@bold at your first line- Not every TV actor does bad in Bollywood. Maybe the proportion in less, but there are actors like Ayushmann Khurrana who was already a well known face in MTV, then comes Sushant Singh Rajput who was doing popular TV shows and the latest addition is Mrunal Thakur, she has also a fresh start in Bollywood and was well known for her Bulbul role in Kumkum Bhagya. We don't have to underestimate every TV actor out there who wants to join Bollywood. Some of their script choice go wrong and they do have a harsh start, but not all of the TV actors' effort go fruitless in Bollywood.

Has there been any other tv actresses before who had a successful career?

I think Vidya Balan came from TV. Yami was also a TV actress few years ago before she joined Bollywood. Mouni is doing good now. So there you are.

If actors/actresses do whatever roles they get to earn their bread and butter, why should they be mocked?

TV stars don’t have the longevity. In one mega serial, they are the leads. After that, one flop show. Next they will be asked to play parents role. If they have started their family in real, they are bound to accept (Hiten Gouri). Sometimes political party’s offer too. They have to do it for their family maintenance.

Yes. They had a successful show. But they did not call themselves superstars. Unfortunately, movie industry prefers relatives and friends over established names in telly.

Lucky that we are not in that insecure industry. It is easy for us to mock them. But putting ourselves in their shoe. After a successful show, could we have gone idealistically (not doing any shows/ “cheap” films) and sit idly?

As long as what they are doing is legal and they are not asking us for money, they command dignity of labour.
