Going after big names is the main reason Colors is in this state,  Bepannah, Silsila had superstars but didn't bring ratings, Kasam had big names but was modest success.

Kasam2 is relying on Ekta's name and the popularity of the ML, but IMO this isn't the right strategy. They need to know what makes their audience click and give it to them, for the past two years Colors was trying to become more modern, more edgy and more glamorous, imitating SP but failed.

They should learn from Zee, it had a bad patch a couple of years ago and KDB turned the tide, it didn't have big names, it copied Zee's most popular show. ISA was successful for a while, Raabta and Guddan are doing well, none have big names, they just follow a successful formula. Colors needs to find their successful formula.

Even in SP it isn't names that's bringing success, it's the formula. KZK2 only started to click when they turned it into a battle of the two sautans, the new spin off has Shaheer, but lost audience because they haven't judged the viewers' pulse correctly.

Digital platforms offer more but their reach is still small, TV is still the medium that brings highest revenue and highest publicity to actors. Even digital has some nonsense shows mixed with quality ones but it offers more options.

Ekta knows how to sell a show, she is a consummate business woman. Whatever the content the new show will fare better than Roop. 

May be too much of drama and unrealistic approach of daily soaps killing the liking of serials in general.

Not much creative ideas and depth in story.

And the sudden changes taking in the story in the trp race and everything dragging people away.

I think they need to properly decide tracks in advance rather than moving in flow depending on trps.

Sometimes shows brings too much unrealistic dramas or the story dragged too much.

Udaan was perfect example how it's tracks were properly planned earlier and how it became planning story for 2 weeks.

Ekta shows an exception and I don't understand how they are getting ratings because it's dragging like anything.

But other shows in general facing down fall these days.
