EX Male Model exposes the dark truths of modelling industry

I've heard how male models like John, Arjun Rampal, etc. had to sleep with top designers like Rohit Bal etc. to get a chance in the industry? My brother's friend who lives in Mumbai and is familiar with the industry people said that all the male models who've made it big have slept with their superiors to get there.

I also saw a Punjabi male model's interview who said the same thing that either you sleep with your superiors or you have to have connections in the industry to get to the top.

yes, and its no hidden truth, fashion industry is like bollywood, there's glitz, glamour, sparkle but behind the doors there is a lot of dirt.

male models have to sleep mainly because of the reason that they need an increase in income. female models tend to earn with a bigger margin, so for male models its a bigger struggle to survive also to maintain your body, going to saloon attend regular parties etc requires a lotta money as well. mumbai is a cruel place to live in if you r short of money

Yes dear its true. Dont know about actors u mentioned but in modelling industry in india its common to sleep for getting more projects.

Won't deny there is an ugly under belly to the fashion industry but many who cannot make it exaggerate it and only highlight the negatives.

That's how the likes of Bipasha, Deepika, John, Dino, Arjun, and who knows even Aish/PC must have compromised to make it big! ... Esp when they come from a non filmi and no connection background!

All that is fine. But what does this guy saying 'Main Punjabi tha aur hoon' mean? Like are you trying to say every Punjabi guy is a homophobe. Kehne ka matlab kya tha isska?

This is extremely true for the male models. Female models not so much cause there's a market for them to prosper in India. There's also the gay community thriving in fashion that make the male models a prey of sorts. Its not a stereotype but honest truth that most male designers are gay or atleast bi so their preference puts male models in a spot. The really good looking ones make it fine. Its the ones on the edges. But any which way you see it, the entertainment industry is not for the faint hearted.

Yeah Fashion along with the po*n industry is one of the few professions were female earn considerably more than male
