Here's why Anurag Basu from Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot is the worst boyfriend ever
We've been closely following Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot and we've reached to a conclusion that Anurag Basu is the worst boyfriend ever. Wondering why? Read on to find out...
Anurag Basu is the worst boyfriend ever - here's why
Key Highlights
- We've been following Kasautii Zindagii Kay since Day-1 and we're honestly unimpressed with the character growth of Anurag Basu
- While the show surprises you with every episode, Anurag continues to be a bit annoying
- And here's why we think Anurag Basu is one of the worst fictional boyfriends ever
Kasautii Zindagii Kay is a guilty pleasure that we all indulge in. Whether it's imitating Komolika's signature 'nikaa' to enjoying Mr. Bajaj's cruel ways, Kasautii Zindagii Kii was a platter of love, drama, cruelty and lots of plot twists. When Ekta Kapoor announced a reboot to every 90 kids' favourite show, we waited with bated breath to see how the show unfolds. While we obviously have a few logical problems with the show (read: The duration each event takes, how Prerna seems to be pregnant for over 9 months without a bump), the main issue we have with the reboot is Anurag Basu!
We've been following the show since Day 1 and Anurag's character goes from a fun-loving guy to probably the most annoying guy we've come across. Here's why we think Anurag Basu is one of the worst fictional boyfriends we've ever seen:
Egoistic
Prerna hesitantly gets married to Mr. Bajaj to save Anurag's life. And by default, we'd expect Anurag to mope for a while and eventually move forward in life. But No! His sole agenda is only to find out why Prerna dumped him high and dry. Forgetting that he actually owns a publication, or that his mother also unconditionally loves him, Anurag's goal in life is to chase after his ex-girlfriend and make each passing day as inconvenient and difficult as it possibly can be.
Schemer
Anurag can put Blair Waldorf to shame! No girl wants a guy who schemes his way into her heart. Again boiling down to the fact that Prerna is married, Anurag finds a way (read: get him wrongfully arrested) to get rid of Mr. Bajaj only to backfire. If Anurag has been going by fairytales, then isn't true love the only way to win your soulmate back?
Anger management issues
If Anurag's family were the least bit concerned, they'd definitely seek professional help. The young businessman needs therapy sessions and probably anti-depression meds that will allow him to see and accept reality. We absolutely understand that he's hurting and in pain, but acting like a child who's lost his lollipop only makes Mr. Bajaj a more suitable candidate for Prerna. Anurag is irrational, and a tad bit annoying who gets angry at the drop of a hat.
Selfish
Cezzane Khan's Anurag genuinely seemed to be in love with Prerna who accepted fate and worked towards being grateful to Prerna's sacrifice, Parth Samthaan's Anurag has literally given up on his career (the driving point that urged him to chase after Mr. Bajaj), his family and himself. Not once did he think about the pain that Prerna is going through, but only about how his life changes without Prerna in it. Moreover, his marriage to Komolika was totally acceptable, but how dare Prerna do otherwise!
Anurag has been depicted to be a loving, honest and earnest man who was desired by every girl. But Anurag Basu in the reboot of the show is annoying, selfish and a host to every trait that girls want to steer clear from. We eagerly hope the makers of the show bring about a change (other than Komolika's new plastic surgery) to make Anurag the prince charming he is supposed to be.
