushi and her parents.Lavanya talked to Khushi for some time andwhile leaving she said: Khushi,I know that this is not a suitable moment totalk to you regarding my problem.But I hope that you understand.You'll marryAakash know?

Khushiwas very annoyed.She said:I may marry or may not marry Aakash but I'm not goingto be in your way.At present my concern is my family,my father,nothing else.AndLavanya how can you live with a person about whom you are not sure ..not surethat he loves you...Then love is not something that can be done by force.It isa feeling that bind two people. Be with some one who take care of yoursoul,your heart,your well being,everything that's you.Arnav doesn't love you.Ican move out of your way,but if he loves me he will come to me.I can't stophim.She was takenaback by her own response.Lavanya was standing in front of herwide eyed and stunned.

Khushi:I'msorry,but I had to say this.

Lavanyaleft without a word.

Khushifelt relieved after a few days of mental agony.She felt pity to Lavanya.

Khushimet Anjaly and expressed her wish to work and earn.She needed money.

Nani:Whyshould you earn?You are coming to our family as our bahu.

Khushi:Butnani,I want to support my family.Now itself Arnavji has spent a lot for myfather.We cannot tax him always.

Anjaland Nani laughed:You are very formal Khushi.Anyway I'll ask him to help you.

Anjalydiscussed it with Arnav.He was too happy because he thought that she would bewith him in the office.He called and asked her to report in the office the nextday.

Amanwhistled when he heard the news.

Aman:Sothings are going to be complicated.

Arnav:No...It'sgoing to be more easy.

Khushientered the AR office .Her heart started beating wildly.

Shewas taken to Arnav's office.He looked at her with an expression which urged herto hide somewhere.She thought:My god..his eyes...

Herose from his seat and came near her.Her hands were trembling.He stood lookingat her and stretched his right hand. She placed her hands in his and withinmoments he dragged her to him and said:So you are near me as I wished.She couldstruggle herself free and she said in a trembling voice:I need a job.if you canplease help me.

Arnavsmiled and said:Of course.He spoke to Aman through intercom.Aman came in and hegave Khushi the details of her work.Thus she started to work in Raizada office.

Shashi was getting better and he was checked by experts.The doctors saw a tremendous improvement in his health and decided not to conduct the operation.They adviseda few months rest and medication.Khushi and Garima were very happy.Shashi andGarima wanted  to go back to the village.But Khushi decided to continue with her work and to attend her exams but her stay was the problem.Her uncle's house was faraway from the office.She decided to stay in a hostel but Arnav arranged it in his aunt's,nani's sister's house.His aunt was on a tour with herson and came back a few days back.Her son was in US and was on vacation withhis family.He went back to US and she was alone.Nani talked to her and she washappy to accommodate Khushi.She was entirely different from nani.She was afunny character but very spiritual.She visited pilgrim centres in her son'sabsence where nani accompanied her. Khushi, at first, was reluctant to staythere but her mother found it safe for her instead of a hostel.

Garimaand Shashi returned to the village thanking the Raizada family foreverything.The whole expense in the hospital and the rent of the villa etc werepaid back to Arnav before he left.Garima felt very sad to leave Khushi behindbut there was no way.Before leaving Shashi Gupta  told Nani:Naniji,I wishmy daughter to get married before something happens to me.

Nani:Youare perfectly ok Shashiji.God is there with you.Regarding marriage,Why shouldwe delay?I'm waiting for Arnav's word for his marriage.Don't worry Shashiji,wewould conduct the engagement ceremony fast.

Arnavwas burning with fury.When they left he told nani:Nani,I'm not marryingLavanya.If you want Aakash to get married,it's ok.why should you urge me tomarry?

Naniand Anjaly jumped to their feet:What?

Arnav:Yes,Lavanyaknows it very well that I'm not going to marry her.

Nani:Chote,Whatare you saying?

Arnav:Ican't marry a girl I don't love.

Nani:What would I say  to her parents?Do you realize it now after all theseyears?Why didn't you say this earlier?

Arnav:Inever told her that I would marry her.May be she had  false hopes.But askher whether I've shown any such interest in her.Both families decided the matter not us. I can'teven imagine her as my wife.I'm sorry.

Naniand Anjaly sat there for a long time discussing the situation.It was an uttershock to them.They were very sad and angry.

Nani:AnjalyWhat would we say to the poor girl?Why he suddenly says so?

Arnavwent straight to meet Lavanya and her parents.It was then her parents told thatLavanya was found very quiet and remained in her room for most of thetime.Arnav went and called her.She was unusually quiet and was aloof.Herparents were worried.So Arnav didn't tell his decision.He spent some time thereand left.It was in the evening he received a call from her parents to reach thehospital.Nani and Anjaly also followed.Her parents were in a panic when doctortold that she was undergoing depression.The doctor asked him about theirrelation and he told the truth.Lavanya's parents were shocked now when theycame to know that he was not going to marry her.

Doctor:Youmay not marry her but at present she needs love and care.So please show someconcern till she improves.

Arnavagreed halfheartedly.Khushi came to know about Lavanya's condition but didn'tgo to meet her  as she was very guilty as she felt that she was the reasonfor her condition.

Arnavwent to meet Lavanya daily so that her condition began to improve.Arnav toldher parents that he cannot cheat her by marrying her .He told them that shewould slowly realize it and then he would find a good boy for her who wouldlove her and take care of her.Lavanya attended counseling and then began toshow tremendous improvement in her approach.

Naniand Anjaly blamed Arnav for Lavanya's condition.Then he said:Ok,I'll marry herbut when I'm aloof after marriage she'll undergo the same situation.So whatwill be the solution?Di,I know that I could have mentioned it earlier.But I wasnot sure whether I'm right or wrong.

Anjaly:Whatchanged your mind?

Arnav:No...nothing.

Lavanya'sparents and Nani and Anjaly had a discussion about her future.Lavanya decided to go to her aunt in London.

One day Lavanya asked Arnav:May I come with you to your office for a few days?I'm feeling bored by sitting alone at home.

Arnav:Ofcourse.

Lavanya met Khushi in the office.She began to help Khushi in her work.

Naniand Anjaly had no idea regarding Arnav's interest in Khushi. They decided to conduct the engagement of Aakash and Khushi in the next week.They told the matter to Arnav and Khushi's parents.Arnav and Khushi were shocked 

Nanicalled Panditji the next day asked about the good day to conduct the engagementand marriage.Nani also asked about Arnav's future regarding marriage.ThenPandit told that Arnav's marriage should happen only after 6 months butAakash's marriage was to be conducted at the earliest.

Aakash:Idon't believe in such stupid superstitions.

Arnav:Exactly.

Akshay:ThesePanditjis say some blunders to get money.

Nanishouted at them:Don't tease learned and aged people.

Arnav:I want to say something regarding my marriage.

Aakash:metoo.

Nani;Iwon't listen to both of you.She went furiously to her room.

Thenext day morning before the Raizada brothers woke up Nani left to her brother'shome and Anjaly  left to Rakesh's house in Delhi.Both of them were veryannoyed at the brothers.

Arnavand Aakash came to a decision.Aakash told that he knew that Arnav loved Khushi.

It wasa cloudy day.By evening there was thunder and lightning.Arnav dispersed hisemployees before the scheduled time.Khushi was coming from her office.Arnavblocked her way.

Aftertwo days ,with a list of files  in hand,pen in between the lips,Khushi wassearching for files in the stock room.Arnav saw her going to the stock room.Allemployees were immersed in their work in the ground floor.Aman had gone to theother showroom.Aakash and Akshay were in the construction site.Arnav moved tothe stock room.He looked around,got inside and locked the room.

PART 11

            Lavanya entered Arnav's cabin one afternoon.She knocked and entered.Khushi was going through an album and Arnav was standing very near to her.In between Arnav wassmiling and looking at Khushi in such a way that Lavanya had a sudden jolt inher heart. Arnav moved strands of hair from her forehead and said some joke towhich she laughed softly.Both didn't even know that Lavanya was there.Shequickly turned back and left.She couldn't bear the pain.She thought:I'm afool,Arnav never loved me...I could see love in his eyes today,She adoredKhushi...No..I can't bear it.

Arnav tried to bring  Nani and Anjaly home.But nani and her relatives decided to go for a religious trip to visit different temples and holy spots.

Khushi attended all her   exams and taking leave for a week went to the viilage.Arnav left the next dayfor the village and returned only after a few days along with Khushi.Khushiwent to his aunt's house.

Akshay returned toLondon in the next week when Arnav returned from the village.Anjaly and Nanicame back home.Arnav decided to talk about his marriage with Khushi.Whilereturning from office,he was going to the living room to talk to both Anjalyand nani.It was then Anjaly came running in panic crying  and toldArnav:Chote..nani fell in the bathroom.She is unconscious.Arnav at once calledambulance.Aakash,Arnav,Aman and Anjaly were waiting impatiently outside theICU.The doctor came out and told that she was out of danger but 48hrs.observation was required.The second day in hospital nani asked for Arnavand Anjaly.She told that she wanted to meet Lavanya.

Arnav brought her tonani .Nani asked for the hands of Arnav and Lavanya and took Lavanya's handsand placed it in Arnav's hands.She told in a feeble tone:Chote,don't leaveher,make her yours and look after her well.Arnav didn't mention anything.Hekept quiet.In fact he listened patiently and said nothing.Nani asked him topromise.Then Arnav said:Nani,take rest and don't think anything now exceptabout getting better.We'll talk later.Then nani said:This is my last wish.ThenArnav said:You are going to come back in good health.Doctor told me so.ThenArnav left the room.He was very irritated.

He went straight toAman.

Arnav:Aman,you areright.I could have handled the situation better.Nani is doing emotionalblackmailing.Whatever happens I will never marry Lavanya.Lavanya knows that Idon't love her but even then  she expects me to propose.

Aman:You are responsiblefor this situation Arnav.

Arnav:I know

Aman:I know that you spent one week with Khushi in Gorakhpur.What about her parents?Do they know?

Arnav:No

Aman:Before her name gets poilt marry her.

Arnav kept quiet.

Aman:You are not playing with her?

Arnav:Never

...

Nani spent one week inhospital and then came home.She asked Lavanya's parents to reach Raizada housealong with Lavanya one Sunday.They came and while they were talking Arnav camethere.As Nani was going to say something,there came a ring in their landlinephone.Hariprakash took it and called Anjaly:Madam,there is a call from naniji'ssister.

Arnav becamealert.Anjaly answered it.

. Arnav:What's it Di?

Nani:What's it Anjaly?

Anjaly:Khushi is notwell. She is to be taken to hospital.She is crying and asks for her mother.

Now Arnav was tensed,very tensed.He asked:What is wrong with her?

Anjaly:She has fever

Lavanya was looking atArnav.She saw how tensed he was.He went to his room and called Khushi.Her phonewas switched off.

Lavanya's parents leftand Anjaly decided to go with Khushi to the hospital.She took Aakash with her.

After two hours shereturned Raizada mansion with Khushi.Arnav opened the door.

Anjaly,Nani'ssister,Aakash and Khushi entered the living room of the Raizada house.Khushilooked pale.Nani was taking rest in her room.Arnav and Khushi looked at eachother. Anjaly went straight to nani's room.

Khushi wanted to talk desperately to Arnav but didn't get a chance.They had lunch and then everyonewent to their rooms for taking rest.Anjaly took Khushi to her room.In theevening while they were again gathered in the guest room except  Khushi,the door bell rang and when it was opened they saw Khushi's mother standingoutside.

Garima:Anjaly beti,whydid you ask me to come so urgent?how is Khushi?

It was Arnav's turn tobe so tensed.He thought:There is something wrong.

Nani :Garimaji,We'reupset to say something to you but don't be angry with your daughter.This is atime we have to be very patient eventhough it is not possible for a mother.

Garima was inpanic:What's it?

Nani's sister:Your daughteris pregnant.

Garima fainted.

Aakash jumped to his feet and Arnav couldn't even move from his seat.
