Yup! The way they laid the foundation for their angle (actually written far better than APs foundation) means they can build on it when he comes back.
There is only a limit to how much the audience can take these soulmates seperating & then crying about it.

If you are planning to watch a reboot of probably the most iconic love triangle there was on ITV then you best be prepared. There’s too much of a denial to accept that Prerna fell in love with Bajaj too and spent more time with him than she did with Anurag. They had a marriage and that was the major chunk of the show.
Honestly how long can they keep pining for each other? After this track, if they keep the same thing up, people will be DONE. And they can't make them meet either. Plus they've given each other NOTHING but intense agony and pain. Have always failed to form a relationship and at this point their love is nothing but talk. This needs to move from its stagnation and that will only happen when they'll each fall out of love with the other person. Their love won't have to die, just take a different shape. And Prerna needs a companion in her life. Because she won't reunite with him until death. And that will be, HAS TO BE Bajaj. THE END.

But honestly i dint think Prerna can think beyond her Soulmate. So itna deep Cvs don't think won't think not happening at least from Prerna's side. She still be in WOH DIL KE BURE NAHI HAI mode and Bajaj in MERA KURTA KAHAN HAI 🙄

You know the part Ishq Hayee that comes at the beggining of the song Salaam-e-Ishq? Well Ayaz aka Dr. Shubhankar got that line of the song in the show in DMG and it became a fixture with his character after that with all characters teasing him in the show with 'Ishq Hayee' until the very end. And KSG Ayaz still joke about it because it's such a staple of Ayaz's DMG character and their memories.😆
