it has happy ending dont worry...I mean we can say doable too ..they close all the loops ...
all the things will get more clear as the show progresses...

I am planning to read novel
I am watching the first episode now.....it all makes sense now LOL...but I feel for beginners it would be really confusing...novel does more justice to introduce the series I think
Just to give a head start...
Wei Wuxian (WWX) or infamously known as Yilling patriarch is shown falling off from a cliff. You can see how everyone is talking about how dangerous was WWX and how he single handedly destroyed all the clans so its good he died etc. When he is falling from the cliff, Lan Zhan tries to save him but is surprised to see Jiang Cheng getting mad angry and finally WWX falls ....
The story then forwards by 16 years...and now we can see some students are wondering if Yilling patriarch is gone for good..or is he still alive?..will he come back etc. The teacher mentions his body was not seen anywhere...
the first episode is then showing reincarnation of WWX as Mo Xuanyo.
There are total five clans :Wen, Jin,Jiang,Lan and Nie
Wen is the most dominant one among these in the beginning ...all these clans are immortal cultivators who have spiritual powers.. each of the clan have their own leaders and own area of operation but wen clan is too evil and wants to take over everything by demonic cultivation
Lan Zhan or Lan Wang Ji - belongs to Lan clan
WWX belongs to Jiang clan
