I think Abir is by far my favorite male lead on ITV. He is free-spirited, fun-loving, helpful, caring, and protective, all of which are amazing qualities.

On top of that, the best quality is that he is super alert, aware of his surroundings, is INTELLIGENT, and sees through his mother so easily. As many here have mentioned, he was able to put together the story behind Mishti's father based off of a couple of conversations that he had overheard and from what he had witnessed at the Holi party.

Now, from the segments that have come out, it is evident that Abir has easily identified Meenakshi's entire game plan behind rejecting Kuhu and selecting Mishti for Kunal. He has found out about Meenakshi using the jhumkas to identify Kuhu/Mishti, and has put her on the spot in front of the family by accusing her of calling the police to break the alliance. 👏👏 👏

This is by far the only male lead I have ever seen who is this perceptive. At a time when almost all Indian TV male leads are brainless and spineless, a character like Abir is refreshing. The guy is not only smart, but truly has a detective's brains!! (I think he belongs in the CBI, not Mishti, lol 😆)Even when Parul comes forward to take the blame in the segment, he is damn sure that she is covering up for his mother.

In fact, Meenakshi's plan has flopped again because Abir has saved Mishti and Kuhu from getting arrested, and has also saved the Maheshwaris from undergoing a bigger public spectacle by having the police take them to the side. Meenakshi has also been forced to take back her complaint and pretend that she didn't know that Mishti and Kuhu were the girls that Ketki met in Rann, who actually helped her come back rather than run away, in order to maintain her good image in front of Kunal. Abir, I'm sure, will not buy her explanation and will keep a close watch on her now.

Just like Meenakshi, I too was hoping for the Kunal-Mishti alliance to break over this issue, and the story to progress with the newly budding friendships between the two couples, but I guess it is still on the cards for now all thanks to Abir. The rest of the Rajvansh family will apologize and Meenakshi will be forced to comply for the time being in order to save face.

I just can't wait for MishBir and KuKu happen but I like that this show has not jumped straight into the attraction/love phase for both of the couples. This is what makes YRHPK realistic and enoyable to watch. Despite having an inkling of their own feelings and sense of disappointment regarding the impending Mishti-Kunal alliance, Abir and Kuhu don't appear to be smitten or sad, 24/7, and have not yet come to the point of being in love.

They're taking their own sweet time to get to know each other, and the new friendships are just a starting point. Abir has already realized that Kuhu is a better fit for Kunal. Again, hats off to him for that👏 👏. Now, I want him to try and make KuKu happen, realizing his own feelings in the process.

Totally agree. Abir is refreshingly smart unlike Heroes of other shows. I hope makers keep the spark in him intact through out the show.

i feel abir will ask mishti to help him in uniting kuhu and kunal as abir has told today when mishti will go to him to tell that she want to know kunal
and abir and mishti will do everything possible to unite kuku and in process they will come together
even when kunal and mishti will be meeting abir will interrupt and take mishti from there so kuku could spend time together

Well said . Makers have broken many stereotypes when it comes to ML .He is not the typical male lead whose job is to look good , dress well and romance the FL .

I wish he remains the same as the story progresses

This will happen the moment the police fiasco will end. The reason is the earrings again. The moment Kunal and Mishti talk, the main topic will be on the arrest and the earrings. The moment Mishti reveals that it is hers, Kunal will back off from the whole talk of marriage. Because Abir told Kunal to think that those earrings belongs to his "bhaabi". Kunal will never proceed with a girl that Abir has called as his own, even if his mom said she thinks she is the right choice for him. He is too sanskaari. 😆 😆 😆

I hope this happens too. The only thing is that Abir-Mishti coming together will be too easy then. The guy already defies his mother and if both fall in love, I think the only conflict will be to make both families agree.

Do you think they will go this route or prolong the earring revelation for more drama. Also, how long do you think the show will go on for before they get married. In other words, is the before/after marriage phase going to be equally important to the plot or do the makers want to emphasize the after marriage phase. The plot is centered around arranged marriages, but it looks like the story is going to take the love marriage route, so I am not completely sure as to whether Abir/Mishti will have their love story before or after marriage.

I always love when the makers show a full-fledged love story with all phases before letting it get to the marriage stage, but I just don't trust anything on ITV anymore because they always create weird/forced circumstances to get the leads married.

With regards to how the show will progress, I have a feeling that Abir will also have to end up helping Mishti with other potential suitors as Rajshri will still want to get her married even if Kunals alliance breaks. As some have already mentioned, Mishti and Abir are somewhat like Rhea and Karan of Hum Tum. The makers might make Mishti fall for Abir during this process because she will realize that no one understands her or makes her feel comfortable like Abir does. Though I would rather them come together while helping KuKu get together and not have to sit through Mishti trying to get to know other guys, I think this would be the only way for the makers to stay true the arranged marriages theme.

I completely agree that it's refreshing to see this sort of male lead. I will also add that it is great to see a younger brother who loves and respects both his mom and elder brother even though the two clash often. He follows Meenakshi's instructions but also speaks up against any wrong decisions she makes. It's just that his approach is different and he is often more diplomatic.

I am glad he doesn't blindly follow either his mother or his brother because I think he will have a major role to play in the Abir and Mishti story too. It's interesting that while Abir now feels Kuhu is a better match for his brother, Kunal shows very little interest in Mishti compared to his yearning to find Kuhu and talk to her. The look in her eyes as she was hurt the other day haunts him as much as it does Abir.

Maybe I haven't watched enough ITV, but the brothers' contrasting personalities yet immense love and trust in each other also seems a bit different in that each one speaks their mind. Abir isn't the typical doting elder brother who spoils Kunal or turns a blind eye to everything he does and neither is Kunal the younger brother who takes Abir's caring and decision-making for granted.

I have seen today's episode. Parul takes all the blame for calling police after seeing earrings in abir's room. So naturally abir is guilty about shouting on his mother and says sorry. But he sends naanu and Kunal to mishty hsz for saying sorry.
I feel somehow these mother's get back to their way like today.

But the good thing is he still holds his mother responsible and tells her she should be the one who should say sorry to mishty's family instead of naanu
