I doubt I'll get anything as bang on in my write up as I did yesterday but phir bhi, here's a little something. 😆

Naeem Bi and I had both touched upon Minnie's transition from childhood to adulthood. Regardless of when a transition takes place, there's always a shedding of the old and embracing of the new. Similarly, there will be certain parts to her that Minnie will have to let go of so that she can fully embrace this new stage in her life. Whether it's her previous perceptions of her mother, or certain viewpoints that she's been holding tightly onto. She needs to let go of something so that she can move forward in life. If not, then she'll forever make herself a vulnerable target to needless pain and suffering.

If Babes is changing, then learn about that change. Is it beneficial to her or harmful? Then after making that assessment, make a decision. Guide her if she's straying, or support her if she's on the right path. This should also be applied to Babes when it comes to Minnie.

When it comes to birth, a literal and visceral pain touches both the mother and child. For the mother, it's the contractions and labor pains while for the child it's the literal separation from the mother. It is released from the protective womb and has to learn how to function in the world all on its own. It needs to learn how to breathe so that it can survive. Very often the first sign of life is demonstrated with its cry.

It's funny how a cry has come to signify the start of a new life and yet, we spend all our lives trying to avoid doing just that.

Today too, on her birthday, as she officially transitions into adulthood, both Minnie and Babita are crying. It's okay. After all, it is the start of something new. What they should strive to do however, is ensure that the rest of their days are filled with happiness and complete trust. Assure each other that come what may be, they'll always be together emotionally. At the end of the day, nothing is more important for a parent or child than knowing that unconditional and immense love is being received on both ends.

I hope today's episode is just as nice as yesterday's.

Hope you all enjoy. <3

Update:

  • Mickey tells Minnie that he knows she's upset that Babes forgot her 18th birthday but to let it go. What's the point of being so angry? Minnie clarifies that she's not angry, she's hurt. Mickey tells her that even he would have been hurt if his mom had forgotten his 18th birthday, but don't let differences arise between them because of this.
  • He tells her that the one thing that will make Babes the happiest is knowing that her decision to marry HS was correct. Minnie asks what the connection is between her birthday and the marriage. Mickey tells her that all the problems that have arisen thus far is because of the marriage. He thinks that Babes is scared that her decision to get married hasn't gone well with Minnie. He tells Minnie to assure Babes that she's the happiest because of the marriage. That she's not lonely, that she and HS are like a real father-daughter, that the three of them are the perfect family unit that she always wanted. He knows that none of this is real but Babes needs to believe it. He tells her that we usually expect our moms to be the most mature but in some cases, it is the other way around. But that doesn't mean that we don't love them. Minnie agrees saying that she loves Babes even more than herself. Mickey emphasizes on her reassuring and keeping Babes happy. It's her 18th birthday, show everyone that she has become a mature and sensitive adult. Go and impress everyone again.
  • Babes is thinking back on the advice Naeem Bi had given her about how Minnie needs a mother and a friend who understands her just like she understands Babes.
  • Minnie goes home and sees the cake that Babes baked. She also thinks back to what Mickey has just told her about Babes' fears and guilt. She goes up to Babes and hugs her.
  • Babes asks her how the exams went and Minnie tells her they went great. They both say they love each other. Babes apologizes for forgetting her birthday. Minnie tells her that she isn't upset that Babes forgot, but for the fact that she still hasn't wished her. They hug and have a few happy moments where they cut the cake and Babes gifts her the anklet she bought for her.
  • Minnie comes home with a gift wrapped photo frame and is going upstairs with it. She overhears HS & Babita fighting.
  • Babita is complaining about how HS didn't get Minnie a gift for her birthday. HS defends himself saying that he didn't know that Babita wanted him to get a gift for her. It's not like she told him and it's not like he's going to get a signal about it in a dream. Babita argues as to how is this something that needs to be told? Couldn't he have thought about this himself?
  • She tells him that he needs to understand but he's not even trying to. His relationship with Minnie is very delicate right now. Everyone's eyes are on this relationship and they will all taunt her saying, look a daughter has been separated from her mother, not that a daughter has gotten a father. And how will they? It's not like he or Minnie have developed that father-daughter relationship yet.
  • HS asks why is she taunting him over this? He has told her many times that it takes time for relationships to develop, they can't be forced. Besides, if all it took were to buy gifts to prove one's love, then he would make a huge line of them to show how much he loves Minnie. Babita argues that Minnie doesn't care about gifts. What she cares about is how love is expressed and how important she is in his life.
  • She goes on to express how when she was a child no matter how many gifts she got, she always used to have her eyes on the door as she waited for the postman to arrive with Ashok's gift for her. She used to keep all of his gifts with the utmost care. Babita wants HS to fill the void that Ashok has left in Minnie's life. She's been trying so hard to develop that father-daughter relationship between them but he's not even making the effort to do so.
  • HS questions her that he doesn't want the same? That he's not putting in the efforts? Babita says that he isn't, because if he had then he wouldn't have forgotten such an important day. She further questions him that if it had been his own flesh and blood daughter then would he have done this? HS counters this by saying that if it had been his own daughter then she wouldn't be testing his love like this. Okay, so he forgot to bring a gift today. He'll bring one the next day what difference does it make? Babita argues how it does make a difference because kids expect so much on their birthdays. HS confronts her saying that there were many expectations from her too but she also forgot Minnie's birthday. Does that make her love for Minnie any less? Babita questions if he'll taunt her over this. He says, what else is he supposed to do?
  • They keep fighting while Minnie clutches the photo frame that she had brought.
  • Minnie's in her room studying when HS comes knocking on the door asking for permission to come in as he doesn't want to disturb her.
  • Minnie allows him in. HS wishes her a happy birthday by extending his hand. After a few moments, Minnie finally shakes it, saying her thanks. HS apologizes for stopping her from meeting Babes last night. If he had known that it was her birthday, he wouldn't have stopped her. Even today, he came empty handed. Minnie tells him it's okay, she understands. HS tells her that it's not okay. Since it's her birthday, he should have done something special for it. Something that would have made her happy and that she would have liked. But he didn't even know.
  • He tells her how he has failed. He has failed before in life but today was his biggest defeat. He couldn't be the kind of father that his mom wanted. He tried a lot but he still hurt both of them even if it was unintentional.
  • Minnie thinks back to Mickey's words about giving Babes reassurance. She offers HS some tissues to wipe his tears. She tells him she knows that he's trying his very best and how there are a lot of expectations and stress placed on him by both Babes and the society. But in all of this the natural process of relationships, friends and love is being squashed. And maybe things are more difficult because not all relationships have been defined. HS comments on how she's talking a lot of big things. What exactly does she want to say?
  • Minnie tells him that if she doesn't know if what she's saying is right or wrong, she's just saying what she has observed. With this marriage, HS & Babes relationship was defined as a husband and wife, but his and Minnie's wasn't. There's no definition for it. HS tries to deny it saying how isn't there? But Minnie tells him that he knows exactly what she's talking about. He's only behaving this way because he's really stressed due to Babes' immense pressure.
  • She tells him that there is an immense pressure on them to show that they are father-daughter because they don't have that biological connection. Maybe that's why their relationship has gotten so awkward because before this he never needed permission to enter her room or felt the compulsion to apologize to her, so why now? He doesn't need to try so hard or prove to anyone how much they care for each other. Not to him or to her. The matter is between them both, why should anyone else care?
  • She knows that he's older and she's younger and that he should have been explaining all this to her but in this relationship, he and Babes are acting like kids. Frankly, she doesn't care if they remain like this because she's happy in this. She also tells him how he's still her guide and friend. He asks her, and hero? It takes her a moment but she agrees that he's her hero too. She wipes his tears while doing so. He married her Babes and gave her so much happiness so of course he's her hero. She tells him not to stress out so much, she likes him as he is. He doesn't need to change himself for anything and not to take Babes' words so seriously. The next time she tells him that she needs to Minnie's perfect father then tell her not to interfere as it's his and Minnie's private matter. It's okay, they're fine as they are. He, as her imperfect Hanuman Uncle and she as his imperfect Veer Balika.
  • HS asks her if she'll stay happy like this. Minnie is a bit taken aback by this but tells him of course she'll be happy, what'll happen to her? She didn't get Babes married because she wanted a father. She's 18, not stupid. She also tells him that regardless of how Ashok is, she can't change the fact that he is her father. But it's okay since there are so many other kids out there who have a dad like him. She's just one of them. She's fine. She can deal with it and she can survive. She's has absolutely no problem if HS is just her mother's husband. She's fine with it.
  • HS comments on how she's talking so maturely. HS tells her how he'll get her a gift tomorrow for sure. Minnie tries to tell him it's not necessary but HS tells her that what he has said is final. He wishes her happy birthday again.
  • As he's leaving, Minnie stops him saying that she has an idea.
  • Precap: Babes is hanging the photo of the three of them on the wall happily. HS looks back at Minnie and they both shake hands and blink at each other reassuringly. They both let go and stand with their hands clasped behind their backs just as Babes turns around to look at them, super happy.

It definitely is . They talk about what is their relationship. ... Best scene of the week I must say  and yes Ashnoor and Annirudh killed it.
