She Could be seen in elocution competitions in schools. In college, She did one act plays. She didn't decide anything. Whatever opportunities came in her way, she grabbed them.
Her both parents were serving in income-tax. She was the eldest among the three sisters. She had the experience of acting in inter-college plays. She went to act in a Marathi serial 'Adhyat Na Madhyat' because somebody from the friend circle told her to do so. Right from the morning she sat till late in the evening. She was asked to give only one shot. It had only one sentence. But it was her maiden experience to face the camera. She continued to act in one act plays while completing her education.
Her first professional play was 'Bombay Meri Jan' directed be Kedar Shinde. Pradeep Patwardhan, Chinmayee Surve, Sumeet Raghavan were her co-actors in it. After this play she acted in malvani version of "All the Best." by Devendra pem. There weren't many performances of this play. But, 'All The Best' in Marathi gave her popularity. She also started acting in 'Manomani with Mohan Joshi. She bagged the central character in the serial 'Manasi' as director kumar sohony was quite impressed with her role in 'Manomani'. Rakesh Sarang too gave her role of a central character in 'Anchal ki chhanva me'. Deepa started to bag roles in the serials one after another. In marathi too she acted in 'Athang, Bandini, Damini and Pimpalpan.
Deepa reached every home through ad-films while doing plays and serials. she is seen in advertisements of Rin-Shaktee, Surf-Excel, Sonata Watch, Clinic-plus and so many others. She entered the film industry as a heroine in 'Maratha Battalion. Afterwords she portrayed the muslim character of Zeba in 'Krishna Kathachi Meera' by Gajendra Ahire. She got the Maharashtra Government's award for her role in 'Chakawa' directed by Jateen wagale. Deepa's enthuthiasm has been enhanced first when she got state award for her role in 'Manomani'. It was also complimented by an award from Alpha T.V. for 'Praffulit Chehara'.
Ever enthusiastic Deepa is constantly conscious about her fitness. Whenever she finds time she does reading. To prove that-one is a very good actress she is conscious of the fact that she has some obligation as a human being. It is her wish to be a part of the remake of 'umbaratha' in which smita Patil has immortalized. If Deepa Chances upon such an opportunity she will surely make the best of it.
